Re: Talking Point: Have You Bought A 1TB Micro SD Express Card Yet?

tsela

Coming back to this article to update my comment about the Teamgroup Apex 1TB sd express card not being available in the Netherlands. Well, that has changed, and you can now but it here too... For 777 freaking euros! Are you kidding me? I can nearly buy a PS5 post price increase for that price, no way does this card cost so much to manufacture. Even the AI bubble can't justify that price, it's pure, self defeating greed, because no one in their right mind is going to buy a micro sd card for that price!

Re: Round Up: "Incredibly Compelling" - The Splatoon Raiders Reviews Are In

tsela

I wish that game had a demo. I never got into Splatoon because I'm just not into PvP games at all, but the gameplay itself looks like it could be fun. And since this is a single player experience mostly, it could be right up my alley. But without demo I'm just not going to try it. It costs too much to just take the plunge without first knowing that I can gel with the gameplay.

Re: PSA: New Knockout Tour Rallies Are Now Available In Mario Kart World

Already tried the Drill Rally with my partner and we loved it! What a great addition. We'll try Boomerang Rally later.

And knock it off with the "straights" comments guys. You weren't right a year ago, and you still aren't. The rallies have plenty of curves, even between locations. Those roads on the map do not represent the actual experience you know!

Re: Talking Point: Have You Bought A 1TB Micro SD Express Card Yet?

To drive the point home, I tried to check for that Teamgroup Apex 1tb card from the article. It turns out it's simply not available in the Netherlands. Like, at all! Teamgroup only sells the 256gb and 512gb models here. The cheapest 1tb card available here is the Lexar 1tb, and it's usually €300 or more. Others cost up to €700! And here I thought we had a common market in Europe, but small countries still get the short end of the stick! 😖

Re: Talking Point: Have You Bought A 1TB Micro SD Express Card Yet?

tsela

I want one, badly! My game collection isn't big enough for my 512gb card when things like the FF7 Rebirth demo is already 50gb large! But 1tb sd express cards are crazy expensive here in the Netherlands, and I don't have the budget to spend on an SD card the price of half a Switch 2 after price increase! 😅

Re: Opinion: 30 Years On, I've Finally Come Around On The N64 Pad

tsela

I absolutely love the N64 controller! My favourite will always be the GameCube controller, but the N64 controller is up there as one of the best I've ever had in my hands. I got an N64 just months after it was released and kept playing it until at least a year after the GameCube was released (I couldn't afford one yet at that point). I played nearly daily on that thing, and I never had any problem with the controller. It was sturdy but comfortable, and the stick was fantastic (and people forget how revolutionary it was. Remember the first PS1 controller only had a D-pad and a new version with stick was only released after the N64 proved it was the right fit for 3D games). I only ever had 1 N64 controller, and it kept working fine from the first day I held it in my hands until the last time I used it. No idea what the people who claim it was flimsy and the stick was too fragile were doing with their controllers, but my experience with it has never been anything but great.

And the same is true of the Switch N64 pad. It was really nostalgic when I finally managed to get one, and being wireless made it even better. And for playing N64 games on the Switch there's just nothing better out there.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Play Zelda Games For The Story?

tsela

Yes. I love the Zelda gameplay, but without the story (and I dont just mean the events of the game, story in videogames is much more than just events and cutscenes, it's the world building, the atmospheric storytelling), I wouldn't have a reason to push through. I don't need any award winning narrative, but I do need some incentive to play a game, and a compelling narrative is an incentive. And I really cannot fathom people who play Zelda games but don't care about the story. We've evolved since the times of Zelda 1 and 2 you know. Even LttP had a compelling narrative. But then I hear some people skip cutscenes and dialog and I really can't imagine how it's like to be like this...

Re: NYXI's Hyperion 3 Is, On Paper, The Perfect Joy-Con 2 Alternative

tsela

I got a lot of NYXI stuff for my OG Switch. Loved the GameCube-like joycons (which are still attached to my Switch btw) and the NYXI Warrior (the GameCube like Pro Controller replacement) which I still use as a PC controller.

But without HD Rumble 2 and mouse mode, those are a hard pass for now. Unlike the joycons of the OG Switch the joycons of the Switch 2 are large enough for me, at least for now.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Kirby Air Riders?

tsela

I loved what I saw in the directs and what I played in the demo, but unfortunately I do not have the budget to buy it at full price right now (because I want to get Age of Imprisonment, and maybe MP4 Beyond, first). But I'll definitely get it at some point, hopefully before the end of the year.

So many good games are being released on the Switch 2 at the moment, I have to make hard choices right now...

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Donkey Kong Bananza

tsela

I've had the game since day one, and just passed the title screen yesterday. The game is fantastic! Everything works so well and destroying stuff feels so satisfying! The camera is fine, even in deep tunnels I'd created I could find my way without much of an issue. So far, any issues I could have with it are nitpicks at best, and I just can't ignore the big smile I have at all times while playing the game. Oh, and with headphones on, the sound is incredible!

So I really don't get the 90/100 metacritic score. I'm having more fun with it than I ever had with Odyssey!
