I think an eShop game that is similar to Call Of Duty: Zombies on the iThingies would be awesome... But DLC for moar maps would give it extra awesome-ness.
it's coming from Project Sora, and if you want an example of the kind of games they make, you should see SSB: Brawl. It's not a little, but I'm not expecting it to be a Battlefield 3 or anything.
I'm a little uninformed here. Project Sora didn't make Brawl.

Co-developed. W/ Hal Laboratory, Sega, & Konami. They technically were some other game company hired to help, and after, it was made into Project Sora. They were Game Arts or something.

Either way, your expecting a lot from the 3DS. It can't produce all those features you listed that the consoles can. DLC with map packs? When hell freezes over.

Your not getting the point. When have map packs for any game ever sold well on a handheld? The Wii didn't get DLC for Call of Duty for many reasons. The 3DS isn't too different. Voice chat and patches I could see, but not full fledged map packs with up to 5 new maps to play on.
Beyond that is the fact that, even if the 3DS would have DLC, would it be worthwhile? I can't see a FPS community on the 3DS growing to a mammoth size to where the company would consider DLC.

It'll get made, and it will be the definition of mediocrity. Won't be bad, won't be great. If you have a portable FPS itch it will scratch it, but won't provide anything memorable. Sales will be decent, but not spectacular. Community will decent sized, but not big.
Honestly if you're an FPS fan you're probably going to play them on a PS3, PC, 360, or Wii U, and if you are an FPS nut that wants a portable fix you'll be all up in the Vita.
