A smartly marketed Wii U bundle with Mario Maker and Splatoon would probably be just as effective in selling units as a rushed Star Fox game, if not more so.
Also am I the only one that doesn't consider 2015 to be a terrible drought for Wii U? I mean between first party retail games and amazing indie eshop titles I have pretty substantial playlog, backlog, and wishlist. Almost overwhelming. (and that's coming from someone who only owns a Wii U this gen. No 3DS, no PS4 etc)
@ShaunOfNintendo I think its the Mii-ish artstyle plus the nail in the coffin for hopes of a Wii U Metroid Prime that upset everyone. Imagine if Gears of War 4 was anounced at E3 as a Windows Phone game with an artstyle that resmebles the Xbox avatars.
If power is all that it takes to get third parties on a Nintendo console then where were Borderlands Pre Sequel, Alien Isolation, Destiny, Far Cry 4 or any other late gen/crossgen games? The Wii U is more than capable of running those games. The userbase typically buys Nintendo & Nintendolike games. NX's best route is to be an inexpensive, impulse buy, Nintendo box that capitolizes on nostalgia, fun games, and their pop culture status.

Re: FAST Racing NEO Will Have a Hint of F-Zero Courtesy of Voice Actor Jack Merluzzi
This game looks great, but I can't get past the silly name. Fast... Racing... Neo....
It would be like if DooM was called "Violent Shooting Doom".
Re: Talking Point: Star Fox Zero's Delay Could Be The Final Nail In The Wii U's Coffin
@MisterMan, instead of wasting everyone's time with a listwar I'll just say I strongly disagree and move on. ( Too many Wii U games to play atm, )

Re: Review: Woah Dave! (Wii U eShop)
Anyone know if its possible to redeem my humble bundle code for the 3DS version to access the crossbuy code for the Wii U version..without a 3DS?
Re: Video: Learn More About the Experimental Rayman 4 That Got Dropped in Favour of Raving Rabbids
Despite the crappy party games Rabbids Go Home was a fantastic action/adventure platformer-ish game. Forgotten gem.
Re: Video: This New Soul Axiom Trailer Sets the Scene
I read the title as Axiom Verge and now I'm sad.

I do not want to see Samus in this artstyle. :/
