Topic: Anyone getting Cave Story 3D?

If you have a Mac, you should download Cave Story+ for $10. Or wait for it to go on Steam/PC for the same price.

Neh, I got it on my 3DS as DSiWare... didn't know a 3D version was coming out. Doesn't seem like remaking it in 3D and paying extra would be worth it.

Yeah, but not yet. I've already played it on WiiWare, so I'm not in any rush.

I might. For such a cute looking game, it has one of the most tragic stories I've ever seen.

I really want to, but I don't want to spend £30+ on it. Will probably hold off until it's available cheaper.

Mind, I could pay £63 for "Cave Story 3D (Nintendo 3DS)" on the PlayStation 3....

Yes.. the creator of Cave Story did express interest in a sequel. Dunno if it'll happen, because Cave Story is a game that.. well, just doesn't need a sequel, imo. But I'll take it

Is it really $40 though? There hasn't been much information regarding what's in the package and to justify that price....

I love Cave Story, its one of the best freeware/Wiiware/Dsiware games out there. But when you try to sell it at full price alongside its cheaper alternatives, this doesn't spell success for the company, even with the extra level and upgraded(?) graphics/sound. Even Nis themselves worry about the sales for this game, now thats telling us something. I might get it once its price settles down to $20 or less just for the extras, but $40-30 is where they cross the line.

I guess some games are perfect just the way they are, even in their purest and simplest form. Thats one reason why Cave Story created such an impact for me.

If it's worth buying it, as there's the freeware version.

Its Free on PC and $12 on wiiware and $10 on dsiware.

Already have the Wiiware version so I'll pass.

I only have the translated PC game. I will definitely be getting this as soon as I can afford it, but I got some bills that'll be due around then and money will be tight for like a couple months for other reasons.

I don't buy dsiware unless it's $5 or under so I have little of it as NOAs policies suck. When and if, same applies on PS3 though too as I like to have a physical copy and not be held at digital gunpoint of developers deciding when to remove things so I buy off Steam. A game cart/card is a long term investment and this game I will invest in as it's just that good. I never finished the PC game as I just nitpick at it as other paid items distract me time and again so it will be an honest first play which I look forward to. At worst Christmas funds will get this.

Seem's alittle cheap and you'll be missing out on a lot of great digital only games.
