Topic: 3DS fell...but survived!!!

you know there have been many people talking about how the 3DS is made out of cheap material and all. but yesterday my 3DS showed how it is ^^

it fell 1meter to the ground in my bathroom and it survived. nothing happend. not a dent or scratch. NOTHING!!!

was it just random and luck or could it be that the 3DS is well made?

The 3DS is built very sturdy, however, try unscrewing the back panel on your 3ds and you will see how flimsy it is.

The 3DS is well made. Nintendo drop-tests (and tests for other damage) all of their new consoles very thoroughly.
Of course I wouldn't encourage you to make a habit of dropping it, but in theory it should survive a fall from about waist height.

but still i am kinda surprised. i almost got an heartattack when that thing dropped

I am so glad to hear that man. Gosh, can you imagine how devastating that would have been for it too break!!!

I'd scream like a school girl and probably watch it all happen in slow motion.

But glad to know the thing is durable! Classic Nintendo!

So is it safe to say an armored car made out of Nintendo consoles would do the trick?

Heh, if you get it from Amazon, say it arrived like that. They pretty much have to give you a refund.

Minegot pulled off the coffee table when I was getting the dog on the cradle and its fine. I was freaking.

Could never understand why people say the 3DS feels cheap. It certainly feels more sturdy that the DSi.

Well I do have an mystery gash on one of my shoulder buttons.

Yeah, a lot of Nintendo stuff is very sturdy. Yeah, a good point. I want a good thing that is 'protected' for this. And if it's only falls once and it broke? Not for me.

Since you dropped your 3DS it will never trust you again! Haha.

I have never dropped mine but it has a scratches on the corner.... no idea how it happened

If I throw a grenade at my 3DS and it doesn't survive, it just goes show they don't make 'em like they used to.

same thing happened to me but my 3ds fell onto carpet, no damage from what i saw:) all Nintendo products are built sturdy imo

Mine fell from about....ehhh a good 5 feet and onto solid hard concrete. And it wasn't from like a desk or just pushed off of something. No, I had it in my pocket in my shirt and we were all running and my 3DS flew up out of my pocket and then it came down very hard. But it was weird because the only one that panicked and screamed like a school girl was my brother that saw it all happen.
Actually, now that I remember, I did feel my face go pale.
Anyways nothing happened to my 3DS (I guess would be the point of my little story here). It just has a small scratch right on the bottom right corner next to the power LED. (LUCKY OR WHAT!!!? )

wow, i would have been dead if i saw that, i think i would have cried, especially if it was my 3ds. but thank goodness its alright.
