I'm loving everything I've read about the Vita EXCEPT the memory card issue. Sony has taken it upon themselves to limit the system to only using special Sony brand memory cards which they're pricing at five times more than any other options. They're using security as their reasons but really it's to hose the customers. So, long story short, I'm not getting a Vita right away anymore because I do not feel the need to buy a small memory card for the same price as buying two new release Xbox 360 games.
Its not security. The PSP used a proprietary memory format. This is insurance for when the Vita does get hacked. The Hacker may not pay for his games but he'll buy the biggest memory card to store all his free games.
Right, security, Their security. And its a load of crap. As long as you can link that thing in with a PC it can be hacked. If this was a play for the fans you would see them offer their card at the market price. This is a cheap cash grab and they're losing out on my $300 because of it right out of the gate.
The Vita will get hacked, just like everything that came before it.
I dunno. Every time I hear Vita news, it seems that the actual price of the package keeps increasing.
Since the Vita is no longer gonna cost $250 because of all the BS Sony is pulling with their accessories, my wallet is much happier with the 3DS.
I hear you. I sold my PS3 when I heard about the Vita. Now I'm going to wait on it a while and not be an early adopter. I'm happy with my 3DS, PSP and 360. I'll let Sony work out all the kink which will no doubt be in the system, if the 1st gen PS3s are any indication.

At the moment but take this into consideration, they're saying the Vita will be as powerful as a PS3 and as such there is potential for lots of easy dual development. I think you will see far more home console level quality games than you saw on the PSP. I own a PSP and love it but the games are hit or miss. Sports games are pathetic on the PSP. There aren't many decent shooters on the PSP. RPGs are in abundance on the PSP. You'll see better performance in all genre on the Vita.

There's already enough overlap in the tech market. Also, it offers 3G connectivity, but with a data plan who would really pay the extra to connect the Vita? Multitouch screen is nice though. Starting at $250 may not be the best price considering the 3DS's 3D makes it seem far more advanced, yet it's cheaper.

im hoping they put monster hunter on the ps vita, i plan on buying one, but if monster hunter comes out, its an instant buy for me
Pretty sure that was the list of confirmed games for Vita that came out a long while ago. But you do know there are two Monster Hunter games coming to 3DS, right? Neither are confirmed out of Japan just yet, but they said they are committed to bringing them over recently.

I prefer the 3DS, being a Nintendo fan. But I would probably buy a Vita if a game interested me and it wasn't $250. I could barely afford the 3DS after the price drop...

Yeah, but no matter how fancy the graphics are I just can't make Mario Kart 7 and Kid Icarus play on a Vita. The 3DS is the one getting Monster Hunter games, and Mario Tennis will likely have online which is a dream come true for me — basically the Vita isn't even beginning to tempt me. 3DS has got and is getting all I want.

Hey everyone. New here. The Vita looks HUGE. I can't imagine rocking that in the doctor's office. Just does not seem portable at all. Just got a 3DS. First Nintendo system in twenty years. Haven't turned on the PS3 since. Haha...
