i can understand them. I'm waiting a few days each time to read NLife in hopes of good news, anything about Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, DK, Metroid, new IPs... It seems like Nintendo gave up. I hope they announce details about NX and the sequel to 3DS soon - and new games, please!
It may be just me, but Nintendo seems to be out of the spotlight lately. Where are the AAAs? Nintendo Direct? Mario, Zelda, Pokémon? New games and IPs? I don't expect IGN or GameSpot to deliver news about Nintendo, but NLife is talking about galleries, memories, late games coming to e-Shop, indies, opinions for weeks now. Don't take me wrong, I know there are many great indies, but they don't make everyone go insane for 'em. Where are you, Nintendo?
@Cyber-BLP-- I love Pokémon 1st and 2nd gen, specially. The first and second ones offered outstanding gameplay and simplicity when gameplay ruled over graphics. XY was a problem, though... Fighting became a thousand times better in 3D, finally, but the game just ends when you finish the story. There should be more post-credits content.
@Kaze_Memaryu You realize consoles also can't be upgraded to fit your needs, right? Smartphones aren't what phones used to be, just as consoles aren't what they used to be. My point is that technology changes according to creativity usage, so my argument doesn't end because PCs are upgradable. I never said the same games produced for consoles will be produced for phones, I actually hate playing with emulated analog stick. I believe games should be created having phones in mind, not consoles [when working for phones, obviously]. Skyward Sword would never work the same in other platforms, and it's an awesome game. If you consider depth to be games produced for consoles only, mainly with traditional controls, then there's nothing else I can tell you. Also, Phantom Hourglass was fully played with touch, so yes - it would work perfectly on phones, how wouldn't it? Games with depth can be produced for phones with phones in mind, not just ports of console titles - in that, I agree with you; there's no way emulating buttons will be as good as actual buttons.
@Kaze_Memaryu Although I can see your point, I don't agree with you, dude. Most things aren't or weren't created for what they do. Computers were war machines, today they can do pretty much "everything". Videogames played games, now you can browse around the internet, watch videos... The thing is: Creative people find new ways to use technology, if you don't think outside the box, you're never gonna move anywhere. Wii and DS wouldn't exist if someone hadn't thought about mixing a TV controller and motion tech with gaming, or how touch screens could bring something new to the table. Phones are used for much more than communicating, they have touch screens, "motion" sensor, etc, that can be used for gaming. Think about Prof. Layton or Zelda: Phantom Hourglass; these are brilliant games that would work perfectly on phones to name a few.
The fact that mobile gaming is mostly used for making easy money out of poor games with no depth or creativity [for what smartphones can offer] doesn't mean that a interested developer can't come up with something original. Every single console is limited by it's hardware, but you can do thousands of different things within these limits if you want.
Well, I get that. Fans usually forget it's an industry. I live in Brazil and just now we're starting to get translated games: some w/ subtitles, others dub too. The solution is quite simple - if you like it, then learn the language required to understand it. We all wanted videogames and had to make money to pay the required price, right? It's the same thing (except for region locked games, then you also need a JP console). I wouldn't understand the games I like if I didn't learn english.
Hahahahaha. Really, Capcom? I'm sorry, but these games are so old, I don't even feel guilty to emulate them. Why don't you create something new for a change? Say, a new Megaman X; I had the trilogy on my SNES, awesome games.
@Crimzonlogic Pretty much every fighting game includes "hot guys". If you look at it, most of them are tall, w/ strong bodies and powerful. That's just how hetero men usually understand "being hot". Since these games are mostly produced by male developers, it's their understanding of a hot guy that shows up in the game. Perhaps if a female developer created a fighting title, male characters would look different.
People usually remember how woman are affected by male culture (and it's important they do), but they tend to forget that superheroes and strong males are shown to boys as what they must be as well.
Ocarina of Time has been released in almost every single platform Nintendo created since N64; they got so much money out of it that I think it should be called public domain and be distributed for free already. That aside, it's a fantastic game that anyone who enjoys gaming should play. And I believe fans should give newer Zelda titles a chance to shine. They improved in many different ways, less inovative than moving to 3D, but still a lot of fun.
NLife could come up with statistics of most of these data... Would be fun to know what's the profile of these gamers, although I'm quite sure if you asked only NLife readers, the profile would be a bit different than, say, Pushsquare readers. =)
No! I'm really mad at Nintendo right now! So what? Those who bought WiiU and 3DS should throw them out now because nothing new will come unless we import it? You lost my respect, Nintendo. I've read so many times Nintendo being against the idea of dropping WiiU for its bad sales out of respect for its costumers. At least you should've done the same to us, brazilians. Ugh! It's like PS4 with absurd prices and Xbox forcing online all over again...
Nice choices, but for me there are uglier and more uninspired pokémon than these. Think about that sword-like pokémon from XY. That is not even a creature, it is an object! It feels like the designers still didn't realize what made the Red/Blue pokemon so cute and awesome.
I just started playing Smash Bros. Brawl. I'm a late Wii owner, so I'm catching up with older games. Aside from gaming, I'm watching Dragon Ball again. Great anime, it never gets old (just watched the second Tenkaichi Budoukai).
@ThomasBW84: I'm in Brazil, and I've received a demo code on my email. I think it's from Pokémon website, we don't have Club Nintendo in Brazil yet. Anyway, it doesn't work at our e-shop so far. I searched at Google, it seems to be a common problem. Can you guys ask Nintendo about this issue? Thanks.

@kiigu That can be a problem for now. But think how much space does a SNES, GBA, DS or N64 game takes. And they had awesome games.

@LtAldoRaine True story. I guess every generation have its uninspired pokémons. Personally, I love the Gen 1 and Gen 2 pokémons the most.
