Topic: 5 Things Nintendo Needs To Get Back On Top..

In your opinion.. What do you think nintendo needs to do to get back on top?? just 5!

For me.. My top 5 things are :-

5. Add Trophies! I was always that gamer that tries to get platinum on games that I love.. I just want full on trophies systems like on xbox and playstation..

4. A Legit pokemon Wii U game.. I honestly do not understand why this hasn't happened yet.. its clear that Pokemon is an instant system seller..

3. Get Platinum games to become a second party developer.. So far from what i've seen with Bayonetta and the Wonderful 101.. Platinum games are amazing.. I've accepted the fact that Nintendo won't get 3rd party developers for Nintendo.. So they need all the internal support they could get to have a steady stream of games all year round..

2. Better and More game localizations .. I'm still waiting for Dragon Quest X! and I do not want to wait a whole year for Monster Hunter and JRPGS!

1. Buy Sega! now more than ever! With Atlus now under sega as well.. PLEASE NINTENDO BUY SEGA!!

Nintendo is doing really well with In game updates and DLCs like with Pikmin and Sonic Lost world I hope this continues to happen.. especially with Super Smash & Mario Kart.. I would love to have more N64 and GC tracks and stages for both games and also they could have like a DLC package with every release.. like for example having Wolf or Krystal and a Starfox stage join SSB when the New Starfox Wii U game comes out!

None of these would get Nintendo back on top.

These are very bad ideas.

I'm not seeing how any of this will get them back on top, this is just a wet dream list that most likely won't have mass appeal.

Well thats why I'm asking what YOU think would get nintendo back on top.. or atleast get them going in the right direction.. What I stated is my own opinion..

Nintendo couldn't buy Sega Sammy I don't think. They are making absolutely loads of money. (By being insanely conservative but still). Hopefully they are preparing to reenter the console market but I don't think they are. (They did get an interesting patent in 2009 that seemed like a home version of Allnet.)

Make more Splatoon, nuff said.

'A different market environment' is the only real way to get back on top. Nintendo does everything right, it just doesn't have a consumer base where the majority of gamers desire their brand of games.

It's kind of sad. And not really Nintendo's fault.

sega is owned by sammy a very profitable pachinko machine maker. this is why nintendo can in no way afford sega.
japan also has some strange laws when it comes to buying out other businesses. nintendo tried to buy namco some years ago and the goverment told them no. (look it up)
they are better off buying a western developer tbo

Perhaps a massive Multiplayer experience for the Wii U (the game made by Nintendo) I don't know much about it, so forgive me if there is already one...

Well, Nintendo is already on top in Japan, so I have to assume you're talking about the West here. Everything you list would have pretty much no effect on Nintendo's American market penetration.

This one in particular though:

Makes no sense.

1) Sega Sammy is currently more profitable than Nintendo. Nintendo cannot under any circumstances afford to buy Sega.
2) Sega already develops for Nintendo platforms and is often making deals with Nintendo for exclusive content. Nintendo would gain absolutely nothing from buying Sega.
3) Nintendo needs more 3rd party support, not less.
4) Sega doesn't have any IP that is huge in the West.

yes. the only interesting thing is if they bought sega but sega is just mediocre nowadays.

adding trophies is the most hilarious suggestion. if you need to trophies to play your games then the games must be kinda uninteresting in the first place.

I don't care about Nintendo being on top.I care about them making awesome games. Which, if you watched E3, then you know that they're on the way.
