Great News! While Ghostlight did indeed publish Trails in the Sky on PSP in Europe back then, i think if we‘re talking about porting Falcom JRPGs, it‘s far more likely that they will do something like Tokyo Xanadu for which they developed the PC port, afaik. I would gladly take both though...
Well, it certainly would require a lot of work. But after Doom/Eternal, Wolfenstein and the announced Ark i wouldn’t want to say it‘s impossible.
But even if it was indeed impossible - Ports of Tomb Raider 2013 and Rise of ... would certainly be possible. Those games have Ports to X360 after all. I‘d really like to play that.
@Dom About that pause menu bug: I experienced the same and you can circumvent it by restarting the switch. Not just the game, but the whole OS. After that everything is fine. It‘s funny because i had the exact same bug in Doom. Maybe you want to add that to the review, i guess it could help quite a few people.
@RetroBillyT You can use 8BitDo's SFC30 directly with the Retron5, after a firmware update. I don't know for sure if this works for their other controllers though. If you want to connect a WiiU Pro Controller to the Retron5 with this receiver though i'm not 100% sure if that works.
I have used Play Asia many times now and i have never had any problems at all. I had to contact their customer service twice (email), and in both cases they did reply very fast and friendly, so it's kind of sad to hear that :/
@Yorumi I own 2 8BitDo SFC 30 controllers (the SNES ones in the first picture, in PAL/JP colors) and the build quality is pretty much perfect. They aren't cheap though...
I'm thinking really hard about getting those receivers right now.
This is almost the same i'm expecting myself with one exception: There is absolutely no chance that it will be backwards compatible with WiiU. There are technical hurdles they have no chance to overcome. There are simply no PowerPC processors available on the market right now they could use for a reasonably powerful console at their target price. Especially not for a mobile device. The best bet would be ARM. ARM processors are cheap, they are powerful, there are multiple vendors in the market an thanks to the smartphone business they will still be there 10 years from now. 3DS BC on the other hand would be a possibility, as 3DS uses ARM already.
@Ed_Fairway I think abe_hikura is talking about this petition: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/131215 although i don't think this will change anything. Whatever happens in the UK in the next few years, i'm wishing the best of luck to all of you.
@Octane I get your point but the big question is, how expensive is ROM technology exactly nowadays? I have never read any hard numbers regarding this. There are quite a few advantages in using cartridges actually, with price being the only disadvantage. Maybe they think it's worth it. Especially with download distribution on the rise, the type of physical media shouldn't be the most important factor for the systems success any more like in the 90's.
At least Splatoon won the title of "best international multiplayer game" of the german computer game awards (http://deutscher-computerspielpreis.de/preistraeger) yesterday. That's better than nothing, right?
@Einherjar You can learn the basics in two 3 week courses in Bochum/Germany, and yes, it's not exactly cheap (except you're a student). How long it will take to get one's skills to al level sufficient for understanding a game like Fire Emblem is a different question though. But i don't think it takes 4-5 years, if you constantly use it.

Re: Miyamoto Doesn't Want To Make An MMORPG Because It Would Be Boring
I never ever even thought about the possibility of an MMO made by Miyamoto. Now I want one.

@Dom Just restarting the system, no factory settings needed. Worked for me at least, and i‘ve read the same on Resetera

Well i, and i suspect most of us here, can live without EA and their games but... it's definitely not a good sign for the future.

They need to spill the beans already. Without any further clarifications this already hurts NX's image. Regardless of it being fake or not...
