As a 41 year old father of 2 young children, who commutes to work on a train, this really hit home for me! Most of my gaming is done either on the commute or late in the evening (once my children have gone to bed). Though my eldest (4.5 years old) has now got the hang of playing simple 2D co-op games with me (like Kirby Return to Dreamland or TMNT Shredder's revenge), which is a wonderful experience for us both.
Note - I wouldn't dream of playing my switch on the train without my headphones in! I also wish I saw more middle aged commuters playing a Switch on the train...
And I'd be a bit embarrassed to shout ‘yes’ or laugh out loud at something in the game in such a public space. However, I couldn't stop myself laughing out loud playing Bayonetta 3 - during the ‘Why Don't You Sit For Mummy’ scene...
I own an original NES plus an Analogue Nt Mini Noir (with my original copy of SMB 1/Duck Hunt from the 80s). I have it on my 3DS too, plus the NES Mini and a variety of handheld emulators and a Retropie... BUT more often than not, if I want to blast through a few levels of SMB 1, I'll just connect my NSO NES Classic Controller to my Switch and play via NSO. Quick, easy and great emulation (with save states). Never underestimate convenience!
I’m a parent of a 2 year old. My wife and I work full time and between running the house, working, looking after our child (and dog) there isn’t as much time to play games nowadays.
I squeeze in some game time when I can - but have to accept that a 60hr JRPG is something I may never finish (which still didn't stop me buying Persona 5 Royale - doh!)
I started BOTW in March 2020. I’m still playing it now a year later (done 3 of the 4 divine beasts if you're wondering).
But while my time is limited (and my Switch/PS4 backlog is bigger than ever) that doesn't mean I don't enjoy myself when I do get to play. I love gaming as much as I ever did, I just have to make good use of my time.
And best of all my 2.5 year old daughter is now starting to show an interest in some of the games. She loves to sit on my laps and watch colourful platformers like Ori or grab the stylus and create some chaos on Mario Maker (she placed so many Boos on one level that we reached the limit for number of enemies - I didn't even know that was possible!)
There are plenty of games I may now never finish, but that hasn’t stopped me enjoying the time I put into them (and really isn't that all that matters?)
3D World + Bowser's Fury and Pokémon Snap are pretty locked in so no issues there. Who can really say what is happening with Metroid Prime 4 though?
Breath of the Wild 2 would be a wonderful treat for 2021 but I think there is an acceptance among fans that it may well slip to Q1 or 2 in 2022.
So where does that leave us for the rest of 2021 for Nintendo first party titles?
We’re all expecting Something for the Zelda 35th anniversary. Plus there are lots of rumours of a Pokémon Diamond And Pearl remake. WarioWare is long overdue a Switch title and for some reason we still don’t have Earthbound on the Switch’s SNES line-up.
Speaking of Nintendo Switch Online - I’d love to see a new console added in 2021 to complement the NES and SNES. My preference would be Game Boy.
Will be exciting to see what gets announced in the coming months.
Analogue are not entirely blameless here. Apart from the poor (or lack of) communications - the fact is they could hire a proper UK/EU distributor for their products. That would mean the import costs would be paid by them - rather than the customer. This may increase the face value of the product for us - but at least we’d know what we were paying from the outset - rather than getting a nasty surprise months down the line.
Bottom line - for now, avoid Analogue products if you live in the UK/EU.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Switch 2's Next Exclusive 'Drag x Drive'?
This should have been an add-on for Switch Sports, not a standalone game.
Re: Sonic Origins Plus Physical Listing Says New Content Is "Downloadable Via Included Code"
Is Sonic Origins Plus not coming to the eShop? I can only see a listing for the regular version.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's GBA Library With Three Super Mario Games
These are nice to have - but I was hoping we'd have at least one of the GBA Fire Emblems on NSO by now...

Re: Huge Nintendo Switch Festive Sale Sees More Than 700 Games Discounted By Up To 80% (Europe)
I picked up Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, Gris and Sayonara Wild Hearts. Between that and Pokemon Sword that’s me busy for the Christmas break!
