Re: Pokémon-Inspired MMO Adventure Temtem Now Has Over 1 Million Players

SladeStrife

@VoidofLight Devs ride others success all the time, and if your salty about a game franchise being made fun of. I hate to break it to you but Pokémon does that to itself all the time. Team rocket, Pokémon designs, plot lines. It always pokes fun at itself. Pokémon red and blue had a whole section where it breaks the 4th wall and you meet the developers.

Not everything has to be serious. Especially not a game about forcing small adorable critters into balls, cards, cubes, or whatever and forcing them to battle for money. It's a game. Get off your high ponyta and enjoy it.

Re: Pokémon-Inspired MMO Adventure Temtem Now Has Over 1 Million Players

SladeStrife

Congrats to Temtem! Absolutely love this gem of a game. Being able to play the game all the way through with my girlfriend is a blast!

As to the comment section here. Once again proving Pokémon fans are the worst. Can't be happy with the success of their own franchise and definitely can't be happy with the success of another. I used to think Sonic fans were the worst but this fan base proves its a cesspool more and more everyday.

Re: GTA Publisher Take-Two Thinks NFTs Are A Good "Fit" But Wants To "Stay Away From Speculation"

SladeStrife

@gaga64 The problem with that train of though is that will never happen. This is the same industry that has yearly installments of games so you HAVE to rebuy DLC. This is the same industry that started a war on reselling games with $10 vouchers to be able to play online. This is the same industry that alters number values of loopholes to keep you buying.

You will never be able to buy a gun DLC in one game and take it to another. You will never be able to make a profit off of digital goods. We have never had a problem verifying DLC purchases. That's why we make accounts with our personal info and get recipts sent to our emails. This is nothing but a scam by rich people. This is why 90% of NFTs are bought and sold among a small circle of people. Its all to drive up prices and raise value.

Re: GTA Publisher Take-Two Thinks NFTs Are A Good "Fit" But Wants To "Stay Away From Speculation"

SladeStrife

@Zuljaras Nope! It's even stupider then that. You literally do not own what you are purchasing. Let's say I "mint" 100 NFTs and number them 1 to 100. When you buy an NFT you are buying one of those numbers. To add "value" to them people are giving them pixel art, art, sounds, most of which are stolen assets and giving each spot in the line a picture. You do not own the copyright, the license to use, the art itself. You just own the spot in line next to the picture.

Best way I can put it. You know when you go to a parking garage at an event? You then pay your money, find your spot and you get your little thingy that says hey, remember you parked at green baboon 37? Yea...thats an NFT. Only more useless.

Re: Fortnite Is Teaming Up With The Avengers To Promote Endgame

SladeStrife

I really dont understand the hate other then it is popular and the "cool kids" thing to do. I have been gaming for over 25 years and have seen this constantly. Before fortnite it was pubg, before that it was FPSs in general. Before that it was cool to hate on MMORPGs. The gaming community has always been fairly toxic but in the last 10 years I have seen it develop into just pure nasty hate. Noone wants anyone to enjoy anything they do not like anymore.

I tend to avoid message boards, forums and all that stuff in general and just stick to my core group now. I play alittle of everything and fortnite is has been in my rotation since save the world first launched on PC. I got back into it when they launched on switch and I absolutely love this game. Epic does an incredible job pumping out updates every week to keep the game fresh.

Sure the update may not always be great but they always try something. You always know when you drop in that something weird is going to happen because it is a game. It dosent take itself to seriously, and there is a surprising amount of lore and story that they throw in for the hardcore fans that look for it.

So no I really dont understand the hate for a game people do not have to play. If you dont like it and want it to die then just go play something else and dont look...and if seeing the word fortnite brings you that much pain...then I really dont know what to tell ya. Maybe you arnt as grownup as ya think you are...

Re: Random: Cool Virtual Boy Easter Egg Discovered In Nintendo Labo VR

SladeStrife

@wolvesboy having just bought one make sure you get one that has been refurbished. That is usually why they are so expensive. They need to be cleaned and recapped because alot of the capacitors inside blow and mess up the audio and visuals. Sadly capacitors in the late 80s and early 90s where super cheap due to lack of materials.

Re: Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid Arrives Next Week On Switch eShop

SladeStrife

@Reigestugatensho RJ is amasing! My favorites are MMPR, dino thunder, SPD, and I really loved mystic force...samurai and megaforce and there supers where not good...although I liked gia and how much shes been interacting with fans recently...I thought everyone else on the show was really...fake and plasticy... but dino church and ninja steel got alooot better! Uuuugh....I cant wait!!! Have 3 days off work I took off specifically so I can sit and play non stop lol

Re: Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid Arrives Next Week On Switch eShop

SladeStrife

@Kriven yea I try not to...I have just been hearing power rangers is for kids or how I'm wrong for liking the show since day 1...just gets under my skin...I'm 31 and have never missed a single episode (I'm counting spinoff as well big bad beetleborgs, vr troopers, kamen rider...hell I even stomach's Saban's ninja turtles...) there is so much lore, and depth to power rangers universe and I love how they try to keep every season connected as a whole.

I do love the boom comics as well currently going threw shattered grid which is insane how far they are going with this story arc...I just cant wait to see who they bring into this game...the mobile version has such a massive depth of characters (hell alpha from the 2017 movie is a playable fighter lol) so yea I'm hopeing they just keep building on it

They said in an interview (I'm paraphrasing of course) that they want this to be a game they they just build on for years...no sequels just keep expanding and refining it

Re: Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid Arrives Next Week On Switch eShop

SladeStrife

Ranger slayer is an amasing character from the shattered grid event in the BOOM! Comics series of power rangers. The whole event affected all of power rangers media and is fantastic! The comics are definitely worth the read.

To add on to this convo though I am so excited for this game. I am a huge power rangers fan and have literally been watching since day one and havent missed an episode since. The combat reminds me alot of MvC2 and mortal kombat so I was instantly sold!

@tedko A straw man is a common form of argument and is an informal fallacy based on giving the impression of refuting an opponent's argument, while actually refuting an argument that was not presented by that opponent. One who engages in this fallacy is said to be "attacking a straw man."

Re: Nintendo Confirms Free-To-Play Games Can Be Played Without Switch Online Membership

SladeStrife

@ekwcll
I really am tired of it...no matter what its always negative. Saw people screaming about Splatoon 2 being a dead game after Dec because there will be no new maps or weapons...like the 20 some odd maps and 90 some oddweapons and what 200+ gear...all of which was free mind you is gonna go away, or when they released fortnite and people screamed we dont want that crap on our nintendo, i can literally pick out anything nintendo has done and there will always be a hate train behind it...I dont blind follow them but it is exhausting being a fan and not even wanting to go somewhere like gamefaqs to ask a simple question about anything without being full on attacked...and if you speak up yer labled a fanboy, or blind follower or whatever...this is my last post im tired of all this...i have been gaming for 30 years and i have seen this everytime Nintendo has done anything for pretty much the entire time

Re: Nintendo Confirms Free-To-Play Games Can Be Played Without Switch Online Membership

SladeStrife

@MichaelHarvey
Again though it is part of the package just because you have no taste {I uhhh...I mean} just because you don't want what is for offer...again the online gaming is what you are paying for the rest are toppings and the cherry...dosent mean it dosent have value.
If you buy the $20 service you still get online gaming, cloud saves, NES games, and whatever random deals they throw out. if you dont want any of that dont pay but saying its not enough or has no value is stupid.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Free-To-Play Games Can Be Played Without Switch Online Membership

SladeStrife

@tedko
It is on there FAQ the person that is the "head" of the family has to pay the full 35 but you can always just ask for a couple of bucks from your friends or whatever. I am personally just paying the 35 because we all play splattatatatatatatoon and monster hunter as well as a few others games together and 15 bucks more is a small price to pay to get us all online with the added benefit of beating my friends butt who lives in California at pro wrestling and tecmobowl haha
But as far as I can read there is no limits to location, separate switches or limits on the NES games or playing online at the same time its as if everyone had there own memberships.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Free-To-Play Games Can Be Played Without Switch Online Membership

SladeStrife

@MichaelHarvey Just because games are "before your time" dosent mean they do not hold any value. I have seen alot of people throw the word nostalgia around as if thats the only reason any game thats older then 2 hours is loved and its actually a bad game because "nostalgia glasses". As for the servers improving I fully believe if anyone has any issues with the online of the switch it is there internet I play splatoon, rocket league, DOOM, fortnite as well as several others...between those games I have over 1000 hours and have not had a single D/C outside of my internet hiccuping or splatfest matchmaking being oddly horrible while there normal matchmaking is fine.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Free-To-Play Games Can Be Played Without Switch Online Membership

SladeStrife

@Slim1999 @subpopz I fully agree...i really hate to throw out the "NINTENDOOOOOM" meme...but it really does feel like this is what everyone shouts and throws Nintendo hate when they do anything. It is honestly getting to the point where i just dont even want to bother with the comments section or forums anymore.
We have known since the launch of the switch online would eventually cost...it was supposed to cost us fall last year...we have gotten what is essentially almost 2 years of a free service {more if you count the Wii, DS, Wii U and 3DS all had free as well}
I am about to spend 35 bucks to get me...and 7 other friends online for a full year...When I went in for me and my friend when xbox live first came, out it set me back 60 bucks i think it was. People seem to forget all these services they wanna compare this to have been literally going at this for about 10ish years now...you want messaging, voice chat lobbies all this other stuff...it costs money to develop
As far as the whole Nintendo is tone def argument...when it comes to messaging and voice chat...I don't know anyone who dosent use texting with there phones or any number of voice chat services out there {that are free also} skype, discored, team speak, to name a few, to voice chat instead with
20 bucks for you or 35 for you and up to 7 people for a year of online play{which mind you IS WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR!!} and also getting cloud saves {I do wish there was a way to do local backups but even that is a pain at times} just cause you may or may not loose the cloud saves when your sub runs out...dosent mean your systems saves are gone...I swear people are stupid with that argument, and 20+ NES games that you can play ONLINE and wherever you want. {again if you cant get online with a portable system once a week...ummm what?} What kills me the most is the biggest complaint you can go back any where and see people complaining about how they don't wanna have to buy these games for the millionth time and blah blah blah...
TL;DR ...Shut the hell up...seriously there are people that sub 15 to 30 bucks a month for final fantasy 14 a month {I am one of those people} That is one game with no voice chat, no freebies, nothing...you pay to play the game online that's what they offer that's what you get...Stop being entitled because you think 20 bucks is to much...If that is to much then im sorry but get a diffrent job, or get a job, rework your bills...if you feel attacked that Nintendo wants to charge for something they have provided for free for the last what...12 years {Wii launch} then I dont know what to tell ya
{end rant...}
