April Fools' Day has begun, or at least that's how we're interpreting the latest shenanigans from Google. With 1st April rolling around in some countries, there is now playable Pac-Man embedded into Google Maps, which is certainly a fun way to waste time and get directions all at once.
When you head to Google Maps there's a Pac-Man logo at the bottom left, and when you click on it you'll see the area you're viewing get turned into the classic Bandai Namco arcade game. If your map doesn't have enough roads, Google will sort it out for you.

It's a neat homage to the mascot, who recently played a starring role in the Super Smash Bros. cast. It's a big year for the ghost gobbler, too, as it'll celebrate its 35th anniversary in May.
You can play this for free now, so have at it!

Neat!
This is pretty cool, but it will never be as cool as last year's Pokemon Hunt
@PokeMarioR Agreed, last years Pokemon hunt was the best. Playing pacman on my street and other crazy places has been fun. I wonder where people will find the craziest spot...
I tried Spaghetti Junction. It was considerably more disappointing than I was expecting it being. Apart from that, great idea, Google!
The icon isn't appearing?
And the amount of work I got done today significantly decreased.
Wow, that's pretty cool.
Am I the only one who felt some serious input lag while playing this? I'm unable to turn corners with any accuracy because of this.
And by input lag I meant the keyboard.
@Scary_Old_Lady You have to zoom in to a spot.
Note to self: don't go anywhere or get on the internet tomorrow, April 1st.
I love it when Pac-Man takes over google
Not as practical as I thought. I tried it at different parts in LA and it was very hard to finish.
Great .Tried it in Liverpool and it was too easy.
