The number of people in this thread who think that locking people up for recreational marijuana use and justifying it with personal anecdotes and observations is blowing my mind. I’m halfway thinking you guys are part of a gorilla advertising campaign for Half-Life 3.
@AVahne I'm curious about what type of stability issues you have encountered on your 3DS. Personally I have not experienced any over the course of 2 years. My wii U used to lock up occasionally after launch but it's been over a year without any issues there either. Maybe I'm just lucky?
One of my all time favorite NES games. Get 2 people with good skill at this game and you will really have some exciting matches. There is far more strategy burried In this game than the review lets on.
@mystman12 awesome video! It does look like you could have some fun with friends with this thing. Sorta reminds me of that fisher price camera that could record black and white video on audio cassette tapes.
@DerpSandwich I loved the Gameboy Camera! That thing was epic. Too bad all my sticker pictures have faded away over the years.
I have experienced no issues running Burst from my 32 GB SD card. I will get Deep Crimson on day one digitally. So nice to have so many games always on the system. I rarely purchase physical games now a days.
So many people going off topic in this thread and using this as a soap-box for a varity of personal agendas it seems. In any case, the game is a lot of fun for a variety of reasons. Gameplay / Art / Story / Etc. If certain elements are done in a way which does not appeal to you, just skip this title, but don't think that you should be making that decision for others.
Haha. Good ones guys! My bad for setting myself up so easily. What I was going for, was more along the lines of this seemingly socially inept individual, who lives with a hyper-controlling mom who snoops through his stuff. No indication of a girl in real life being involved with this guy, yet he has a bra under his bed. Kinda odd and reminds me of the bra/panty thieves they have in Japan. I contend he uses the bra to assist his gameplay, if you know what I'm saying.
I saw many people playing this in Japanese arcades a few years back. I always wondered how this game worked. It was really cool to see how they would swap cards in and out and move them around the field. I also recall a Gundam game which was very similar.
I actually left the game pad sitting in its stand on the table, safely out of the way of the kids. It actually worked just fine. You see your club and are able to make all the same adjustments. I ended up preferring to play that way and likely will in the future.
This game is surprisingly fun. Once you open up your combo chains to higher levels it gets even better. The voice acting is top notch. All in all, this is a solid buy for anyone even remotely interested in the subject matter.
Played the 24 hour demo this past weekend. Had no issues with control or lag with online matches. Maybe the servers in North America were not as slammed? Overall, it was an enjoyable game and I will definitely consider a purchase.
I have Joysound Karaoke on my Wii (Japanese version) and it has uncensored lyrics to all the songs there. The games works the same way, streaming the tracks from the server on demand. Although its the Japanese version, it has pretty much every english song I could think to query. So this is really nothing new. Just new to the English market I guess. I am certain they are using the same song database for this new iteration of the game.
Also thankful on leaving the Japanese Voice Acting intact. It is always so much better than localized re-dubs. Besides, subtitling has got to be way cheaper than redoing vocals for a game. I'd like to see more games stick to this paradigm.
I have to disagree with the majority on this one. This game is surprisingly fun for me. The controls are simple, but with practice you can definitely implement strategy in your play style. Are there better Tennis games out there? Totally, but this game is a classic from a simpler time and is quite fun after you get the hang of it and learn to smash.
@unrandomsam Stolen Brittish IP? Oh, you mean the tea? Well we didn't really want it and decided to toss it in Boston Harbor. What exactly is this Brittish IP you speak of? Sorry to be rather flip, but to compare the US to china is laughable and offensive.
This thread has some really good descriptive comments. Love it... unfortunately I do not love what I am seeing with this game. On the bright side, I now feel that I may have what it takes to develop a game for the Wii U if this game is getting serious consideration...
Yakuza 2 is one of my all time favorites. Love how detailed the Osaka parts were. I actually went to the Namba location in real life and practically knew were to go due to playing the heck out of that game. I was really looking forward to playing an HD version. Perhaps ill snag the PS3 import since its region free.
I picked one up from Block Buster Video here in the U.S. They had several units that could be rented out but no one really cared. I got it pretty cheap too. I think it was about $50 for everything and came with 5 games. All in a very nice and rugged plastic case. I break it out every now and again. The 3D effect is very good actually. Red Alarm is the star. Golf is also pretty cool. More for the 3D scenery.
It seemed like everyone of those games was being booted up for the first time. Assuming the pirate lady had run through this process at least once prior to filming, there should have been some existing save data already present on the cards. These games would be unusable in any serious fashion if you can't save. Let's just hope that is the case. This really sucks...
This is my favorite game series. I have played all of the titles and really enjoy the story and gameplay. If this does come west, I sure hope they follow up with an un-edited Yakuza 3 since we never got that one here.
Imagine you are watching a Television program and you use the TVii app to find something else to watch. You might see suggestions which come from Hulu, Cable, Amazon Prime, and now Netflix too. Selecting a title which comes from Netflix would then launch the Netflix app. Just as it would launch the Amazon Prime app had the content come from there.
The ability to play back Blu-ray and DVD discs requires licensing agreements with the respective encryption associations. It would mean every Wii U sold would have to pay fees to the various organizations. Tack on support Dolby Digital, THX, etc and the licensing fees can start to add up. By not supporting Disc playback they avoided all of that. Its not about keeping people locked into games its about profits. Since most people already have a means to play both of those formats it wasn't seen as a feature which would drive more sales of the Wii U and would certainly hurt the bottom line, or else they would need to charge more for the device.
I believe that what this means is that Netflix suggestions will be aggregated into the TVii content search. Once selected, if a title came from Netflix, it would launch the Netflix app. So, this update is for content discovery only.
