I haven’t heard this game talked about in awhile but one of the first games that I played for Switch was CaveBoy. Intriguing story, kooky characters, enjoyable but challenging platforming, and a memorable soundtrack. I think I read that one person designed the entire game. So impressive.
I’m getting ready to play Metroid Prime for the first time on Switch after just finishing Ori and the Will of the Wisps (tremendous game)… but can’t wait to get Wonder and think I will save if for Christmas time!
I think I’ve put in about 50 hours and I’ve finished 2 temples, barely done anything underground, collected 2 memories, and have found 52 koroks. The world is massive, I constantly get sidetracked, and I wish I had more time in the day to tackle this game.
While I really enjoy the game, I’m thinking about taking a break and tryout out Ori and the Will of the Wisps. I know it got good reviews and I really enjoyed the first game.
I can’t believe how some people have put in over 100 or even 200 hours already. Yikes. Love the game but nowhere close to finished and that’s ok because another Zelda won’t be coming out to play for awhile. Going to enjoy this one.
Love Horizon Chase Turbo and this update made my night. I play with my 3 sons and we’ve had some intense races. Love unlocking the new cars and skins too. We’ve worn out Mario Kart but this isn’t far off as far as family fun goes.
@Beaucine Regarding your first paragraph, no it’s not a given that we play better games as time goes on. I didn’t mean to imply that we always do. As often, the answer lies somewhere in the middle.
There are so many more things we can do this day and age in the Zelda series that we couldn’t do 35 years ago. But you make a great point regarding gameplay. I had as much entertainment with the original Zelda as I do with the most recent.
Regarding your last paragraph, I think maybe this is a matter of context or even semantics. I think by stating that “the game has aged surprisingly well” answers your question “is the gameplay good” regarding Crysis. At least this is how I interpret all of this contextually. But I agree with with a lot what you said. I’ll give you final comment if you wish. Thanks for discussing.
@Beaucine I don’t think I agree. I actually think saying that the game has aged well is a compliment to the game in this context. Also, I think you’re missing what actually occurs most often. When a game is first released, we love the game. As the years pass, technology improves, game design improves, etc., we get used to playing better games and, in hindsight, that original and older game that we used to think was amazing isn’t quite so amazing. Not always but sometimes.
I will always remember playing SMB for the first time. It was the best game that I’d ever played in my life. Over the years, now that I look back on it and see how the series has evolved, it is no longer my favorite game to play in the SMB catalog of games. But it has aged incredibly well and is a testament and compliment to the game, itself.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Swings Onto The Switch Online SNES Service Next Week
@KingBowser86 Yeah the minecarts had moments but I felt they were too difficult in some parts (Or I’m just not that skilled!)
Re: Donkey Kong Country Swings Onto The Switch Online SNES Library Next Week
@KingBowser86 Tropical Freeze is one of my favorite platformers ever!
