It's been 28 years since Blast Corps released and we're long overdue for a sequel/follow-up. It was such a unique game and they've got to be able to improve upon it enough to warrant another go. Honestly, even a remake using the power of modern hardware would be a dream.
I bought Worms Armageddon for PC the day it released way back in 1999 and it remains one of my all-time favorite games! It's in my top three for sure! It's an absolutely sublime game packed with tons of fun and laughs and boasts a stellar soundtrack. I still listen to the soundtrack several times every week. I even picked up the Armageddon pledge of the Worms board game earlier this year and received the shipping notification today indicating it'll arrive on Thursday of this week. So stoked! This news about the anniversary edition is awesome and you can count my money as spent. (Alas! Alack!) If you've never played this game do yourself a favor and play it. It's an absolute BLAST with friends. I recommend it on PC first and foremost but just make sure you play it as you owe it to yourself to experience this masterclass in game design. You won't regret it.
Wetrix was wonderful! Another one of my alltime top 10 games. Literally stumbled on it because I went to buy a game which wasn't there and didn't want to waste the trip so I looked over what was and settled on Wetrix. It's an amazing game!
I've been playing video games since the late 80s and Blast Corps is one of my all-time favorite games easily making my personal top 10 list. It was created during an era full of creativity and the result proves gameplay is better than graphics. The soundtrack to this game is a hidden gem as well and I still listen to it at least once every couple of weeks.
Blast Corps isn't too difficult to "beat" but it's a very difficult game to complete. I purchased Blast Corps when it launched in 1997 and it took me a year to get platinum on every level to finally finish 100% of the game and I loved every second. I will actually be purchasing the expansion pass to play this game again.
Also, if anyone from Microsoft is reading this comment: The world needs more games with this level of creativity and it's high time we get a sequel. The power of modern systems and graphics capabilities would make a new Blast Corps game a truly spectacular experience. Gather up your best programmers and tell them it's time to get moving.
Bowser Castle from Super Mario Kart is my favorite course in the history of all Super Mario Kart! I kept thinking it'd be great but never imagined they'd actually release it. I'm beyond excited!
Now, maybe they'd get on board with releasing all of the courses from previous games in a self-contained DLC pack. I'd buy the SNES Super Mario Kart track DLC in exactly 1/100th of a second!
Tetris Attack! If you haven't played it... play it. If you haven't listened to the soundtrack... do so. The game I wanted to buy wasn't in stock and I didn't want to waste a trip so I bought Tetris Attack because it just stood out for some unknown reason. I was 14 years old and to this day it remains one of my all-time favorite games. Yoshi's Island comes in a solid second place. =)
My Tetris Attack entry didn't make the final cut. =/ I understand there's plenty of good tracks in Mario and Zelda games but having half the list full of them is silly. Should have been more variety. Maybe next time. Aquatic Ambience it is.
There are countless stunning Nintendo music tracks from Mario (Dire Dire Docks), Zelda (A Link to the Past Credits), Donkey Kong Country (Aquatic Ambience) and F-Zero (Time Select) among an endless supply of others.
While these are all worthy I still find myself listening to the entire Tetris Attack soundtrack on a daily basis nearly 27 years after its release. It's a game not too many people are familiar with but it includes an absolutely sublime soundtrack and is worth a listen. For some reason I'd honestly have to admit my favorite track comes from this game.
I'm struggling to pick a single favorite track between Forest Stage, Water Stage, Staff Roll and Special Ending 4. The solution: Play all four for my wife and ask her to pick one.
I increased the difficulty from Medium to Hard as requested. I thought about flagging it as hard when I initially posted it but I wasn't sure if it was appropriate. I appreciate the feedback!

Blast Corps remains my all-time favorite N64 game so I had to go with the North America box. =)

I found this level quite enjoyable. The Mushroom Village shenanigans were clever!
