Re: Virtual Console Reviews is Two Today!

The_shoemaker

Happy Birthday. Although I haven't been here much lately, I've mostly been on the Virtual Console Forums, this still has remained my number 1 resourse for virtual console news. It seams like it was only yesterday we were celibrating the 1 year anniversary. Here's to another great year.

Re: Review: Helix (WiiWare)

@ Wiiloveitonline

It's not like DDR or anything, you just stand in one place and move your arms, it's quite fun. But you will need a tall roof, at least one that you can't touch with your hands when your standing on the floor. (I almost knocked my light out today.) But I really do love it. The music is great, and I really do feel the burn when playing. But I have to agree, you should remember to stretch before you play. But I would have paid a few more points for something like a story mode. Going to club to club, show everybody how it's done. But I know this game was big enough already, I doubt they'd be able to fit even a few more songs in it. Great Game GhostFire, i look forward to your next ones.

Re: Mega Man 9 Is Coming To WiiWare In Retro Style

The_shoemaker

The graphics style is very bold. This is another thing that 360 owners will laugh about. silly 360 owners, taking graphics over game play. Although I feel like 16 bit graphics would have been better, but I have a feeling were gonna see some impressive 8 bit graphics from capcom

Re: Eternity's Child - No Plans For A North American Release

The_shoemaker

I'm deaply confused. Eternitys Child was my most wanted game. And for some reason I can't bring myself to play PC games so Wiiware was kinda my only option. Although I'm pretty sure when the sales stack up in Europe, that (can't remembers it's name so I'll say A8) A8 will decide to bring the wiiware version to the states, or whatever company that does it.

Re: LostWinds Nominated For Develop Awards

The_shoemaker

they deserve it. lets hope to a slightly bigger lost winds 2! Lost winds was a good length, but this time I'm hoping it will take me 6 hours instead of four. Also I'd like to see the same power ups, as long as harder enemies, more things to collect, and well, that's about it, everything else was perfect.

Re: Defend Your Castle

The_shoemaker

lol go on www.google.ca and search "search chuck Norris" lol

Anyways @knuckles

Yeah I think I'm gonna download this one, and use a few points for DLC for MLAAK, and save the rest.

Re: Toki Tori

The_shoemaker

I'm thinking about getting this one, but I'm waiting for some developer to make a 3d adventure game...

Re: Protöthea

The_shoemaker

Well the video on this site doesn't make the graphics look too impressive. But this might be my sort of game. I've never tried a shooter before, and this one looks like it's just the right pace. The music is cool too. I'm not really a fan of Star Soldier R's major shooting and how you can only play for two or five minutes, so I avoided buying that one.

Re: Pirates: The Key of Dreams

The_shoemaker

lol I like how whenever you get a peice of information, some random Pirate says arrrrr. Gamplay wise, it looks interesting. I'm not exactly sold on the game yet. I'll need a good old fansion Demon review to help me decide.

Re: Gravitronix

The_shoemaker

I wish more information was released about this game. I keep getting the feeling that i'm really interested in this game to find out i know next to nothing about it.

Re: Bomberman

The_shoemaker

I can't say I'm too interested in this game. Although that's what I said about Dr. Mario, and look at me now, I just donwloded it yesterday. I think aall wiiware games deserve a second look.

Re: World of Goo

The_shoemaker

That new video looks awesome. and yeah the music and graphics remind me a lot of Nightmere before christams. I'm gonna have to get this game sooner or later.

All hail wiiware!

Re: LostWinds

The_shoemaker

ANEUDY

Yeah it's the same $%^& as VC

Anyways I just got it, so far it's loads of fun. I can tell though it's gonna take me more than 4 hours to beat. mostly just because it's just so fun to just walk around. You can just play with the wind, move around the rocks, see what you can move, and just stare at the beautyful graphics. Seriuosly, I just spent like 30 minutes just moving a rock up a hill, just for fun. Of course as you progress you get the nice little bit of story and new powerups, which are always good. It really like how everything is and feels. The area just kinda feels like a forgotten land, the music adds to it so well. But of course if your a kind of person who just does exactly waht your suposeed to do, your gonna beat this game in 2-3 hours. But lostwinds is really just nice to play around with. It's worth 100 points. Heck I'd pay 1500 for this game.

Re: Dr. Mario Online RX

The_shoemaker

I got it yesterday. It's loads of fun, classic and Virus Buster are both equally great. I can't beleve I ued to think that Dr. Mario would be the biggest waste of points ever.

Re: Dr. Mario Online RX

The_shoemaker

I got the demo of the game and played a few online matches. That was my first time playing a Dr. Mario game, and now I can barely wait until I get some more wii points.

Re: Pop

The_shoemaker

I play pop every day. Usually once in the morning and once at night. I play for about 30mins each time, but I never get bored. Pop is something different something new. It's just a great wiiware game, I'm glad I chose it over defend your castle.

In the worldwide rankings I'm in 704th place, that's a big jump since last week I was 1531st place!

lol IGN seams to hate the things I love about this game!

Re: Dr. Mario Online RX

The_shoemaker

Dr. Mario is second on my must have wiiware games at the moment. So far I want lostwinds more. But this will be my first Dr. Mario ever, so I'll probably have fun, I'm hoping someone will send me a demo first though.

Re: Major League Eating - New Screenshots And Video

The_shoemaker

Well Now that there's more information on the game I'm slightly more interested. But looking at all of the other wiiware releases, I highly dount I'll get this game. Plus it looks like a multiplayer would be the funnest part, and I don't have anyone to play with. If it was online that would be different, but it still wouldn't change my mind.

Re: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King

Objection Blaster

I'm replying to most of your posts.

Although some bosses and missions look easy, they arn't as easy as they look. I had to level my guy up to level 18 to get a material from a level 2 temple. If you want to help your adventures, maybe raise their pay, move them to a different job, try more easier behests, talk to them every day, raise their morale every day, and such. The happier the kingdom, the happier your people. Or maybe give them a holiday, then they can rest and do whatever. And when your adventuers are about to sign up for a behest, if they have a blue sad face over top of them, always tell them to go rest, they'll do better the next day.

Also I'm trying to get three morale spheres, but i can only get two, and I have no Idea how I got another one.

Re: Defend Your Castle

The_shoemaker

This game looks like pop. Fun for short burat. Maybe 30 minutes a day. But I can see myself getting this game sometime in the near future.

Re: Critter Round-Up

The_shoemaker

I watched a video of this on the Nintendo channel, it looks, not 4/10 worthy. It looks maybe 6/10, but looks arn't everything.

Re: Pop

The_shoemaker

Pop is a very simple, yet fun and unique game. And I'm actually glad i bought it. I never really thought, just popping bubbles could be so much fun.

The main objective is obviously, to pop as many bubbles as possible. You use the wii remote to move your curser on the screen, then you try to pop the bubbles. you can press A or B to pop the bubbles. small bubbles are worth more points, but you don't get a big time increse, and big bubbles are worth less points, but you get a bigger time increase. if you pop the same bubble colour muliple times in a row, each time you pop one, the amount of points you would get, will increase. But once you pop a different colour, the points you earn will go back to normal. Also if you hold A or B on a bubble, you can inlarge it, and move it. Or if you hold a bubble, and start shaking your wiimote, the bubble will turn into a little bomb and explode where you let go of it. also every time you miss a bubble, you lose 3 seconds, and if you keep missing, those 3 seconds add up fast.

Items
Along with your amazing bubble popping abilities, you can also you items in the game. In single player there's three items, and in multiplayer there's 6. So in single player, there's one item, where if you pop it, it will slow time for a little while. Another one is a bomb item. It's just like the bombs you make when you hold a bubble and shake, but this bomb is much bigger and works better. And there's also the pointer inlarger. If you pop this bubble, your cuser will inlarger, making popping bubbles much easier. In multiplayer, you get all of the same single player items, along with 3 new ones. On of them is a lightening bolt thing. If you pop it, you can zap your opponents. Once your opponents have been zapped, they can't pop bubbles for a few seconds. Another one is the flashlight. if you pop this one, the whole screen will go black, except for a circle of light around your curser, allowing you to see the bubbles, and your opponents can't. It wears off in a few seconds. And the last one is the shrinker. When you pop this bubble, it shrinks your opponents curser, this way it's harder for him/her to pop bubbles.
There's also other bubbles that arn't really items. There's the evil skull bubble, and the multiply bubble. the skull bubble takes off 200 points each time you pop one. And the muliply one will muliply your points and score by what number is on it (x1,x2,x3,x4,x5,x6,x7,x8...)

Music effects.
I gotta ammit, pop did a really good job on this facter. Every level in the game has a different piece of music. And the songs are created in a unique way, like how Do Re Mi did it. Most songs have certain little parts that will just stick to you, or remind you of a game. There's also little sound effects from the remote. Each time you pop a bubble, the wii remote makes a bubble popping noise. But it's pretty cool, because the sound is different for each bubble. like if you pop a big bubble, the remote makes that kind of sound, if you pop a small one, it makes a little sound. and if you pop multiple bubbles, it makes a whole bunch of sounds.

Training
I haven't tied this much, but I'm pretty sure you just pop there without any time.

Normal
Normal mode has 16 levels with 16 different songs. what i really like about the levels, id that each one is really different fromt he other. Like one might be scrolling left, right, up down, have ocean backgrounds, colourful or dark backgrounds, and different speeds. Like there can be slow speed with lots of bubbles, or slow with not much bubbles, or fast with a lot of bubbles, or fast with not much bubbles, or some can have more small than big bubbles, or more big than samll, some will have more items than others, some will only have one or two. It's really nice, none of the levels ever feel the same. But in Normal mode you just try to get the best score possible. You start out with 30 seconds, and you can make the number go up or down, by popping or missing bubbles. The max time you can have is 99.99 seconds. So you must try to get lots of bubbles, while figuring out combinations, and watching your time. and it's cool because in one second you can go from having 90 seconds, to 50 seconds. Also there's a few bonus levels in normal, where you just try to pop lots of bubbles in a set of time, then that will be added to your score. Also once you get a game over, it will show you your worldwide ranking, and lets you see who is in the ten ten.

Advanced is exactly the same as Normal, but except you start with 20 seconds, and your being timed to see how long it takes you to get 99,999,999 points. And you can also see your worldwide ranking on this too.

Chill mode is just you go through the levels, without items, timer, or point, it's just to releax. like if you just want to test out some things, or if you don't want a timer, you just want to pop some bubbles.

And there's so many unique things in pop, things no one would even notice, like how when you pop a bubble, every bubble around that bubble reacts to it, or how a bubble pops, or some certain backgrounds and stuff.

When I play pop, my time ranges from 20 minutes to an hour and a half. so you can play it in short bursts, or long. I'd have to say, that 700 pounts is a steal, because this game has unlimited deltails, and i can tell Noooo is gonna be a great developer.

God that was a long post, I hope Nooo notices it.

Re: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King

The_shoemaker

Sucks my wii got stolen 2 days before wiiware was released, damn. This game looks good, you guys are actually my first kind of sourse for this game. i never even knew you build stuff. but what's the point in building stuff, do new people com to your kingdom or something?

Re: Defend Your Castle

The_shoemaker

Once I get a wii, I'm getting this one. I'm pretty sure i remember playing this on the computer, and it was pretty fun, now with new updates this should be great. and $5 is a steal!

Re: Welcome to WiiWare World!

The_shoemaker

It's so white.

Nice site, it's just like VC-reviews, but it has a different feel. I like the new chat feature that's pretty cool. And it's great that your making this site it's very own forum. Also I'm happy that i can finally see the new posts, it annoyed me so much before that i would have to guess to see any new posts.

good job guys.

Re: Nintendo Channel for Wii now available in North America

The_shoemaker

I like this channel a lot. There's a lot more videos than i thought, it makes me happy. Not like how the check mii out channel only had one contest avalible when it was released. But you can download or buy games right from the channel. To download, it takes you straight to the wii shop channel, to buy wii games, it takes you to a online buying site.'

So far you can only recommend titles, not write reviews for them. Like you can only say who you think best suites this game and what score you would give it, you can't actually write a review.

And the videos are nice quality, and take maybe 15 seconds tops to load a video. Usually it only takes 3 seconds. Also there's tons of videos, a few interviews a few comericals, and a lot of reviews. And you can chose to watch it in full or half screen.

And you can look up every single wii, VC, and DS game, and watch a video of them. So it's quite the worthy channel.

Re: LostWinds

The_shoemaker

Well if it takes 3 hours to beat, then it's probably a platforming adventure. Something like beat your scores and such. No matter what I'm still getting it though.

Re: Alien Crush WiiWare

The_shoemaker

Yeah same here Atlantis. I haven't played Alain or devils Crush, but the wiiare one might be better for me. But they will probably price it around 1000, since the originals are 800.
