I'm more inclined to judge a game's value by how much fun it is than by "how much stuff" is in it.

I already have a routine, but I pre-ordered for a relative's birthday. Get the impression it'll be a hit.

Pretty interesting that this is mostly due to efficiency improvements rather than a new battery. Bit of a letdown for those who already have a Switch, but should be great news for those who like to play with a battery case because that will last longer too.

I'd get it if I had a Switch. Even if the full version was available. Sure, they could've put a little more effort into the graphics, but I like that this version gives streamlines things and should run very smoothly.

I actually get the impression the 3DS would be an interesting platform for many indies right now. I know it's never happening, but there are quite a few Switch hits (Stardew Valley, Golf Story,...) I would get on my 3DS in a heartbeat. Chicken Wiggle looks like a quality game, but only upon close inspection. I feel like that had more to do with it not performing very well. Just my anecdotal 2 cents.

A clamshell type switch-compatible system or a backwards-compatible 3DS-like system with a higher resolution, either would be fine by me.

I'm happy to hear that there'll be some 3DS news. I think the whole "all in on the Switch" line of reasoning is nonsense. Development for both is very different and you can't just throw 3DS resources at Switch projects.

Eh. Even if they don't publish the patterns, I imagine they'll be on the internet before the kits even hit retail. And third parties will be selling cardboard with the patterns applied.

@SLIGEACH_WiiU Have you played the Wii U version? I love it to bits, but it has massive frame drops in lots of places - especially village areas.

@Hotfusion I read that external (HDD) storage via dock is an option. Can't remember the source, but it's worth a search.

I'm surprised so many people are surprised at this. It has to be solid state storage due to the portability aspect and anything big enough to actually install a library of full retail games is going to jack up the price considerably. Meanwhile, the price of SD cards drops as technology improves.

I'm not saying 32 is "fine", because more is always convenient, but it is hardly a shock.
