Re: The Nintendo Switch Is Officially Launching In Brazil

@k8sMum, Biden is extraordinarily left wing and socialist. He was in the administration that brought us Obama "care". One the the architects of Obama "care" openly admitted it was meant as a stepping stone to a single payer system. Answer this question since you brought it up. What IS the difference between a democratic socialist and a socialist? Please enlighten me. Side note: I don't support tariffs. Not when Trump supports them and not when Obama did either.

@TG16_IS_BAE if you read the comment from @Bobb right below yours, this is about the government SUPPRESSING the free market through excessive taxation. This is the very thing socialists want to do in America. @Bobb states that the "government taxes about 110% of imported unessential tech goods" in Brazil. "Resellers are forced to ask over double the actual pricing, with little profit." Just wanted to point this out. People who make free market capitalism out to be the bad guy don't realize that the programs that Bernie Sanders and AOC support are the same programs that have destroyed economies across the globe. Free market capitalism has lifted billions out of poverty. But, Bernie, AOC and Biden keep telling America that the reason all those other countries' economies are destroyed is because they didn't do socialism "right." Venezuela, by the way, was the most prosperous Latin American country a few decades ago. Then socialism showed up. Also, the Nordic countries that people point to as "socialism done right" aren't socialist. The Prime Minister of Denmark pointed that out himself. They have huge government programs, but they are free market capitalists.

Re: Talking Point: Has Coronavirus Finally Put E3 Out Of Its Misery?

I basically only care about e3 for Nintendo content. The Direct gives me all the info I need. I watch some of the Treehouse Live segments, but they can get fairly lengthy for my taste. So a live e3 show has been irrelevant to me for years. Sure, I'll watch some trailers for PS 5 and Series X games. I'll look at pictures of the new systems and read tech specs, but I'm also unlikely to buy any of them.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Won't Lock Any Customisation Options Behind Gender

@ivory_soul @Harmonie @Anti-Matter @kenyowa, There are hundreds of millions of people who would agree that gender disphoria is a mental illness (including doctors). To say something is a mental illness is also not bigoted because it isn't hateful or bigoted to point out that someone has an illness. In fact, it is loving. As far as DSM-5 changing their definitions of gender dysphoria, they have their own progressive biases. Additionally, they only made these changes in 2017. Are we saying that our science in the issue was backward and bigoted before 2017? Here's some food for thought on DSM-5. Something to consider. https://youtu.be/oPOxF6m3MV0

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Won't Lock Any Customisation Options Behind Gender

@Harmonie, a child cannot "know they're transgender from a very young age". They can be confused. I've seen little kids who think they are puppies. They aren't. Even if there are adults out there misguided enough to tell them they are or to give them puberty blockers. You're talking about when and where medical intervention should occur for people suffering from gender disphoria. Maybe it shouldn't occur because surgically removing or adding body parts doesn't make a male a female or vice versa, regardless of age.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Won't Lock Any Customisation Options Behind Gender

@kenyowa, again that is making assumptions about me. Truly caring about people with gender disphoria means finding them professional help. It doesn't mean telling a 4 year old boy that he can be a girl if he wants to because that isn't reality. Even if his delusion makes him feel good, it's still unlovin and unhealthy to encourage him in it. I know kids that want cake for breakfast every day. The reality is it will make them ill. I know kids who think that they can touch fire without getting hurt. The reality is they will. Ideas have real world consequences. Owning up to that is the most loving thing you can do. If you think morality is subjective, then you're already saying you have no moral ground to stand on with which to make your comment.

@Anri02, actually I love those I disagree with. Even when they tell me that saying I'm not a bigot makes me sound like a bigot. Socially Conservative and Christian values regularly get attacked as bigotry. And that is shameful because true Christians (even if they disagree with the liberal agenda) are loving. There are plenty of mean people out there, but holding Conservative Christian values doesn't mean someone is bigoted, hateful or mean.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Won't Lock Any Customisation Options Behind Gender

@Anti-Matter Anyone crossdressing in children's games is confusing to children. Especially little kids who are already confused about their gender. You then mentioned situations where crossdressing happens in cultures around the world. However, just because people do something it doesn't mean it's suddenly right. Again, saying doesn't make me a bigot. Maybe more people should care enough about children to not make them part of their hip social experiments.

Re: Nintendo Provides Some Context to 2013's Tomodachi Life Same-Sex Marriage Controversy

travisrusko

Not everyone believes in same-sex marriage, including me. I feel this way because of what God teaches about homosexuality in the Bible. I know that people will be unhappy with that opinion, but I need to remind you that this doesn't make me or anyone opposed to same sex marriage homophobic. Just because I disagree with someone doesn't mean that I hate them (or even dislike them). Am I to assume that everyone who disagrees with me on the same sex marriage issue hates me? I know that is not the case. What ever happened to people being allowed to disagree? Mozilla fires their cofounder and CEO because he supported traditional marriage. He wasn't hating on people that do support it. He was simply living out his right to chose what to support.
NO ONE should hate anyone for their sexuality. I do not condone that and I actually support showing love to everyone. But when did disagreeing with a world view become the same thing as hating the people that hold that world view?
I just wanted to state my view without being hated for it. Does anyone understand that?
