Are we able to use the 64 and 128Gb SDXC now?

You can, so long as you format the card to FAT32.

I would love to know how much blocks the 3DS will claim that you have if you put in a 128 GB card.

To format it you plug it into your computer, right click, format to FAT32. Relatively straight forward. Not sure if it works on all SDXC cards mind you. I'm not thaaat tech savvy.

And 128gb SDXC card gives you around 1million blocks. So, around 356 downloads of NSMB2.

I feel dumb that I upgraded to a 16gb instead of a 32. I don't even download games all that often, so I still have over 36,000 blocks. The biggest thing I have in my card (other than Nintendo Video) is the Time Travelers demo, which is 1588 blocks.

This is maybe a weird questions, but I assumed all 3DS retail games save their content on the SD card. Fire Emblem, Monster Hunter 3G, Theatrhythm are all there, but Bravely Default and Guild01 aren't. So it looks like some gave on the game cart itself?

I thought SDXC was different to SDHC and that the 3DS only supports HC. I may well be wrong on this, but I wouldn't be rushing to be the guinea pig unless I had another device that could take the card if it didn't work.

Not officially, but there have been people that claimed a SDXC worked on their 3DS and showed all the blocks available.

@Tsuchinoko Game saves are on the carts except for SpotPass/StreetPass data.

And I think TBD should lock the thread or at least get someone to make an article.

You may be looking at extra data, which I think saves on the system itself rather than the card.

Also, good lord at the size of that demo

IT'S OVER 9,000!

Ahem... regardless, I wish they made it so it wouldn't corrupt as easy with anything over 32 GB. I have a 8 GB Class 6 Sandisk Pro card and I love it. If only I knew how to transfer my data from my 2 GB to my 8 GB without messing stuff up.

Sidenote: @Tsuchinoko interesting... It appears that there was an update enabling the badges to be seen on the forum now. I know it wasn't like this before, or else I probably would have noticed @theblackdragon's

Anyways: I thought the 3DS couldn't accept SDHC (So, anything beyond 2GB). Was that just a launch day problem? Has it since been resolved?

Send it to a computer and just drag the folders from your 2GB to your 8GB

This. And even if your computer doesn't have a built-in SD Card Reader, you can probably find one for about $10 at a place like Office Depot or Amazon.

Exactly.

I have a reader from staples, a vivitar one, just one problem.

If I were to paste the files (I've used both SD cards for a year each now!), how would I do it? If I duplicated the folders it would corrupt, and I'm paranoid over that.

Why would anything ever corrupt? Shove in current SD card, copy (don't cut/move the files, because by keeping them on the SD card you have them as a back up still) onto computer. Remove SD card, put in bigger blank SD card. Copy files onto that. Done like dinner.
