Re: Video: Zant Shows Off His Peculiar Twilight Moves in Hyrule Warriors

Sensei_Sendai

@jakysnakydx We're probably getting Valvagia, Wizzro and Cia and that's it. Also while it's true that Dynasty Warriors has around 70-odd characters, most of them are clones. Instead of doing that, Hyrule Warriors is working to make every character have a unique playstyle.

Also, the game is only drawing content from Ocarina, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. So no Skull Kid or Fierce Diety Link

If I could put one more Zelda Original though, it'd be Malon + Epona.

Re: Video: This Is Possibly The Most Almighty Falcon Punch You'll Ever See

Sensei_Sendai

God this was brilliant live. ZeRo did a brilliant job winning this competition after falling into the Loser's Bracket early on. But I'd expect nothing less of him, he is one of the god's of Project M.

@Technosphile Project M will continue whether or not Smash U is competitive or not (it's looking to be more like Brawl at the moment). But the Smash community is quite versatile. Melee and Project M will see the most play, while Sm4sh will usurp Brawl as the third most played game, leaving Brawl in the dust with 64, still appearing in tourneys, but with small numbers of competitors.

Re: Wii Owners Are Upgrading To PlayStation 4, Claims Sony

Sensei_Sendai

I upgraded to PC, but I find the Wii U is the perfect companion console to own. Most of the games on PS4+One right now are very similar to current games on the PC Market (or are on PC), whereas the Wii U still offers fresh experiences that are seldom found on PC.

May pick up a PS4 or Xbone far into the future if there's any particularly interesting exclusives.

Re: Massive Pokémon Reveals Occur During Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct

Sensei_Sendai

@Bolt_Strike I believe it's because it's more or less the Pokemon everyone attached to in X and Y and said, "This Pokemon is awesome guys." Plus it's the most recognizable "Ninja" Nintendo has bar perhaps Sheik.

On another note. As of yesterday's lineup that makes 28/35 characters (or 26 if Zero Suit and Sheik don't count). It seems like two of the three main Nintendo series have their representation quite heavily now,
Mario: Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Peach, Rosalina & Luma, Yoshi
PKMN: Lucario, Pikachu, Greninja, Charizard.

At this point I'm wanting,

  • Ness
    Falco
    Ganondorf
    Chrom OR Lucina

Re: Super Smash Bros. Hitting 3DS This Summer, Wii U Launch To Take Place In The Winter

Sensei_Sendai

I'm sort of happy this has happened.

It negates my fear that one of the two was going to be half-arsed. They'll release the 3DS Version then work on polishing and making the Wii U version a true next gen game within that dev time. At least that's what I'm getting from this buisiness decision.

Honestly though,
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Zelda 2015
Mario Kart 8
Super Smash Bros 4 Wii U
Codename X

These are the only games I'm looking to purchase for my Wii U over the next year. I can't see the Wii U living much longer after the release of X and Zelda 2014.

Re: Soapbox: 'Vintage' Used Game Prices Do Nothing to Encourage Customer Loyalty

Sensei_Sendai

It really is quite simple, Gamestop take 100% profit from Used Games rather than whatever profit is split with Dev's and Publishers etc. They'll push high demand titles are much as possible. I actually worked at GAME in the UK for a while, they do actually teach you there to Guerilla Market, sell the old over the new.

That said, I don't really have a problem with it, as unfavorable as it is, Gamestop is starting to fall. Within a decade, I reckon it'll be mostly digital. But with this, people will vote with their money, this game'll be changed or dropped if they don't see a positive income.

Re: First Impressions: Bayonetta 2

Sensei_Sendai

Bayonetta 2, Monolith Soft's X and, if what Nintendo says holds us, Legend of Zelda U look set to be the true next-gen titles that show that the Wii U does have some good power behind it, nowhere near what the PS4 and Xbox can muster, but still worthy of being a Next Gen Console.

Looking forward to this sooo...sooo...much. Bayonetta 1 was brilliant and this is just looking to be more of the same, but pumped up to the next degree.

EDIT: Just want to add, when have Platinum ever made a bad game. The Wonderful 101 and this are two of my most anticipated games, especially since I won't be getting a next-gen console/Gaming PC for a long while.

Re: Wolfenstein: The New Order Looks Set To Skip Wii U

Sensei_Sendai

@Lasermaster123 As much as I'd like that to be true, Nintendo's exclusives, on there own, are losing more and more credibility in the gaming community with every announcement to a point where they can't survive with them and when the Wii U is so hard to develop for, it's just a slow moving train wreck for Nintendo.

Here's hoping they can pull something magical off, but don't count on it.

Re: Wolfenstein: The New Order Looks Set To Skip Wii U

Sensei_Sendai

@Spartacus3765 Truth be told, I'd be highly surprised if this wasn't Nintendo's last home console or at the very least, last gimmicky console. While I think the Handheld market can sustain itself with Nintendo at the helm, I really wouldn't be surprised if Sony turned around to Nintendo and offered them Second Party Exclusivity at some point on the next Playstation.

Me thinks that Nintendo really would be in a better position if they could be a Production Powerhouse alongside EA, Activision etc. while not focusing on Home Console creation as well.

Also, to address system sellers, Nintendo does have one card in it's favor this generation, the fact that they seem to be focusing more on couch multiplayer which the other two seem to have scrapped. Massive problem being, Nintendo NEED TO compete this generation, they've posted for too big a loss :S
