"Although this encouraged collectors to buy multiple versions of the same character, in the game they unlocked specific abilities not previously available to the original version." Really? I'm pretty sure the Skylander I got for the first game have all the abilities that a newer version of the same character (and in my house we have two of this character).
I guess it makes some sort of sense. Family games normally are sold to parents, who typically see the games on TV, in store advertising, etc (at least in my experience, yours could be different). If they go all out now, it won't sell as well as it will in the future if it's released when the Wii U has sold really well.
One of Animal Crossing’s greatest features was its ability to let you visit your friends’ towns, steal all their fruit, run through their glorious flower beds and generally go on a rampage.
...I've decided never to let Katy Ellis come to my town in Animal Crossing...
"Expect the unexpected at E3" I'm expecting that they'll announce they're discontinuing the 3DS and that they are laying off 90% of staff and putting the remaining 10% on rounding up every Wii U ever produced and burning them.
@Reverandjames The reason I said I have "sense" was because none of the next gen games interest me as of yet, and I'm not a "buy-now play-later" kinda guy. If the games interest you then you then that's great, but they don't interest me and I was sensible enough not to buy a console I'm not going to use.
@KodyDawg It's not Digital Foundry's fault that the game isn't 1080p. Of the articles on their front page, only one is about a Nintendo console. (Child of Light is there too, so I guess 2.)
@JosieC84 You're complaining about them complaining. See the irony there? And now I suppose I'm complaining about your complaining about their complaining. Complainception!
@Hy8ogen I thought pretty much no one had money, so I guess people must have very, very, little sense then. Luckily for me, I had enough sense not to buy any next gen console.
I'm a little disappointed all we got was the name and box art really, but I still feel the need to dance crazily in a blur of emotions consisting of happiness, joy, confusion, and excitement.
@DragonbornRito All you really need to do is add an "IMO" somewhere in there and I can't touch your argument, lol. I have to agree with you that people tend to think of Nintendo the more "kiddie" side of gaming, though when the other guys are churning stuff out like Dead Rising, inFamous, Killzone, Titanfall, I can see why Mario might be considered kiddie, because at the very least it is waaay more family friendly than the likes of those games.
@DragonbornRito Like I said before, quality is up to the individual gamer. There is literally, not a single reason for me to get a Wii U except for MH3U Multiplayer and a prettier version of Smash Bros. I'd get a PS4 for inFamous Second Son, so I could say that the PS4 is a waaay better console for the Wii U since it has more games I want, but just because I view it that way doesn't make it fact. Actually, I would want to try Dead Rising 3 on Xbox One, so that's two consoles I'd prefer to the Wii U, but that doesn't mean the Wii U is bad, it just means it's not to my taste, and it would appear many people agree with me.
@DragonbornRito The amount of "decent games" on a system is up to the gamer themselves, not what gets a high score on metacritic. The 2 games that interest me on the Wii U I can get on my 3DS (Monster Hunter and Smash Bros.) and the one PS4 game I want is only on the PS4, so the PS4 would be a better deal for me. It's not up to you to decide whether or not what the best gaming system is. You get annoyed by the fact people look down on the Wii U and then say "[the] Xbone is stupid" and that "[the] PS4 is just a Twitch Box with about 5 actual decent games". Hypocritical much?
Normally I'm all for DLC, but I'm totally against it when it's day one. On the bright side, it's not full priced, unless you but the DLC, which would make it $45.
The live presentations have gotten better, but I still remember all of the times I lost feed when Nintendo first started doing these, so I prefer youtube.
I'd definitely play a horror game set in the metroid universe. A federation base is taken offline and you and your squad are sent to investigate. Most of you die and you try to set up a warning signal to get other ships to avoid the base, knowing they will just be over run by the metroids.
And then you get companies like Blizzard implementing always-online into all their games. Ignoring is good sometimes, but other times it's not the best thing.
@Linkuini Yes, but I'm in the states, so that's how it affects me. It's not like I'm gonna be bothered by people in Ireland playing with British accents (no offense). @AshFoxX Horrible voice acting is a pretty big turn off for some people, and while many seem to be amused by the robot miis I just find them intolerable. Saying turn the sound off isn't a solution, that's just trying to ignore it.
The voices may very well be a deal breaker for me. I don't care if it's intentional, it bugs the crap out of me and is my only problem with the game. It would be an insta-buy any other way.
EDIT: And America is waaay to big an area to say "American accents" as there are a million different accents in America and everyone makes fun of each other over it. If I'm stuck sounding like the people I make fun of, that will also be a deal breaker.
I don't really have strong feelings one way or another with this topic so it won't have any affect on my decision to purchase it. I feel bad for the people who were looking forward to that option in the game, though on the other hand I can understand why Nintendo wants to avoid getting involved in this issue (though that's pretty hard since straight people can date and get married in the game, so I guess they're doing a pretty terrible job of it).
@Einherjar Oh I agree with you there, the PS4 isn't nearly as good as it was hyped, all I'm saying is it's still a lot more powerful than the Wii U. (And yes, I'm referring to the game in the picture above)

I'd buy ones for the Fire Emblem characters! Of course it's not gonna happen, but maybe Lucina or Chrom.
