Got the first game from Epic Free Store, but haven't tried it yet. But it did look like a lot of fun, so I'll get on that shortly, and I think I will get the sequel on the Switch.
I prefer having platformers on the Switch for that portability and I want to support the developers this time ^_^
I'm okay with really good stuff being tied to amiibo IF they also can be unlocked through playing the game and not having the unlockable right away affects the experience in a bad way.
Star Fox Zero's black Arwing was a really good one in that regard.
Acted as a pseudo extra high difficulty setting with how much damage you took and you could scan the amiibo to get it right away, or get all 70 medals and get it as a final reward.
Now look at Metroid Prime 4 locking the ability to play background music while riding in the desert behind an amiibo (or completing the game, but by that time the damage's been done), making an already very weak part of the game even worse, for an example of how NOT to use amiibo >.<
It's just a really well-designed and very fun game overall. Everyone who played it really likes it and Capcom is happy with the sales numbers, add the ending of the game to that and I can see a sequel happening down the line.
I was really impressed with how fun the multi-tasking is with the hacking while you're also shooting and dodging and the game constantly throws new toys and enemies at you.
Easy 9/10 for me and I've still gotta do some of the extra content that unlocks after beating the game. Unless Nintendo finally wakes up and drops a surprise banger or something, I can see this game being my GotY 2026 ^_^
Waited on double-dipping (I really enjoyed the original, despite its many flaws) for the 60fps patch.
Once this patch drops I'll be buying asap! This patch was only a matter of time imo, the original game on Switch ran very well so I had no doubt a 60fps patch was coming in the future.
Playtonic is pretty good at optimizing Switch ports, they even managed 60fps with The Impossible Lair back on the old Switch ^_^
One of my favorite games of the year it came out, it feels like a Gamecube game in all the right ways ^_^
(and no it's not an easy game at all! o.O)
Sadly no gyro aiming from what I've heard, so you're still stuck using the slow-mo mode for precise arrow shots.
One thing the review doesn't mention is that new game+ is actually quite different from the normal game.
Bigger and different enemy groups in regular combat and story bosses get some new attacks.
Prices for the paid route seem reasonable, but sadly not enough info on how much VP you can earn for free per battle. I know Scarlet & Violet give a ton of bonus points for reaching higher ranked tiers and stuff, but the trailer didn't give any concrete info on this...
But I'm very happy to see Meganium get such an amazing Mega ability. All its moves acting like Sun is active, even when it's raining, is amazing for Solar Beam and fire type Weather Ball spam and having access to the best recovery move in the game with Synthesis. Well deserved glow-up for what's been arguably the worst starter for ages!
@Sylamp Was curious about this too, but I only know of one example and that is Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition.
For some reason that game still ran a 1080p resolution in handheld and cut the fps to 30fps, instead of going 720p/60fps which based on docked being 1080p/60fps should have been very feasible o.O
@roy130390 If you do decide to return you'll find it's not even the same game anymore, so much has changed.
We've had multiple reworks of the damage system, reworks of status effects, reworks of many old frames, a ton of new modes, more weapons then you can count, tons of QoL stuff, etc.
Really enjoyed the demo! It's got that "simple yet hard to master" type of gameplay that never gets old and I'm digging the overall aesthetic. This and Kena: Scars of Kosmora on PC are definite Day 1's for me ^_^
Hmm, I like it quite a bit, but I feel like the set would've benefitted from the base plateau being around 10-20% bigger, so things could be spread out a bit more.
It does feel a bit messy with everything so close together.
Great choice! One of the better Fire Emblem games out there and the original GC release is very expensive nowadays.
A bit of a bummer that they pushed the sequel to the Wii, coz it'll be a very long time until people can see the conclusion with how slow Nintendo is with adding new generations to NSO v.v

Re: Nintendo Direct Announced For Tomorrow, 9th June 2026
Guess I'll join in with my wishlist:
If one of those happens I'll be very happy, otherwise it won't really matter anyway. Got lots of stuff already to play ^_^

Re: Round Up: Mina The Hollower Gets Glowing Comparisons To Zelda & Soulsborne In Final Previews
The article title reminds me that we haven't heard anything from that Samurai Pizza Cats game since its reveal.
I wonder how that game is coming along?

Re: Reminder: Resident Evil's Generation Pack Is Leaving The Switch 2 eShop This Month
@RenanLK Resident Evil 2 & 3 remakes are less than 10 bucks on PC.
Capcom does really good deals and usually within a year of a game releasing.
Re: Poll: So, Which Starter Will You Choose In Pokémon Winds & Waves?
Gonna go with the grass starter for a change. Browt just reminds me of Red from the Angry Birds movie and I quite enjoyed that movie ^^
