I agree, there's no surprise anymore. We'll know every detail of the next Pokemon game before it's even out. So when we finally get to play it, there's no reason to figure anything out anymore, everyone will know all the secrets!
But if the Sun & Moon thing is real, that's kind of cool. But also weird they skipped the letter Z even if that's pretty boring and predictable of a game version.
@arronishere: Some people don't want to get spoiled. I mean, most people are probably expecting Pokémon Z or XZ / YZ or whatever. I don't think anyone saw this coming.
@Octane: What an intelligent well thought out suggestion. I mean of course I shouldnt use the internet.
Tho btw this isnt about me anyway. Its about the surprise of the planned reveal being lost. Its a blow for Nintendo more than anyone. But id certainly wouldnt deny that cloud's reveal was a great one.
@DJaa: Nintendo of Europe filed the trademark, which is publicly available online. They could've waited a day or two if they really wanted to...
Besides, isn't it better this way? This is more of a surprise than tomorrow's Direct. This came out of nowhere; but with the Direct you knew you were getting something new
What's interesting is that I remember someone from Pokemon or GameFreak saying that the next games have something to do with flowers. The sun feeds flowers through photosynthesis.
If these leaks are true then it could have been referencing sunflower and moonflower. That was probably meant to throw people off by making them think about flowers instead of the sun and moon.
We're all presuming it's for 3DS, but what if it's a new WiiU or mobile game. That would mkae these games an even bigger surprise.
Now, I don't really expect it to be on anything other than 3DS, but Nintendo do like to "upset the coffee table" from time to time.
I don' see multiple version games working for a console, but yeah could be mobile. Could also be another spin off series (I personally don't think so, but there is a reasonable possibility).
This announcement has be very concerned, because there's so many ways this could go wrong. If they move onto something completely new, then Kalos will remain incredibly shallow. If they do a Johto situation than Kalos will still remain shallow because they put all of the effort into the new region. And then what about how things play out for future games? Will there be a followup to these games? And what about the NX, are we going to have to wait until 2019 for the first NX title? Unless these games are what we want out of Gen 6.5, I can't see that going over well. And even with a Gen 6.5 scenario, that'd still be pretty controversial (as much as I would love a Gen 6.5).
@Bolt_Strike: Calm down. Breath in slowly, breath out slowly. We will have to wait and see what happens in the future. We have no information on this, we will be getting info tomorrow most likely, and you are already talking about the next 3 years of the series. Lets see what this is before we start singing doom and gloom.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Oh, there's still a possibility for it to be good, don't get me wrong. It's just that moving onto a new generation at this point opens a humongous can of worms.
@Bolt_Strike I kinda agree with you, I feel like Z needs to put the final closer on Kalos and would fix all the problems with X/Y. At the same time I'm really excited for a new set of Pokemon titles, but it does feel a bit too soon and I think they should have Z, then wait a bit to introduce S/M instead of so soon.
I feel like a year ago I was the only arguing for Pokemon Z and wveryone else wanted them to just move on. Now that it looks like they are moving on, people are wanting Pokemon Z... I find this funny lol

True, I'd think that a new game would be exciting than more of the same region. Who knows what it'll be, if it's good enough, I might actually buy a new Pokémon game for myself this time.
Also, my unreasonable prediction for today: Pokémon Sun and Moon are launch titles for NX, because the NX needs big games for its launch, right?
