Re: A Group Of Fans Are Resurrecting Lost Rare N64 Title Dinosaur Planet As An Animated Series

VanillaLake

@Damo Always good to see articles about Rare.

@Jin15 It's my favourite Star Fox game as well.

@Yalaa I agree. While it's true that Star Fox Adventures has little in common with Star Fox 64, it's one of the best GameCube games, one of the best adventures I've ever played and the quality in sound and visuals can't be taken for granted. Typical of Rare, in between. I'm also curious about how the game would have been without Star Fox but Rare managed to mix dinosaurs and Fox very well. You are also right about rushing the game a little bit, I didn't want the game to end so soon.

@Rin-go Don't you have anything better to do? Stop lying and manipulating my comments. If they want to say something, let them say it, don't act like their lawyer defending them of users disagreeing with their writings. I am not talking about them personally (LIKE YOU ARE DOING), I am talking about some of their writings. I am not the topic, I just post my opinions about the topic in question without insulting and harassing anybody. DEAL WITH IT. I could also make multi accounts like some of you and annoy you but I have better things to do in my life. Play Federation Force or talk about the topic but ignore me already.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@Rin-go You are so funny. Stop lying, man, that nose... You are the only one calling crazy the reviewer. I respect everybody, do the same thing and stop quoting separate sentences as if disagreeing with a review was the end of the world. Grow up. If you need other users (or other accounts) to defend your false accusations doesn't make your points any more valid.

Re: Round Up: Metroid Prime: Federation Force Predictably Divides Opinion

VanillaLake

As some people have already explained, in general, Nintendo Life reviews Nintendo games through rose-coloured glasses which is fine as long as readers knows that, thus the high scores and the isolated and somehow distorted perception of the games and why some things are exaggerated and others are ignored. If you check other websites that are not Nintendo-focused the reviews are more objective and are more helpful if you need some unbiased impressions before making a purchase rather than just fan satisfaction.

Most probably, the game is not so bad, but too much praise coming from one side while many other reviews state the opposite is meaningful. I can see why most fans are disappointed: the visual style, the radical change of gameplay and the lack of a playable Samus can't be welcomed by everybody. When Metroid Prime 2 (best Metroid game for me, but just because I started with Metroid Prime) launched, a multiplayer mode was included. It seems that Federation Force should be an extra mode within a Metroid Prime game because, even though it's a portable game, Metroid Prime Hunters showed more ambition in a much weaker system. I'm not against Federation Force, I just think it's using the Metroid Prime brand in a very cheap way. If it was a downloadable game with another name nothing of this would have happened. Just don't expect Metroid Prime fans like me to be very happy with a mediocre spin-off game marketed as the next real thing after nine years of waiting.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

Talk about whatever you want regarding the game and let people have their own opinion. Stop the personal harassment and hating, it's pointless, I won't bite, I'll just report those comments and you'll get banned eventually. Let's move on and stay on topic. RESPECT other people if you want people to respect you. I'm not the topic, Metroid Prime Federation Force is the topic. Talk about it. Or just play it.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@BiasedSonyFan @WiltonRoots I think you guys should stop personal speculations about me already. I often post here for some years now, if I don't post every 5 minutes every day it's just because I have a life. Please stay on-topic and stop condemning people that seems to disagree with you, with the game or with the review. The comments section is not for that.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@Rin-go Are you serious? I haven't done anything wrong, I just stated my opinion, nobody should be harassed because of that. Please stop the manipulation and have some common sense if you can, which seems unlikely after seeing the way you distort reality every time I talk to you. Read the whole thread before jumping into that kind of conclusions. You don't sound informed at all.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@Shiryu OK, I'm going to edit my message to reflect that since that would be more accurate. I love the SNES. It's also childhood nostalgia but not just that. It sounds incredibly well, what a sound chip! The GBA sound is rubbish in comparison. Too bad the FX chips are not well emulated and thus not even Nintendo is able to release FX games downloads.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@Shiryu SNES is the best console ever and Super Mario World is the best game ever. I really like your peaceful attitude and you sound like a good guy but truth be told the problem is (and you can see it here) when people are hateful and disrespectful to other users. It shouldn't really matter if some users like the game/review and some don't, that's perfectly normal and logical. I don't know what attitudes you are referring to on your comments but since it's not really clear I just wanted to point out that it's fine to disagree as long as you are not attacking other users personally. And people shouldn't mix ignorant trolls with gamers with a lot of gaming experience that are just being critical.

@Utena-mobile Just summon Star Fox Zero's spirit and it might happen.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@merrygorndoflife Actually, I didn't know this dude until @UmbreonsPapa mentioned him. I just visited his Twitter and I read some tweets like that one and the "Metroid is Dead" retweet. I thought they were just trying to be funny, I had not read the answers by then.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@BiasedSonyFan Have you made any retraction about your false accusations? I think that sentence is good in its context, it's just a natural reaction to the review, no offence intended. I really didn't overthink my first reaction because I think people like natural reactions anyway. Much worse things have been said.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@BiasedSonyFan I want to stop it here because we are not reaching a middle point and you don't really want to have any discussion. The Community Rules don't say that I have to agree with all Nintendo Life reviews. You are lying when you're saying I can't have discussions, I have had lots of discussions here without any problem with everybody but just ONE person. I respect the review and I respect Gonçalo, I could even be his friend, who knows, but that doesn't mean that I have to agree with what he writes. We two can't have any discussion because you don't really want to respect my point of view, so let's stop it here.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@BiasedSonyFan You are confused but at this point I think you won't ever know why. I can dislike your opinion and still respect it. That simple. Get it. Because I respect other people's opinions I can have discussions with many people in here and I feel free to express mine. The problem is that you don't seem to understand.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@merrygorndoflife No. I was told by Alex I could correct and warn people (coincidentally, it was this same person) before reporting them if they are being a hater and a flamer. I can also request them to stop. I did exactly that in comment #357: "It's you again. I was hoping you let me be this time" and I confirmed my report in my comment #363 because I got a second nasty answer aimed personally at me. I haven't talked with him at all, I just followed those steps. Read the Community Rules or ask moderators if you want to be sure about what can be done and what can be not.

This is not the first time he does this with me and other people and Nintendo Life should do something about it like they did with Diortem or Vandy.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@BiasedSonyFan LOL You are taking it out of context. I still think so, not about all of them but of course some of them can't be taken seriously. It doesn't mean that I don't respect others' opinions. I'm just saying that I can't make my purchases based on Nintendo Life reviews and that I don't take every Nintendo Life review seriously. Plenty of people think so, in between. You're making a drama out of it.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@BiasedSonyFan What I can say about that is that I don't agree with some reviews and I do agree with others. I haven't been specially harsh with Metroid Prime Federation Force yet, but do you agree that Metroid Prime Federation Force is worse than the other Metroid Prime games? Do you agree about Metroid Prime Federation Force not being really a Metroid Prime game? What does the universal praise that the Metroid Prime games received even if you don't agree with all reviews? What do the mixed reviews that Metroid Prime Federation Force has received mean?

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@merrygorndoflife Because I don't want to have any words with somebody that is being disrespectful and harassing other users, flaming the thread with negativity and insults, can't deal with opinions that are different from his and manipulate others' comments. @gcunit wants me to do exactly what I did, that's why I don't understand that he puts us all in the same bag when it's obvious that only he was flaming and being disrespectful with the others and also asking for bans to people that have not been disrespectful at all (like myself). I am not going to act like him (and I haven't in spite of his flaming) but I won't accept flaming and hating comments towards any users either. You can't find any comment of mine being disrespectful (and if you do tell me which one) but just have a look at his:

#83, 151, 345, 356, 360, 367, 369, 370, 376, 380, 391, 404.

Everybody has an opinion and I'm perfectly fine with that, just read the thread and see. What shouldn't be tolerated is flaming and hating comments.

Plus, the thread was peaceful until then, except for @Diortem's controversy.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@BiasedSonyFan Not just one game, but I don't remember all the scores at the moment. You can ask me about particular games, if you want. I'll say my honest opinion. Yeah, I think Maiden of Black Water is underrated. For instance, Eurogamer's girl said "Avoid (0)" and anyone that likes survival horror knows how ridiculous her review is.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@Rin-go Thing is, when you post reviews on a website you should expect some people to agree and some people to not agree. You are wrong to think that people who don't agree with Nintendo Life at some points or don't like a particular game don't like Nintendo.

@huxnny Exactly. We should report those flaming and hating comments that are aimed at users.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@Wexter If Next Level Games is reading this, I should say for the 354th time that I love Luigi's Mansion 2. Actually, I think it's better than Luigi's Mansion, but I miss the second analogue stick, it should be optional for Circle Pad Pro/New 3DS.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

VanillaLake

@TrueWiiMaster Actually, in my comment #295 I was saying that gaming scores are higher than what you would get at school. 50% is okay at school (enough to pass) but 50% is a bad score for gaming sites. Therefore, 69% is not a great score for a game, but it would be a great score to get at university.
