Re: Capcom Outlines June DLC for Resident Evil Revelations

Money makin', money money makin' Super disco, disco breakin'

every DLC published that shortly after a games launch is nothing but profit-driven bullpoopy. EA says 'welcome to the club, amigos'
It's not like Capcom isn't capable of creating quite more creative DLC than that.

Re: Developer Interview: Ubisoft on the Expanding Rayman Legends and Wii U's Free Challenge Mode

After all that drama with the delay, I think this is one hell of a nice move. and actually, I wouldn't even have bought that game and now I'm able to play those challenges for free. maybe I'll get so much into it, that I'll change my mind. People who are still mad at Ubi for preferring marketstrategy over their fans hearts (which indeed hurts, but welcome to capitalism) should grow up and realize, that there are far bigger problems in the world than a freaking game delay. Some of the more grown ups here may remember how long games were delayed back in times of Ocarina of Time, a game that felt like delayed for aeons! So goddammit, grow some balls and stop acting like babies, Ubisoft is the onle huge third party who's really supporting the WiiU with all they have and if you've seen the SC Blacklist trailer, then you'll see that their ports are even going far beyond typical third party ports. They really seem to want the WiiU become a console with great software and just because they messed up the Rayman issue doesn't make them any worse. Check out how EA is doing in the meanwhile and start your whining.

I got tired of that franchise over the past years. loved it on the SNES, loved it on the N64 but then, Double Dash didn't interest me that much and at the time, the Wii version got released I just wasn't into Mario Karting anymore altough it looked kinda fun. I don't know, but I guess my karting career is over ...

@Peach64 Word. Pikmin and Zelda WW HD aren't real system sellers. I don't believe, Pikmin is such a popular brand as Mario & Zelda are, although I personally totally love it. But I don't think people would buy the system to play Pikmin. Smash Bros is the only huge system seller we know of at the moment. And yeah, if that's being released together with some other great titles, that could push the WiiU quite a bit. But I don't really get it how fans could expect the sales to 'skyrocket' just because of games like Earthbound. That's totally ridiculous. The fans that are so damn hardcore Nintendo-believers so they'd really buy a console to play Earthbound probably already own a WiiU, so this game is nothing more than a great gift for the fans, but nothing to take over world domination.

The main problem is, that the momentum of a console's launch has passed already. Many possible buyers already lost their interest and even if Nintendo would now announce 10 AAA Games being released exclusively for the WiiU, that wouldn't nearly help as much as it would have during the first months. I wouldn't say that they can't do anything about the WiiU, but now they'll be facing a much harder time getting the console on track as they would have if they would've been better prepared for the launch.
And seriously? I think it's a shame that the console-manufacturer with the most experience in the gaming industry fails that bad when it comes to launching a milestone-product. I really wish they know what they're doing and I really hope that E3 will bring the revelation, Nintendo always keeps promising. If E3s not dropping a huge bomb, then the WiiU's lifecycle may not reach as many years as their predecessors. The reason why this is starting to make me angry is, that the WiiU is a freaking great concept and piece of hardware and it's just such a shame that it doesn't get as much attention as it would've deserved as there would be so damn much possible with that system but without an audience that's at least 10 times bigger than it is now, developers will keep holding back their ideas from being transfered into creative games. and now and then, you can already see such games popping out on the system. And that even makes me more sad as you always get teased by so many things on the WiiU but barely see anything, that's beyond teasing. Always announcements of stuff that's gonna happen later this year, at E3 or that could be possible. Sorry mates, I'm just kinda disappointed in this whole thing and in the fact, that for the last months it was always like 'Nintendo's not doing too much marketing ...because [insert any strange reason here]' and we kept believing that stuff. Because it just had to be like that. They just had to have a reason for doing what they did. And now, somehow they didn't? I just don't get it. But ok, about 6 weeks or so until E3. That may become the most thrilling E3 in ages ...

I have the PS3 as well as the WiiU Version and on the one hand, I now enjoy the WiiU version far more, which is mainly because I like to play with the WiiU far more. On the other hand I gotta say that the PS3 version had a better learning curve for me. The WiiU version sometimes feels like they just implemented anything that would help the casual gamer getting warm with that game, as it's obviously much harder, if you don't have something like the BoostU or the ability to turn off traffic and distrupt the cops. So in the PS3 version I felt much more like finding out how the gamemechanics work and what I got to do to make the best of it. I actually think, they should have dropped most of the gamepad-functions as they don't seem to be integrated into the game as good as they could be. Instead what would have really, really been a WiiU exclusive supercool addition to the game would've been a real 2 Player mode where one player plays on the Pad and the other on the TV.
Still, despite my critique, I still prefer this version as it offers Off TV Play and you get a feeling, that the studio really likes the WiiU and tried to make the best possible port they could. And they did, which wasn't even necessary as this game was already on the PS3 a milestone game.

By the way, look out for the Super Mario Warp Pipes.

@SkywardLink98 indeed they would, but that's not a reason not to do it. Microsoft and Sony lost a lot of money too by doing so and while Nintendo succeeded with their strategy with the Wii, they won't with the WiiU. If they'd put the WiiU down below 199$, the Userbase would grow faster, third parties would get more attracted to the console and in the end, Nintendo would make profit as they'd sell far more of their own games to a bigger audience than they'll do now. Still they'd make a loss with console sales, but come on. Look at the WiiU sales and tell me, that this would be worse than it is now? Microsoft would have had no chance on the console market EVER if they wouldn't have sold the first XBox at a loss. All the time. Even with the XBox 360, it took them years until they made profits. I don't wanna cover pachter but I don't like ignoring some failures nintendo made either.
