I usually don't care for things like this since they seem to have little effect, but this campaign has had crazy exposure and has actually helped raise a ton of money for the cause. I will be ecstatic if Reggie gets in on the action.
I fully expect this to be fairly mindless. Most of the side-scrolling beat 'em ups and hack an' slashes were much the same way. The appeal is in feeling like the ultimate badass by mowing down waves of mooks all by your lonesome. If this game can give me that, with some great variety of characters, it'll meet my expectations just fine.
I think Nintendo absolutely nailed it this year. The direct had very few lulls to it, and all the new games were great. The steady stream of demos throughout the show were much appreciated and the Smash tournament was an awesome gesture.
I can't say they won all of E3 since I didn't pay attention to Sony and MS and can't properly compare, but in terms of my personal satisfaction they won it all.
@khululy I hear that. I think that's the other part people like about sim games. Things move forward at the speed they want them to. If you want to stop and dink around without worrying about things like job and family you can with little penalty and no guilt trips.
I think the addictive fun of life Sim games is experiencing life at a breakneck pace. Most Sim games allow you to do things in a few hours of game time that would take you months or even years in real life like making friends, pursuing a career, building a house, getting married, etc. And if it all goes sour or you just get bored with it you can start all over and do something new with nothing lost except time you probably would have spent on other games anyways.
Thought this might be good as a download title to flip open when I want a break from whatever regular game card I had at the time. Looks like the review confirms that.
@Darknyht Yeah, don't feel bad. I don't think I ever beat the final boss of Legend II without using the Game Genie code that started out all your party characters with like 1,400 HP each.
I've never played a DW, but I find myself hotly anticipating this one. The power of Zelda I guess. I'm just hoping for lots of series playable characters.
The majority of the characters (if you don't count the babies) aren't even human and thus are race neutral. Squeezing diversity into a fantasy world that thrives on unrealistic characters is a pretty high demand.
I love everything this woman touches. Makes me want to play the game even more. I've already downloaded it; I just need to finish Mario 3D World's Crown World first....Yeah, this may take a while...
I completely forgot about SP points most of the time. It was never an essential part of any battle strategy I had and a lot of the time the only reason I even used one was because my finger accidentally hit the start button. They aren't at all necessary to play the game and I had my settings on normal up until CH5 and beyond.
@PrincessEevee9 It was one of those things that was cool the first time but became a mind boggling momentum killer every time you used it after that. The whole thing is like a minute and a half long and you couldn't skip it.
Since her childhood was my childhood (sans the physical abuse thankfully) this video struck a chord with a me. Definitely interested to see where he goes.

Re: Gallery: A Closer Look at the Six New amiibo Figures
My Zelda fanboy heart leans toward the Princess, but man Captain Falcon has some awesome boots.

It's so prettyyyyy..... Kind of an evolution of Skyward Sword's style. Wish we had story details.

Re: Talking Point: Just How Similar Are Tomodachi Life And Animal Crossing?
I'm really tempted to give this a try. I've avoided Animal Crossing for fear I'd get lost in busy work, but T LIfe seems to be appealing to me.

So goofy, I couldn't help but smile. The Peach = Zelda was a clever joke.
