There's an easy solution to the Gamecube control issue: Just get a Dual Shock 2 controller and a CG to DS2 adapter and play it that way. Problem solved!
This game is break your teeth hard! If only for the limited continues. Has anyone beaten it yet? I was only able to do it once so far.
The good news is I've found the perfect control set up for this game (next to a Wii arcade stick) and it involves a Street Fighter controller and a CG to PS2 converter.
Quite frankly, it wouldn't be fair to compare SS with SC. The only thing they have in common is that you use weapons. If you're not sure about downloading, just wait until the Anthology comes out.
I just did a recommended games search on Nintendo Channel from females of all ages and according to the (four?) girl gamers who voted, Street Fighter II Turbo is suited for all everyone 3 to 1 and casual minded players also 3 to 1. Also, interestingly enough, it was the only fighting game on the list of search results. Curious....
According to Gamespot, it's do to release in Q4 of this year. Plus, there's a video where they talk to the games' developer/publisher so I'm going by them.
As far as the gore, I haven't seen anyone split in half either but I did see the blood geyser fatalities.
@Jogurt the Yogurt: You hit the nail right on the head!
I'm seriously considering getting Samurai Shodown even with the Anthology coming out. I know I should wait but it's kind of a ways off. And I want to have the extra satisfaction of playing one of my favorite fighters on my Wii.
The biggest problem I have with not knowing the release dates in advance is budgeting my Wii points. If we had the release dates a month in advance like they do in Japan I would be more likely to get a game if I know when it's coming out because I can figure out how many points I need for the month they come out. The way things are now there is a small chance that I could use up all my points on one game and a better game could come out the next week when I don't have any points left.
@ Tony: I can assure you that Nintendo wouldn't dare start pulling games from the service; at least not until they provide a dedicated storage solution.
I've been trying understand why everyone was praising this game so much when I thought it was just mediocre. But when I saw Garlyle's comment I think it's because there are so few RPG's on Virtual Console with no other games to compare it to. There are so many better games that have yet to come out!
I'm confused. The Nintendo Channel was updated this week but I didn't get any messages about it. How am I supposed to know when the channel gets new updates?
The quote at the end pretty much sums up my opinion about Art of Fighting 2. The game is visually stunning and holds up quite well today but playing against the AI is a real chore.
lol I chuckled a few times reading that article. I guess it's a good thing the joystick is only available online as I would probably get some weird looks if I were to go to a retail store asking the guy behind the counter if he had a "black shaft"
1. Dracula X Rondo of Blood - TGCD 2. Secret of Mana - SNES 3. Super Mario RPG - SNES 4. G.I.Joe - NES 5. Batman - NES I would also lilke to see: Battletoads and Double Dragon, Earthbound, More Neo Geo games, Castlevania III, and Shadow Dancer.
I would have to agree. A two out of five does seem pretty harsh even if the game is not as good as the first two. Just out of curiosity, what rating would you give the japan version?
It is called MVS and it stands for Multi Video System(?). Its the name of the arcade cabinets that the Neo Geo games were housed in. There's a whole article about the Neo Geo on the site.
Before I had ever seen Rolling Thunder, Super Ranger(?) was one of my favorite games back when I was first getting into videogames. It plays the exact same way as RT except the graphics and characters look much different. I remember playing the original in the arcade (though not getting very far). I may download this when it comes stateside.

Re: USA VC Update: Sonic (Master System) and Splatterhouse 2
Wow. This is too much! It's a good thing this is such a great summer for gaming, otherwise I'd probably be going crazy over this too.
Re: US VC Releases - 14th July - Donkey Kong 3
Didn't know there was a third Donkey Kong game...

Re: Fatal Fury 2
I'm going to wait until Fatal Fury Special comes out. Unless I can get a copy of Battle Archives Vol.1 for $10...
Re: USA WiiWare Update: Magnetica Twist
News flash! Magnetica Twist is good.
Re: US VC Release - 30th June - Fatal Fury 2
I'll take two and three game weeks over one game a week... any week!
@Tony: I just got Vector Man and VM 2 (and a bunch of other Genesis games) for $10 from Gamestop last week. All you need is a PS2...
Re: Mega Man 9 Is Coming To WiiWare In Retro Style
I don't know about the 8-bit graphics but other than that...
HELL YEAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!
Re: Samurai Shodown
@Adroitone: Whats wrong with KoF 2002? That was actually one of my favorites.

This must be why the blue light was flashing earlier...

That sounds like ringing endorsement right there!

Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - June 2008 (Super Mario RPG!)
The Transformers game gives me hope that we'll get G.I. Joe for the NES. Also, how the hell is SMRPG licensed?! I thought Nintendo owned the rights.
Re: WiiWare World Finds Fame On German TV!
I noticed the site isn't optimized for the Wii browser like VC reviews is. Is that in the works?

Beware of Eiji Kisaragi!

@ sephiroth79: It looks like they did a word for word translation of the dialog.
Not that I'm complaining but what happened to the first one?
Re: Protothea
The graphics look XBLA quality.
I will be keeping an eye on this one.

Re: New name for Dr. Mario WiiWare
I've only seen the game in the opening video. Does it have it's own "page" too?
Re: Top 20 'popular titles' on the Virtual Console - April 2008 (USA)
Shoot! I'm more interested in the 21 through 50 list.
Re: Alex Kidd in Miracle World
His head looks like a catcher's mit with an eye and a mouth at 2:20!
Re: Capcom To Lend Support To WiiWare
Mega Man for WiiWare!!
Re: Will Sega CD Support Ever Come To The Virtual Console?
I wonder how hard (or easy) it would be to clean up the grainy FMV on some of these games...
Re: Nintendo Power Poll - What Games Do You Want To See?
I also forgot to mention two very important titles; Battle Clash and Metal Combat for the SuperNES. Gotta show some Super Scope love!
Re: Cho Aniki
LOL Yeah, I've seen some of the later versions and to tell you the truth, I wish I hadn't.
Re: Gradius II: Gofer no Yabou
DESTROY THE CORE!
Re: Nintendo Power Poll - What Games Do You Want To See?
1. Dracula X Rondo of Blood - TGCD
2. Secret of Mana - SNES
3. Super Mario RPG - SNES
4. G.I.Joe - NES
5. Batman - NES
I would also lilke to see:
Battletoads and Double Dragon, Earthbound, More Neo Geo games, Castlevania III, and Shadow Dancer.
Re: Virtual Boy Confirmed for Virtual Console
Under real world circumstances yes. But on the Internet it is more effective to do it before everyone knows what day it is.
Good one by the way.
Re: Virtual Boy Confirmed for Virtual Console
Normally yes. But on the Internet it is much more effective to do it before April 1st.
Good one though.
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - April 2008
(gasps)
RONDO OF BLOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Virtual Console Top 20 - March 2008 (EU)
Out of both those lists (which are practically identical), I have downloaded a total of three games!

Re: Eternity’s Child Confirmed as WiiWare
I would bet that they are going to come out with some kind of expandable solution this year. They have to!!

Re: Dragon's Curse
Holy crap! This was on Game Gear too?!!! How the hell did I miss it?
Re: EU VC Releases - 14th December - Mega Man 2
Its a good thing we've got Mega Man Anniversary Collection available on all last gen consoles in the U.S.

Re: Eternal Champions
I was wondering... Does this game use six buttons? If so, how could you play it with the Wii remote?
Re: US VC Releases - 3rd December - Eternal Champions
I was almost certain we were getting a NeoGeo game this week...
