Re: Talking Point: The 2017 Role of the 3DS Was Established in its Nintendo Direct

Sorry @Bolt_Strike, you got a lot of hate in this thread, but I can feel your sympathies. The reuse of games (minus pikman) feels like 3DS titles are getting mundane in 2017. @Anti-Matter I appreciate your perspective too. It was odd to me that in the direct they keep talking about 2017 games but in the end they only listed 3, I feel like they want to show a sales case for the 3DS one more year, until the NX has built some momentum and takes over both Wii U and 3DS, just my thoughts.

@Angelic_Lapras_King Good Point, I guess it worked as well with Wii and Wii U. I guess it's an oddity that Wii U is dying such a hard death, but probably a good thing

@Antray1984 lol to knowing what NX actually is. Before the NX is revealed, there should be a competition to see who can get closest to what it actually is. I thought the IR controller system from the patents was legit but more recently the report about controllers that will replace the wii remotes seems to contradict. Do you know the best place for a list?

Re: Fresh Nintendo Patents Reinforce Concept of NX Featuring Detachable Controllers

Wow this is so cleaver! There is a camera on the side of the unit that captures hand motions (...2678/0007) and also captures button pushes and dial rotations. With this in mind, I would hesitate to think that the controllers can work apart from being connected to the unit, like I have seen some concepts. Instead, disconnected = unusable. However really really cheap attachments can be made to play a game, could be really diverse.

Re: Game Boy Advance Games On The Wii U Virtual Console Are Single Player Only

Bummer, I feel like my hopes often get let down by Nintendo of late. But this does makes sense. They probably do not have the online space/man power given that their online is free (aka to be used sparingly) to provide these online multiplayer experiences. I think I would have liked one or two games that had an online experience rather than the whole lot we are getting, but that is just me.

@JaxonH I did not realize the number of games scheduled for 2014. However I would say that the schedule proposed is a bit optimistic. @IceClimbers is another good attempt, but I think it also is a bit optimistic. What I mean by optimistic is that both show a balance released schedule every month or so. I think the reason most if not all those games are saying 2014 is because they will sadly be released late Q3 or Q4 of 2014. But we will see at E3. Here is how I see it (as I read it from other articles about these games).
May - MK8
June - None
July - Hyrule Warriors??? (possibly here as a title to fill the summer so that there is no drought of games for wii u, not saying it won't be good, but maybe not AAA, seems a bit hurried in development)
August - None
September - Bayonetta 2 - "Later this year"

  • Project CARS - "Fall 2014"
October - Fast Racing Neo (eShop)
    Monolith Soft's X
    November - Sonic Boom
December - Smash Bros - In time for Christmas, possibly Wii u only
    2015
    Watch Dogs - "2014 release possible" - more than likely Q1 2015
    Unnamed Exclusive - Spring 2015
September to November is a guess for me. The only ones I am more certain on are Watch Dogs, Hyrule Warriors and Smash Bros, but we will see.
