What the Update Does:

• Blocks some flash carts
• Makes minor tweaks to StreetPass Mii Plaza.

What the Update Does Not Do

• Add Swapnote/Nintendo Letter Box to your system — that's coming in the eShop later today.
• Update NES games to include wireless multiplayer, save states etc.
• Anything else interesting.

Seems most 3DS downloads have an update but no word on what they are. Will do some investigating.

Open up the eShop, find the relevant game and click "Update"

You can also update by going to that list of downloaded titles, same one you got the Ambassador games from, and checking which ones are updated. Strange they're not under "available updates" :S

and wouldn't it be great if they downloaded and installed the updates automatically?

Wasn't that something they promised ever since the 3DS was announced at E3 two(?) years ago? The ability to have stuff download automatically? They actually ask you in the eShop and in the options of the 3DS itself (iirc) whether you want that enabled or not, but I have yet to see it actually be done. >.>

I'm pretty sure it was and some did say this update did that. We've also got Nintendo Video which does the same sort of thing.

I would like to see it be done across all updates though.

I guess we couldn't expect much after only 2 weeks. I wonder if the Streetpass Plaza update has something to do with Swapnote, since I think they said something about being able to use Swapnote over Streetpass.

why do have update 3DSware titles? just checked freakyforms and nothing appears to be new?

Updated Freakyforms and it's still the same... what's the point in these updates if they don't add anything new?

I tried to go onto eshop, and had to update my system. When I went back onto eshop, it went straight to the update for Zelda 1.
A message on the eshop here (in Japan) says the update(s) are to fix some minor bugs that may have caused some software not to work properly.

@Tate24 @xDemon720x Updates aren't meant to add anything new. They're meant to deal with bugs, glitches, any other fixes that may need applying and so on.

Wasnt it something to do with the new message facility that europe have supposed to have got today? so you can send messages between friends i suppose? i have updated and still see no message option. ;(
