I found the dungeons too easy and therefore boring. Here are five puzzle rooms. In each one, you will move an object to a spot. Fiddle fiddle fiddle fiddle. Congrats, you did it. Here’s a boss that is going to take one, maybe even two tries. Tired of Hyrule? Go stumble around in grey darkness with invisible barriers everywhere. Hoard all the zonaite you can, you’ll need it for the gadgets. Tired of that? Go find a tower so you can rocket up to the two or three nearby islands with barely anything on them. Hoard all the sundelions you can, you’ll need them for the depths. Pure tedium, albeit pleasant tedium.
Definitely a step down from Breath of the Wild, which was a much more focused and exciting experience. Had a lot of the same problems, but it was new and difficult at times because it was unfamiliar. Now we know how to run away from a Talus or where Koroks tend to hide or how to handle shrines or we can just build a plane and boringly fly over all annoyances. I put in 85 hours, so it obviously wasn’t awful. I’m just very glad to be done with it
Mine died shortly after completing Breath of the Wild and trying Wii Sports Club. Permanently corrupted from that and Nintendo won't fix any of them anymore for any amount of money.. Homebrew community doesn't know how to fix it either.
What I don't get is why Goldeneye couldn't come out. Weren't we told it was Nintendo who stopped it from being on Xbox live? If they had any say in it, couldn't they prevent this one from being released, too?
I listened to the samples and Nintendo has reasonable doubt on their side. If Vanilla Ice can get away with the similarities in Ice Ice Baby, Nintendo shouldn't have any problems with putting out a decade old game that sort of vaguely sounds like real songs. Who would ever think to sue in a case like that? Also, what about the GBA trilogy? That's a real game that went into stores. Why couldn't the artists sue them over that? I don't buy it. Nintendo's legal department would have to be filled with a bunch of idiots, which also wouldn't fly since they dodge Wii Fit lawsuits daily.
"Now, I don't wish to dissuade you from buying an Xbox360 or a PS3, but please do it for the RIGHT reasons. Banjo Kazooie alone isn't worth it."
No, but Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts is. That game is incredible. Granted, Perfect Dark Zero appears to be incredibly lame, but Rare got their act together. The reason the VC is so important on Wii is because their back catalog games are more interesting than their current catalog ones. Would you rather play Wii Music or Earthbound? How about Disaster Day of Crisis or Super Mario World? Wii Play or Super Metroid?
"WHY THE HECK WAS NO PROPER HD SUPPORT ADDED? I'm fed up having to drag my standard cable out because games don't fit the image in the centre correctly if I use a Component Lead?"
Can't you just change the picture formatting setting to 4:3 on your TV? That's what I always do to play classic games. Or just use the xbox 360, which I'm pretty sure readjusts for wide, at least it did on Symphony of the Night.
I'm starting to believe an Earthbound sequel is in the works. Why else would Nintendo hold up the release of this old game so much? Honestly, I was going to use this game as a hold out until Jasper xbox 360's, but now I don't what I'm going to do. I might be forced to buy a competitor's product. You hear that Nintendo?!
What's stopping them from releasing the titles on both systems? Seriously, how many people are going to buy an Xbox just for Goldeneye? From what I've heard, Microsoft likes money and I bet they'd be willing to make some by selling 10 year old games to Wii owners for way more money than they are actually worth. I predict an enhanced live version with a back to basics Wii version for 1500 wii points.
I'm of the minority opinion that this game isn't all its cracked up to be. To me, it's just a glamorized version of a really hard shoot 'em up. I can understand why others love it, but pattern memorization just bores me.

Re: Soapbox: After 10 Years I'm Finally Getting A Wii U, But Where Should I Start?
@tylerryan79 One of the apps that causes the system to lock up is system settings. The only way to access file transfer is... system settings.

Re: Nintendo Download: Dr. Mario, Wonder Boy, More Magic Tricks and Crystal Defenders (US)
This is getting annoying. I want more Art Style games. And Earthbound. Charge a premium for Earthbound, I don't care.

Re: USA VC Update: Sonic (Master System) and Splatterhouse 2
I now have an xbox 360 don't have money for Earthbound anymore. Way to miss the boat, Nintendo! That eight dollars is Microsoft's now.

Re: Mega Man 1 & 2 Coming To North America Soon?
Earthbound!
Re: Sonic on the Master System coming to Virtual Console?
You know what other game has been rated..... EARTHBOUND! I had to wedge it in somewhere.
Re: Super Mario RPG Released in Japan Today
I always like to search every post for mention of Earthbound. It's always there. EARTHBOUND!

Re: Alien Soldier
That clip makes me feel like I'm back in Toys R Us in the mid nineties. I'll definitely consider buying that.
