Re: Rytmik Retrobits Takes You Back in Time

RyuZebian

@kurtasbestos
The thing I like about video game music is that it doesn't get as old as regular music when repeated! The DS-user didn't just only stick to "true" chiptune though. He prefers to call it "electronic rock," and I guess it's a lot like that. Sounds very 8-bitish though. His name is Snild Dolkow, so you can google that and judge for yourself what you think!

Re: Rytmik Retrobits Takes You Back in Time

RyuZebian

There was a Video Game themed series of concerts in the city Malmö a while back, out of which 2 were chiptune acts. One with Korg-10 DS as his weapon of choice! The rock band Powerplay were the best of the bunch though, with their rockin' covers of the NES greats... Anyway, this Rytmik appeals to me, since I want to make music, but lack the know-how. And I figure that starting with such basic sounds might be a good idea!

Re: Investors Urge Nintendo to Develop for Smartphones

RyuZebian

To be fair, there are a lot of great independent titles for smartphones. Develop cheap, sell cheap is the way it goes. With a lot of opportunities for taking risks without risking much, developers aren't afraid of to try fresh and new ideas! Of course Nintendo does this as well, but they can only focus on so many projects, considering how big bugets they use. Their games CAN'T fail, or they'll lose a lot of money. Nintendo plays with higher stakes, simply put.

Re: 3DS Ambassador Titles Earn You Club Nintendo Coins Too

RyuZebian

@Late
Good for you! Really. But I believe Nintendo might be angry with me if I do so! Or something... It's more the neglection that angers me than missing out on rewards. Plus, with localized titles not having the cards in their boxes, there aren't too many coins to collect. :/

Re: FAQ: Nintendo Ambassador Program and Free eShop Games

RyuZebian

This was such a nice suprise after returning home from my vacation! I expected SOME update after being without an internet connection for so long, but this just made me happy for so many reasons...
1. Free games!
1.5. They're good ones.
2. More people will get a 3DS= More people to play with!
3. Some of the games were GBA titles, which probably means we'll get more GBA games later!

Re: Kirby Gets His Own TV Channel in Europe Tomorrow

RyuZebian

... Okay, I probably can't take this anymore. The show seems witty at times, with King Dedede being a loveable character. But Kirby just comes of like an r-tard pokémon! x( I would no doubt like the show if I saw it as a kid though, just like I liked Pokémon!

Re: Wii U Won't Support Blu-ray or DVD Playback

RyuZebian

@7
The problem isn't about price, really. It's about Nintendo seing this as some kind of way to combat piracy or something stupid like that!
... Now if you excuse me, I'm going over to Kotaku to deliver some swearing.

Re: Sakurai Talks Connecting Smash Bros 3DS and Wii U

RyuZebian

Give me the Melee physics, please! Dx I can't bear the floating of Brawl... I like to believe that it's one of the reasons I hardly play Brawl. That, and the stupid, easy character unlocking! I now that childhood nostalgia clouds my mind, but surely character unlocking was much more rewarding in Melee? Can anyone not bound by the chains of nostaliga confirm this for me? ^ o ^

Re: Review: Excitebike (3DSWare)

RyuZebian

One of my Wii VC titles that I actually played some... The 3D version is superior, but I appreciate that the reviewer didn't give in to nostalgia and rated it a 9 or something. A 7 is very suitable!

Re: First Impressions: Super Mario 3D (3DS)

RyuZebian

Aww yeah... It's games like this that will justify the purchase a 3DS! I'm looking forward to this, Maro Kart, RE: Revelations och MGS: Snake Eater at the moment. This'll be the year that 3DS releases pick up the pace!

Re: Fact Sheet: Wii U - 1080p HD confirmed, No BluRay

RyuZebian

External hard drive= awesome. As long as the file support is good this could function as a media player, with a greeeeaaat controller! Seriously, if they do this right the Wii U could function as an HTPC! One thing is for sure... I'll be getting myself a flat screen tv with full HD resolution next year.

Re: 3DS eShop Has Officially Opened Its Doors

RyuZebian

Excitebike is awesome, even better than on Wii! But now I want to catch up on DSiWare... Is there no compilation or list of different DSiWare reviews? That's right, I'm asking YOU, Nintendolife! As the best source of Nintendo e-ware reviews on the web, I think it's your duty to help us all with your awesome powers!

Re: Nikkei Corroborates Previous Wii 2 Controller Rumours

RyuZebian

@SanderEvers
It most likely will not be... It would be nice, but unlikely. Why? Because Wii 2 is supposed to be backward compatible with wiimotes, which use bluetooth for connection. 3DS doesn't have bluetooth! It's very unlikely that you would be able to connect controllers both via bluetooth and wi-fi. 3DS and Wii 2 will probably be able to interact a lot though!

Re: Tetris Gets an ESRB Rating for the 3DS

RyuZebian

Please make it download, please make it download... And please fill it with different modes and online compatibility! Playing against others online can be really fun, as long as you don't have to play against bots all the time, like in Tetris Battle.

Re: Europe, This Is Your eShop Launch Day Line-Up

RyuZebian

Woh woh woh..! "Free or 1 month?" I'm about to say something foul directed to Nintendo, but this site is too family friendly for it. I'll just go to Kotaku, then..
Edit
Waaiit... Does it mean you only get to keep it for a month (could be, we all know our 3D video is going to disappear) or is it free only to those who download it before 7th July? I'm so confused... Help?

Re: Games Do More Damage Than Passive Smoking, says Doctor

RyuZebian

@29
My most recent experience with violent children was about a year ago, but that was an intensive one. Kids (only the boys though) were hurting each other all the time! Their biggest inspiration? Star Wars: The Clone Wars...Which is rated 7+ in most countries, I believe. One of them told me that he had played GTA, too. Yet it was fighting with sticks that was cool, not pretending to rob and shoot people! xD I agree that parental supervision is the best thing for the kids! There's nothing as effective to stop violent play as an adult stepping in.
@30
I think it's about peer pressure - It's the things that are hot among kids that they're going to imitate. Not the thing that is the most violent! I had friends who played Counter Strike, for crying out loud! Yet I never played it, in real life or in game. I remember playing with sticks, mostly. Ah, finding a perfect one was sooo rewarding... As for real swords, I still want one... Slicing veggies could become a real hobby!

Re: Games Do More Damage Than Passive Smoking, says Doctor

RyuZebian

I like to believe that it's all about the magical age when kids learn to seperate fiction from real life! That happens at different ages for different individuals, but when kids stop playing with their imagination they are usually about 12. That's when they know that doing things in games is ok, but doing them in real life is dangerous and bad. It doesn't matter if you feed them Pokémon or Ninja Gaiden, they're still going to try to recreate the characters actions in real life! And hitting someone else with a stick is going to be the same, regardless if it was inspired by Ryu's sword or Marowak's bone club! Letting kids play games where you shoot each other is probably safer, since the recreation of that doesn't actually involve hitting each other! It's all done with aiming guns and making noises... Assuming you don't give them bb guns. But then you're just a bad parent, considering how that's dangerous, games or no games!

Re: Miyamoto: We Want to Create Meaningful Download Games

RyuZebian

I want a decent Tetris! With a few extra game modes to boot... And freakin' online play! WITHOUT having to play against bots, like in Tetris Battle on facebook. .' And yeah, good possibilities for Indie developers! The 3DS offers some interesting tools, now let people try them out, and it will probably result in something magnificent!
