Re: Poll: How Many Hours Have You Spent In Mario Kart World So Far?

robchacot

I’ve never dropped a Mario Kart this quickly (and by extension, the console) before.

Most of my time went into free roam.

Hate artificial boost chase mode (knockout tour) and being forced to “race” on these wide intermission roads in cups, online… everywhere!

I felt like I was forcing myself to play. I just wanted to smash tracks and learn the layouts, but what’s the point when we’re forced onto the road!

Maybe I’m being overly salty, maybe I’ve just “aged-out” of gaming in general, but I am so done with this game.

They didn’t kill the game with the update. It died once the novelty of finally having a new Mario Kart wore off. The kind that gives you buyers remorse.

I haven’t turned the system on for a week, and the week before that was just me chilling in the sandbox and getting medallions.

The circuits are awesome. But endlessly boosting down wide, straight (and boring) highways for the next 5 years? Nah, I’m good thanks.

Re: Nintendo Direct: Mario Kart World: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?

I dont have a problem with the price, it’s heavily discounted with the bundle.

As both console and game are launching on the same day, there is no reason to buy the game a la carte for $80.00 (or your regional equivalent) it seems like reasonable value.

The issue for me is that the more I see of the game, the more I find myself considering cancelling my preorder or selling my Switch 2.

The tracks look extremely uninspiring, the open world is a glorified sandbox and I’m not entirely sure that we’re racing anymore; we just seem to be jumping, bouncing and grinding around wide, straight “courses”.

I hate being that guy, but it’s truly how I feel about the game. Regretful before it’s even released.

Surely I’m not the only one?!

Re: Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Gets A Tasty Limited Time Discount (UK)

They completely messed up the expansion and the virtual consoles tbh. Gamecube is over 20 years old but we still have to pay full price for their remasters instead of giving us the originals. The N64 Online library is pathetic, it's been online for a year now and it's empty!

After this poor effort, it's going to be so difficult to tempt people into a subscription for the next generation of console.

I have been sniffing around the internet for weeks in search of news on the expansion pack, such was my excitement. But why do I have to buy DLC for a game I have no intention of ever owning?!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure Animal Crossing is a swell time. But let the AC lovers buy their DLC and let the rest of us “expand” our retro game collection! Bundling the two together at a higher price isn’t my idea of a Win-Win.

I can afford it but I sure as hell can’t support it. Standard Switch Online it is then.
