@WoolooSweater but that's the thing! These toxic "fans" don't even play the game! XD
I made a topic about the upcoming DLC on a forum I visit regularly and everyone was excited... apart from a couple of folks. One of them was extremely angry over the fact that Gamefreak are making the DLC and stated their disliking of the game, saying that "it's a good thing I haven't played Pokemon since Black/White". So, that person haven't played any of the Pokemon games for 10 years but they have enough courage and time to talk negatively about a game they haven't even played and don't seem to be interested in. Some people just like to waste their time, I guess. I think it could be due to the era we live in - the news always give us this feeling of connection with the world, with what's happening, the media outlets are of course not interested in encouraging people to not waste their time, so instead of actually exploring the hobby, people just read the news and get angry about something they don't care about. And everything around us tries to push us to read the news, to give them the clicks and to waste the time we could have spent becoming better people or enjoying something.
Another guy in that topic said something about the price but it was very clear that he didn't watch the Direct or even read the short article with full information. He didn't even know you're getting a new story, island and 200 Pokemon for free.
That's how most of these "fans" are. The actual people who wanted to play the game, they already have played it and the game is still selling extremely well, same as Let's Go.
You can see it with the birthday situation - you'll get a ton of good wishes from people but one-two angry comments will always stand out, and that's what these people want - to be noticed, to have someone to see their hate and feel like they're not alone with it. Just ignore the fools. They're the ones who missed out on all the incredible adventures that me and 3 million fans across the world have enjoyed (and that's just the physical sales, right?) I guess, someone's adventure is to make silly pictures and bathe in toxic baths on the Internet with angry teens and angry teens that act that way because of their age and other angry teens, the ones who got old but never really got to grow up.
To each their fun but I think this is very dangerous. If you'll read history, you'll know that these empty, want-nothing people are the ones who would not protest against Nazis, communists, against all the pointless deaths and wars - no matter what century we're talking about. Something needs to be done to help these poor souls, is what I'm saying.
As much as I liked The Witcher 3 (also 1-2 and Gwent stand-alone), I won't be playing Cyberpunk 2077. CDProjectRed were the only game-dev of Europe that tried to make games that actually feel like they're made by and for Europeans. And it's not just about the theme or setting! The person who presented Cyberpunk 2077 on stage talked how they dislike that Poland is not popular with its pop-culture... but it's like, when you look at Cyberpunk 2077 - all you see is yet another Hollywood blockbuster, it doesnt' have any of the European vibe to it. If someone was to show me C2077 and I didn't know it's made in Poland, I would definitely say it was made in USA and that's the problem. Globalization and americanization of culture is a huge issue and I'm very disappointed to see CDPR to fall into that trap.
Same goes for Kojima, Suda51 and a few other developers.
Very sad to see the amount of hate this person (and GameFreak in general) received from the ungrateful "fans". I doubt I'll ever associate Pokemon development team with anyone else, so I hope he'll remain in the company!
I spent most of my yesterday's free-time going over my backlog, adding some retro games to it... Took me some time but worth it! I
As of playing... I'll most likely play Monster Hunter World, it has some new event going on and I want to finish up the story before Iceborne arrives on PC.
Then I'll continue Pokemon Shield.
@KingBowser86 why, though? Nintendo's strength are the games, they don't need animation. You can't really succeed if all you do is look at someone who is "better" and copy them.
Nintendo succeeded with games just like Disney with animations. The only issue Nintendo has right now is that they can't compete with Sony and Microsoft and associate the word "games" with Mario. Even if you're from USA (let alone Europe or other parts of the world), there's little to no focus on Nintendo.
@Kalmaro he probably wanted to say that parents aren't as suspicious of children watching Disney as they are of kids playing Nintendo games. It mostly comes from the fact that games are associated with Call of Duty and GTA, Fortinite (which replaced GTA). Remember that video Trump showed about violent games? That's pretty much what's this about - parents (who don't know much about games) will see that, then they'll see some yet another killing game ad on TV and obviously they'll think all games are just that. And even if you meet someone who is actually a gamer, chances are they'll be playing nothing but Call of Duty, too and won't have a clue about Nintendo.
@Dodger I logged in just to say that you don't have a single clue about children! If you're a parent, you need to think about this because your words make zero sense and I am genuinely concerned for the children you will (or are) raising.
Children are not all impulsive or lying. If they're lying and getting addicted to stuff, then they will do the exact same thing when they'll get older - the only thing that will be different is their reasoning. Not even mentioning the possible workaholism which is something that's being encouraged in our society. It's not "children", it's them being humans, the exact same human that you are. There's no miraculous change of character when you reach 18 or 21 years old mark - are you out of your mind?! Do you genuinely believe that people change with age?? Bad news: they don't.
"something that ate up every moment of free time I had, to the detriment of other pursuits" - YOU ate up your own free time, not games. If it wasn't games, it would have been TV or YouTube, or politics news (another thing parents often disregard or even encourage, and then we have racial/national conflicts, young people dying in wars etc.), or anything else.
You have a serious problem with not being able to understand that adults and children are the exact same humans. Children are not some alien creatures that only care about lying and being lazy, throw out those cheap self-help books and think! If your child behaves that way and if you (!) behaved this way, then they will do the exact same thing later becaause that's in your character. The only thing that changes with age is the realization of law and punishment - it won't be as easy to do bad things because parents won't help and going to jail isn't exactly fun.
I'll say that 75% of people I knew as a child and then saw as adults did not change in any way - they're the exact same brats who would do bad things if they'll feel like they can get away with it. Some children have a genuine interest in being kind and not lying, others develop it after being abused or bullied (minority) but the majority never changes. If you're a good parent (most aren't, this is sad but true), then you have a chance to put your child into those 25% that will be kind towards others and honest regardless of there being law and punishment to scare them.
Lastly, "being athlete or musician" does not make anyone better. I've actually studied with one of the super cool athlete kids and it was one of the worst human beings I saw in my life - he constantly looked down on everyone around him (including his friends), constantly acted like a douchebag and didn't even bother showing up to class . You seriously need to spend less time commenting on news and watch one of the films where the musician kid ends up the villain. Maybe that will help you with this awful, terrible shaming and generalization.
By the way, why do you spend time commenting? Is that suddenly a "productive hobby"? : )
@WiltonRoots have you considered playing the rest of the series? DQ 1-3 are very old but you can treat them as a trip to museum - boring but kind of fun. XD DQ 4-6 NDS remakes are old, too but much more fun and still hold up very well thanks to the brilliant writing! And DQ 7-9 on 3DS/DS are just so much fun. I doubt these will ever age.
Then there's also the spin-offs (DQ Builders 1-2, Heroes 1-2 and Monsters Joker).
@RiggsHB "CheapAssGamer", Wario64 and the rest attract some very unstable people, from my experience. The recent example would be how they went and tried to scam Walmart when those listed Fire Emblem Three Houses bundle (game + dlc) for the price of dlc (so, 25$ for game and dlc). Obviously, it was a mistake but those people would make a huge fuss and even contact Walmart just to get that free game. And I mean, I'm not with a stable income myself but I don't see how you can live in USA and be so cheap that you'd actually try to scam Walmart because of 50$. I'd go as far as to say that following those accounts (Wario, CheapAss) will result in a buying addiction where you'll be buying things just to buy them...
@Minfinity the best thing would be to just add the games to your wishlist. If you enable notifications, Nintendo will send you a message when something goes on sale.
I personally have a list of all the games I'm interested in and it helped me greatly to, sort of, figure out my gaming priorities. If a game isn't worth its initial price, then it's probably not something you'll be happy with anyways. Once I realized that, it became pretty easy to manage my wishlist.
This level looks much better than all of they've shown for this game and all I've seen for the previous one... but still, I feel like it's not original enough. Lucky looks very cute, but that's about it.
I wonder if they have any contraband of normal game consoles and games. Or torrents.
The article is pretty sad. Imagine if you lived in a country where your most favorite hobby is unheard of and the best thing you have is some weird "Wii Sports clone" with just one game.
Soviet Union had the same thing with, well, everything. For example, an entire generation of talented, creative Ukrainian writers and people of art were sentenced to death, sent to prison (not the "easy" type of prison, mind you), etc. Look it up - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executed_Renaissance
And if some books, movies were to be translated or published in USSR - they had to be carefully reviewed in case if there's anything that contradicts the party. Needless to say, the majority of "art" produced within that regime is complete junk. Kojima and some other "artsy", as they say, people tend to glorify some of USSR art but that's only because these people can (!) choose what to watch and what to play. Of course it feels different and unique but if you watch/read the same proletarian induced stupidity, it won't be fun.
By the way, to all of you who are being surprised - this kind of thing can happen in other countries, too. Russia is currently teaming up with China to isolate their Internet - that's not a joke and they've been working on that for some time. There was an incident when Russian government accidentally blocked Playstation Network because they wanted to block Telegram messenger. A ton of other websites (including Playstation) were unavailable for a long time. Then there's China - games need to be manually approved. Just a day ago they approved... Mario U, yeah. You'd think there isn't anything bad in Mario U but for China it took some time to approve.
Lastly, even if something is technically available, most of the countries around the world can't afford gaming, legal gaming - for sure. Even illegal isn't so easy since it usually is tied down to the exchange rate of US dollar...
Hopefully, Nintendo and the rest will team up to make games more accessible all across the globe. North Korea - well, nothing good will come from that land... there's no way in the world anyone will want to live there when they see the "outside world". And eventually they will.
By the way, Trump would have totally turned into a pro-censorship guy if he could. Remember that video they posted on their YouTube account? "Games are evil, look it's so violent!". Violence in games is a difficult topic but it goes for all art, not just games... regardless, what I'm saying is that if someone like Trump gets to sit in a President chair and bully, harass people, artists and news channels, any "wrong-thinking" - then we're not moving in the right direction. Not even mentioning the countless nationalistic parties in Europe which get away with saying same stuff Nazis were known for... Just yesterday I've read an article where some foolish journalist was complaining and saying how much he wants to not have Russian children on the Ukrainian streets - to "preserve ukrainian language", see? And nothing will happen to him for saying that.
So, just saying - we're at a much better place than China and North Korea but gamers need to encourage publishers and the rest to try to make games more accessible, so that everyone could play them, no matter which country.
This looks hilariously adorable but they really should have made a demo for this game...
Also I did play the Super Monkey Ball game on 3DS - it was fun but kind of empty. The stage is over right when you kind of start to enjoy it and that's how the entire game is...
I love motion controls, so I'm definitely keeping this game on my watch.
Should I try the Wii SMB? I've never liked any of the Sega platformers, sadly... Sonic - too fast and chaotic for me. Mario and Sonic Olympic Games - these always felt like party games to me...
I was playing this game back when it came out and it's nothing like Resident Evil 4. Revisited it a few weeks ago and was rather disgusted by how filthy the game feels. I mean, it's horror but there's a clear line between making a gore-feast game that is there to make you puke and a scary, thrilling horror experience.
The Evil Within 1-2 is what I wish modern RE was...
Luckily, they recovered and put the series back on track with RE 2 Remake.
P.S. "Brilliant story that feels like a celebration of the series"
Um... brilliant story? At this point, I don't expect reviewers to say anything meaningful or worth reading but this is just pathetic. In which world RE 5 has a brilliant story?? Even as a blockbuster "kill them all" stuff - it's awful!
@CharlieGirl I feel like you're doing this on purpose - talking to people who don't plan on changing their views. I agree with most of the things you said but I've seen your comments and, well, it seems like you're here just to find some "demons" to slay. Which is fine, do what you want with your time but there's a lot of inconsistencies in your behavior, wouldn't you say?
The main heroine looks fine, she's just wearing shorts. Look up the Japanese presentation where women were playing the game - nobody made a single joke about Ryza being "too sexy" or "fat / thick". That's because she looks like a normal girl.
The Internet is a perfect place for perverted people (no law, no weird looks) which is why it looks like everyone's crazy about "Ryza being sexy". Same with all the "Pokemon Sword and Shield sucks!!" even though the game looks like the perfect evolution of the series. In reality, this is a very small percentage of gamers.
Anyway, Ryza (that's her name?) looks fine but there's that other character and she does not look fine. See the video at the end of my message... I'm rather surprised there's articles about Ryza and not this (!) abomination. And yes, I say "abomination" because her design is awful. She makes the whole thing seem laughable. It's ok to make sexy characters as long as they're not underage (both physics-wise and age-wise), but when they make characters that look laughably perverted, it's just...
I'm going to buy Pokemon Shield day one just to support the developers. The whole "criticism" situation is beyond ridicilous. I absolutely don't understand how and why someone would hate this game just because it doesn't have all the Pokemon. It's like, do you not see all the cool new things they've added? How much they improved the game and made it so much bigger than it ever was? Do you not see the incredible new Pokemon?? Play the latest mainline Pokemon, Ultra Sun, and then compare it to the footage of Sword/Shield - do you really not see how much bigger and better the new game is turning out to be??? Not even mentioning that we saw only the bits of the game and there will be more and more...
Nobody is taking away the previous games and you can easily get a 3DS and play any of the DS/3DS Pokemon titles. I hope all of these selfish fans will realize that by throwing a tantrum to the developers they're only hurting their "favorite" franchise. If Sword and Shield fails, what, you think Nintendo would want to make another one? They'd focus on mobile Pokemon and make millions!
I'm playing Dragon Quest Builders 2. The first game was already brilliant but the 2nd is even better!
Tried Digimon Story but wasn't too impressed. Apart from great character design and occassional music, the game is mostly forgettable (at least for me). I do believe Digimon Adventure fans will be happy with the game.
@JaxonH Wii U still has a ton of great games. Especially if we count the Wii games which weren't ported to Switch or 3DS (and most likely won't be).
Paper Mario Color Spash, 3 Zelda games, Super Mario Galaxy 1-2, Fragile Dreams, 2 Kirby games, Yoshi's Wooly World (which is on 3DS but it's really worth playing on both systems), Mario 3D World...
Just to name a few. I doubt Nintendo will ever port these.
I was playing it today and I have to say that the game isn't something very special. The fights are ok, the character and monster design is awesome but the characters themselves are just okay, nothing too special. Same with the story.
I found it a bit boring. If you don't love (!) Digimon Adventure, there's nothing to do in this game, believe me.
The entire quote of this producer's response sounds like it was written by an angry Internet troll.
Is this an actual producer of Street Fighter series???
To be honest, it's too late for SF V to be ported to Switch. I love the game but I doubt I'd want to go back to it, let alone buy again... maybe if they do an Ultimate edition with all (!) the costumes, characters and stages - yeah.
Also I don't get all the negative feedback towards SF V. It launched in poor condition, yeah but is it the fault of the developers? I wouldn't be surprised if this producer is at fault for rushing the game. Regardless, they patched things up. The DLC practice isn't the best but still, I've had lots of fun in SF V.

Re: Video: We've Played Pokémon Rival Temtem, And We Can't Wait For It To Hit Switch
@Ralizah there already are decent Pokemon rivals:
All of these games have a similar "collect them all" mechanic and while none of them are as good, they all have some unique ideas.

Re: Review: Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD - Improved Controls Ruined By Some Odd Design Choices
Re: Review: Resident Evil 5 - More Action Than Horror, And All The Better For It
I was playing this game back when it came out and it's nothing like Resident Evil 4.
Re: Atelier Ryza Producer Surprised That Fans Find Lead Character So Sexy
@CharlieGirl I feel like you're doing this on purpose - talking to people who don't plan on changing their views. I agree with most of the things you said but I've seen your comments and, well, it seems like you're here just to find some "demons" to slay. Which is fine, do what you want with your time but there's a lot of inconsistencies in your behavior, wouldn't you say?
My apologies if it seemed rude.
Re: Atelier Ryza Producer Surprised That Fans Find Lead Character So Sexy

Apparently, that character is a "soldier". Yeah.
Re: Negative Feedback Gets Us Down But Must Be Taken On Board, Says Pokémon's Junichi Masuda
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 26th)
I'll probably start playing Cat Quest II!
Re: Review: Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition - Pokémon's Biggest Rival Is Still Worth A Look
Re: Review: Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition - Pokémon's Biggest Rival Is Still Worth A Look
Re: Street Fighter Producer Says Fans Need To "Convince" Nintendo, If They Want More Entries On Switch
