Re: Features: Re-Examining Zelda: Twilight Princess

RyuZebian

I liked the game. I haven't played that many Zelda games, (1st one, OoT, Windwaker, TP and Phantom) and my favorites are by far this and Windwaker. I think TP feels a lot more epic in a lot of ways... Everything simply feels so grand, with great combat (yes, I liked the wagging) and presentation. I think I almost liked Windwaker more though, maybe because I was still a child, or maybe because I belong to those who loved it's style. I think in third place is OoT, then the first one and then Phantom... Oot feels epic in many ways, but I find it very hard at times (with bad controls, at least on VC). Same goes for LoZ. Phantom Hourglass just feels... Bad. Or more like mediocre. ANYWAY, Skyward Sword looks like it will be the best one yet! It looks the best, will probably control the best and probably brings many new things to the table!

Re: Prepare for Dead or Alive with Five Minutes of 3DS Gameplay

RyuZebian

Is it just me, or is this looking as good as any other DOA (REAL DOA that is) game? Everything looks solid, so I guess the weakspot could possibly be controls.... I'm pretty sad that the only seemingly worthwhile titles on 3DS are fighting games though. As good as they may be, it's not my favorite genre.

Re: Super Mario 3D to Use 3DS Gyro Sensor

RyuZebian

Is it just me who doesn't have a big problem with moving the console and still experiencing the 3D? I always have it turned on when playing faceraiders, and only occasionally lose the 3D effect. I think it's a matter of coordinating the moving of the console and tilting of the head/moving of the body. I think most people will get a hang of it after some practice though!

Re: Review: Ubongo (DSiWare)

RyuZebian

Wait, didn't the title of this review rhyme with "Congo" before, but has now been replaced with the current, subtle one? Was it regarded as racist or something?

Re: Rumour: Wii 2 to Cost $350, Support 3DTVs, Out in October

RyuZebian

$350? Sure. That would mean that Nintendo didn't skimp on the hardware this time around! I'm always willing to pay a premium, if it means a better console! But since the PS2, that console has had to be a Nintendo console, so the 360 was out of the question! I'm willing to pay this price if, and only if this one actually supports DVD movies! >: 3 Blu-ray support would also be a big plus.

Re: PlatinumGames President Saddened by Decline of New Ideas

RyuZebian

I really hope they make an innovative 3DS game! And a real Okami sequel, which nails the things that were soso in the previous games! In fact that could be those things can be a sole game! Brush techniques in 3D... Just imagine how it could be used to play with the dimensions!

Re: Win 1 of 3 Nintendo 3DS' & 4 Games with Ubisoft (UK)

RyuZebian

@theblackdragon
Oh, that explains it. :3 I was looking around sking myself "Hey, where's my useless comment?" xD Turns out it's in the useless-comment graveyard, among with it's relatives "offensive" and "confusing." Oh well. I guess I'll just give the generic "Good luck" then. Uninteresting to read, but slightly nicer.
Good luck, UK chaps! And if there be any gals entering, extra good luck to you!

Re: Cast Envious Eyes at Japanese Gamers Buying their 3DS Today

RyuZebian

@Objection_Blaster
I will. When I have money to spare, that is. I'm already doing political efforts in my spare time, and time is money ya know! But keeping poverty in mind when consuming is always important. Not to mention all the resources we're running out of! Everytime I buy something packed in plastic, I think of how that precious oil could have been used for something longer lasting, like a 3DS! :.(

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life 3DS FAQ

RyuZebian

Man, the launch line-up sure could be a lot better... I DEMAND, on behalf of all of Europe, that we receive Steel Diver on launch day as well! >: O Reggie says it's awesome, so why do we not get it!?

... Also, it's awesome to hear that the analogue stick works for DS games! I'm looking forward to playing Golden Sun with it!

Re: Even in Pieces, the 3DS is a Sexy Piece of Hardware

RyuZebian

@ James
Excactly. Apple are experts at that, but Nintendo have done very well lately. The last un-sexy Nintendo console I can think of is the original DS... It was blocky and didn't feel as uniformed as the Wii or DS Lite. Nintendo quickly realised that though, and replaced it with the Lite. Good move.

Re: Iwata: 3DS and NGP will Appeal to Different Target Audiences

RyuZebian

To me, the NGP looks amazing. To be frank, I'd almost want one of those more than a 3DS...Why? Because if I got one as a gift, I could sell it and afford a 3DS together with like 5 games! Nintendo is always the best when it comes to innovation, and their pricing has almost always been better than the competition. I bear no doubts that I'll be ridiculously jealous of some NGP games though... :/

Re: 3DS Update in May Includes eShop and Other Applications

RyuZebian

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the video software will allow ordinary video playback from sd card files... If not, I'll be pretty angry with Nintendo! > Also, the sound files support should allow for mp3s and WMA. I won't be outraged, as most of my music collection that I regularly listen to is already in AAC (because of the DSi's inability). But really, if Nintendo really want to keep up with ANY mediaplayer competition, they need good file support. I mean, what is the chance that someone will bring both their iPod Touch and 3DS? The latter probably has better audio quality (if it's as good as that of the DSi.), but that doesn't matter if it can't play the formats you want! And if you just plan for a little gaming, then people will pick their iPod. Or their cellphone.

Re: Pokemon Designer Explains New Legendary Monsters

RyuZebian

@1
Umm... Yeah. I'll pass on this one. I've pretty much passed on every Poké-game, and wound up playing my little brother's. Looking forward to retro goodness on the VC though, and hoping for an awesomelicious 3D remake or whatever of an older game! I only wish that Nintendo would just let go of the concept, and just give us every Pokémon there is in one game... Okay, fine TWO versions of the game!

Re: Plenty of Action in Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D Trailer

RyuZebian

Though co-op looks cool, I actually think I'll pass on this one. Mostly because I'll probably be close to alone to have a 3DS were I live for at least another year. It's strong singleplayer/shareable content games till then. Oh, and downloadables!!!! I'll actually start to download the ace titles that NL recommends, because this time around I expect a lot more potential than from the DSi! And I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for games that are must-haves in my book.

Re: Why the 3DS Will Not Use an Achievement System

RyuZebian

I'm happy with the Steam achievements I get! For games like HL 2, which is amazing but very linear, the achievements provide a welcome dimension of challenge (aside from higher difficulty levels). It really works well in Left 4 Dead too, since it makes you come back for more online play! And you know what's the BEST thing about Steam achievements? No score. You get the achivement, but it's not worth more than what it is in it self! No Gamerscore or sh*t like that, just the achievement! So you can't be ranked as a better player by buying LOTS of games and then get the easy ones! Oh, and the names of the achievements are usually really funny! I'm really excited about this coin system of the 3DS though! Rewards are always the best...

Re: Pachter: Nintendo Should Charge More for 3DS

RyuZebian

@ Chicken Brutus
What but Apple? They sell iPhones for huge amounts of money and then make even more by app sales! The problem is probably that Nintendo think that they can charge big, like Apple... I hope they follow their way of software licensing though, which would attract a lot of independent programmers! I mean, the iPhone has made Apple grow bigger than Microsoft!

PS. Nice avatar. The only thing that distracts me from my Nintendo games at the moment is New Vegas... <3

Re: Pachter: Nintendo Should Charge More for 3DS

RyuZebian

Yeah, I'm sick of people treating the dollar as if it was even close to the value of the euro! One euro is really worth OVER 35% more than the dollar! I'm not asking them to rise the price in the states, but maybe try to lower the price for us?! I'm not very angry about this case in particular, but very much so over this in general!

Re: 3DS Launches in Europe on March 25th

RyuZebian

I pre-ordered it from Game e few minutes ago. As I've previously said, I have the money needed. And if it costs 250 €, I can afford a game as well! None of the titles have REALLY caught my attention yet, other than the RE games and Mario Kart. BUT, I'm really excited about the downloadable stuff! I'm expecting som great indie titles and a lot of retro goodness! I really want to play the original Pokémon games, since my first with the series was Ruby.

Re: 3DS Battery Life Revealed

RyuZebian

Guess that explains the handy-dandy cool looking charging station! - You're gonna charge. A lot. Oh well, I have poweroutputs to spare! I just have to make it a habit of placing it in my charger every time.

Re: Nintendo Issues Warning on 3D Image Safety for Kids

RyuZebian

Oh please. Nintendo is the only gaming company that persists to show Health care warnings every time you start up their consoles. It's wise to take their advices with a pinch of salt, or maybe a truck load. I'm hoping for a warning screen that says "Warning, 3D!" in 3D though!
How ironic when the person who was eye damaged by the device and attempt to sue Nintendo is asked the question "Did you read the Health and Safety screen???" Either way it can be held against him! xD

Re: Talking Point: Your Nintendo Moment of 2010

RyuZebian

The unveiling of Golden Sun: Dark Dawn! I've never cried so much over a game being unveiled before! :=) And now that I've gotten my hands on it, I'm not dissapointed... It's a bit on the easy side so far, but still the best DS game so far. THE BEST.

Re: Talking Point: Your Nintendo Christmas Presents

RyuZebian

The 24th I got (that's right, Swedes are all cheaters who get gifts on the 24th!) Golden Sun: Dark Dawn! x=) I have yet to receive all my presents though, so I may very well receive something more.... With Steams holiday sale I've been spending a lot of time with computer games, but perhaps GG: DD will prove to be a real C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!! .... Probably.

Re: There May Never Be Another Smash Bros. as Hardcore as Melee

RyuZebian

@mariosmyhero
I think I did when I was 10...
A guy at school talked about how he had played the game at his cousin's and liked playing as "the flat guy..." At the time I thought I had already unlocked all characters! I was confused, and then played it A LOT, without any specific goal other than to obtain this character in some way... And after a while, I unlocked Mr. Game & Watch! Awesome. There can never be another game for me like SSBM. Never. It was what I spent almost all my Gamecube time with! If a friend came over, it meant Melee. Brawl can never replace a part of my childhood... I hoped for it to be both bigger, better and more badass than my previous SSB experiences. I was disappointed. It felt so INCREDIBLY shallow in almost all aspects. It's probably not as shallow as I think it is, because like I said, it can't compare with the magic of your childhood. Getting the "new character approaching" and beat it will never, EVER be beaten by any gaming sensation. Of all the disappointments in Brawl, I can't call the music one. I was at a new phase of my gaming hobby, in which soundtracks played a big role (and still do). The Brawl soundtrack is AMAZING and special in the way that Melee was as a game. And getting one of those CDs randomly dropped from the sky is really as close as I've come to have a Melee experience with Brawl. Oh well, that's how special it is to me. I'm glad it was hardcore!

Re: Review: Fireplacing (WiiWare)

RyuZebian

Instant download! Oh wait, I don't NEED to waste my money. My money is precious and best spent on good games. Good thing I remembered that before I bought this!

Re: Review: Golden Sun: Dark Dawn (DS)

RyuZebian

I didn't like the dialogues the first time around, but when I grew up and learned to actually understand all of it, I found it really engaging. I'm getting this game, but with a prayer that Camelot has a REAL challenge in there for the hardcore players! Like the Crosbone Isle of the first game, or all of the cool side locations of Lost Age.... When calling it easy, have you really found all extra summons and Djinns Corbie? I remember that being a real pain in the bum in Lost Age. Ah, the memories...
