I still have my Wii U plugged in and use it from time to time - the only Wii U port on Switch I have is Mario Kart as I don't love paying twice for the same thing. I don't think we talk enough about how Nintendo deliberately nerfed BOTW on Wii U by removing the gamepad functionality that had been shown at tech demos. If they'd left the live gamepad map running the Wii U would be the definitive version. So I can see why they made that decision...
+1 for Affordable Space Adventures though
Also Duck Hunt on the eShop and discs of any Wii shooting games that use the wiimote/sensor bar - the lightgun ports on Switch don't really function.
I really like that the central circle is slightly extruded (as is pikachu's nose on the Japan only model). I think this is the first limited edition 2DS or 3DS to be a custom mould instead of a paint job on the standard shell? I wish that they'd done something similar with the snes new 3DS - some bevels and indentation would have been pretty slick.
I've purchased the first dig and heist on multiple systems for myself and as gifts as I was so enthusiastic about both those games so I don't have an issue with the price - but I do hope it gets a release on 3ds or Wii U at some point. I can understand a lot of developers not being interested in providing backwards compatibility but in this particular case it seems like a game that wouldn't struggle technically on those systems, and would be very nice for those of us who haven't upgraded yet.
I guess I'm in the minority here but I hate how overtly sexualised the imagery in the FE games has gotten. It reached a tipping point for me with Fates where I actually stopped playing on public transport because I felt embarrassed to be seen looking at it. I like the game because of the strategy aspect of the gameplay first, then the story. The sexy stuff feels totally unnecessary and makes it look like a junk game.
I was really optimistic about this as I think FE gameplay could work really well on mobile (Warbits is a great example of this - kind of lite Advance Wars). But 8x6 tile maps seems pretty limiting tbh. Will still be downloading day one though 🤓
I like that they're embracing the "super" with this. I loved the Super Nintendo (as we called itge SNES round my way growing up) and have often wondered if calling the Wii U "Super Wii" would have shifted a few more units. It communicates that it's a more powerful version of a familiar system effectively.
@GravyThief London Underground has wifi now but it's only at certain stations and drops off when you're on the move. Also it seems to take so long to connect that often the train has started to move out of the station when you do connect so you've got seconds to do whatever you want to do before losing connection.
Zelda looks great but I was really hoping for some new Mario Kart DLC after that mysterious tweet the other day. Felt like that would have been a nice sweetener considering there's not much else between now and Zelda and a great reminder that MK8 is still an amazing game. A Zelda:BOTW track released during e3 would be amazing promotion and a way to drop hints at what the game will contain. They've sort of done a similar thing in the recent past with Corrin appearing in Smash before FE:Fates was out.
I bought my daughter some Mario Kart / Peach ones on Friday... Not sure if this is universal but the lace tips have wiimotes printed on them. Thought this was a very nice little detail. Could post a photo except I can't post photos...
Managed to get the special edition this morning at Game in Westfield White City (London). Such a huge relief after missing out on ordering online. They had six copies and I was fourth (and last) in line when the store opened. Glad to not be paying double the cost to a scalper just to get the games on one cartridge (really not bothered about the art book or steel case).

Re: Uh-Oh, Nintendo Switch Online's N64 Games Might Be 50Hz In Europe
Glad I’ve still got access to so many of these via the wii virtual console
Re: Random: Return To The '90s With This Super Mario All-Stars VHS Released By Nintendo UK
I'm listening to Craig Charles on the 6 Music breakfast show right now. His bed music on the radio is considerably funkier...

Re: New Nobunaga's Ambition Title Confirmed For Nintendo Switch
100%, I'd actually get a switch for this (I'm sticking with Wii U for now).

Re: Gallery: Let's Compare The Nintendo Switch To Other Handhelds
Well done on including the Xperia Play! I had one of those, was one of the best Nintendo consoles I've owned 😉
Re: Nintendo Addresses the Question of Link's Green Tunic in Breath of the Wild
Great, but what what I really want is ALTTP pink hair.

new 3DS could have been "Super 3DS" too.

@MetaRyan that doesn't help people on the tube / subway. Which is exactly the sort of place a one handed game like this is designed for.
