Re: Mega Man is Going to Blast 3DS Virtual Console

ShaneM

I have much superior portable versions of the first four games on PSP already as the PS1 versions of the Rockman games are being released on the PlayStation Store.

The best part? I can also play them on my PS3 because with Sony, you only have to pay once to play your games on all your consoles.

I love Nintendo a heck of a lot more than Sony, but it just seems like they're being greedy now. Those who bought the Wii release of this game should have it on 3DS already.

Re: Nintendo Leaves BAFTA Empty-Handed

I disagree with the people saying LittleBigPlanet 2 shouldn't have beat Mario Kart 7 "because it was the same as the first," because it built upon the original much more than any Mario Kart ever has. I like Mario Kart 7 a lot but it hasn't really changed at all since Mario Kart 64.

Re: Talking Point: The Future of Pokémon

ShaneM

I disagree that Pokémon should say their own names in the video games. I like them having individual calls, it makes them more animal-like and I am disappointed that the anime changed this.

Pokémon Stadium had high-quality versions of these calls and I think that was perfect.

@StarDust

Secret Rings was a crappy spinoff, play Sonic Colors - best Sonic game since Sonic Advance. It's mostly 2D gameplay, but the Wisps are really fun.

@Kage_88

Yes, the Wii version was horrible! Most people who actually played both Sonic Unleashed games will tell you Sonic Unleashed for 360 and PS3 is actually an alright game.

Re: Review: Sonic Generations (3DS)

The stage from Sonic 06 in the HD version was ironically one of the best stages in the game. Sonic 06 had cool levels and music, they just needed to be in a game that actually worked.

Re: Sonic Generations 3DS Launch Trailer Gathers Speed

ShaneM

I'll just warn you all in advance that unless you like Sonic 4 mixed with Sonic Rush, you're not going to like this game.

@tendoboy1984
When they say this game has fourteen levels, they mean acts, not zones. That's significantly less than the HD version's eighteen acts.

360/PS3/PC:
Green Hill
Chemical Plant
Sky Sanctuary
Speed Highway
City Escape
Seaside Hill
Crisis City
Rooftop Run
Planet Wisp

3DS:
Green Hill
Casino Night
Mushroom Hill
Emerald Coast
Radical Highway
Water Palace
Tropical Resort

Re: Feature: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword in Motion

@StarDust

There is no graphical difference between versions of Twilight Princess, and the GameCube version was developed first so the Wii version is the one with the mirrored images.

The Wii version has widescreen, but it actually just zooms the image in, so you're not getting anything extra on the sides if you play it on Wii. You actually have the bottom and top cut off, in fact.

Re: Kirby Gets His Own TV Channel in Europe Tomorrow

ShaneM

I'd only watch if it was a subtitled Japanese version. 4Kids butchered the English version pretty badly... Did you guys know the original version used orchestrated versions of Kirby video game songs like Green Greens as background music?

Re: Mega Man: Dr Wily's Revenge Coming to 3DS VC

ShaneM

@Birdman13

I'm a huuuge Mega Man fan, but I'd advise you don't start with this entry. The controls and physics are rather buggy and it'd be a horrible first impression.

Enhanced versions of the first three NES games are available on PSP if anyone without brand loyalty to Nintendo wants portable NES Mega Man. They're Japanese PSOne import titles but they're pretty easy to figure out.

Re: Rumour: Retro Studios Working on Game for Wii Successor

ShaneM

I don't see what Star Fox would gain from Retro Studios. I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

They seem to be best with games previously known for atmospheric qualities such as Metroid and Donkey Kong Country. I'd love a Retro Studios Castlevania, but since it's a Konami franchise, I don't see that happening very soon.

EDIT: Actually, a Star Fox Adventures-style game would be right up their ally. Star Fox Adventures shared some of the same developers as Donkey Kong Country and both games had similar atmospheres. The only issue is that most fans want a traditional Star Fox.
