Re: Aspyr Rolls Out Frame Rate And Performance Update For Star Wars: Republic Commando

@Indielink What people don't consider is the ancient engines and code that these old games run on. Just because it's old doesn't mean it instantly will run perfect on new hardware. Look at Nocturne. PC players complaining it's locked to 30fps on PC, not realizing the game was created around Sony's emotion processor, and that the gameplay ties directly to the frame rate (same with Dark Souls 2 when it came to PC, weapons were breaking 2x faster due to the doubled frame rate). Can these issues be fixed? Probably. But no one considers the amount of work it takes to get a 20 year code written for a specific processor to run on modern hardware. Lazy? Maybe. Or maybe not worth the cost to develop.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Miss Instruction Manuals?

Yes, for pure nostalgia reasons. My first system was an Atari 5200, so I grew up reading manuals (tutorials, lol). I loved the art, the manuals, the weight of that box, opening a new game and reading the manual on the way home in the car, all awesome memories.
Realistically, not anymore. Everything is going to way of digital. Less and less effort is put into any printed materials. This makes me sad but it is reality. I buy only digital now. Almost every physical game I have purchased in the last 5 or so years has had no manual whatsoever. I have no need for a bunch of empty switch/ps4/xbox sitting around anymore, and not having to get up to switch games is nice.

Re: Maneater Takes A Bite Out Of Switch This May

She'll only come out at night
The lean and hungry type
Nothing is new
I've seen her here before
Watching and waiting
Ooh, she's sitting with you, but her eyes are on the door
So many have paid to see what you think you're getting for free
The woman is wild, a she-cat tamed by the purr of a Jaguar
Money's the matter
If you're in it for love, you ain't gonna get too far

(Oh-oh, here she comes)
Watch out, boy, she'll chew you up
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
She's a maneater
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
Watch out, boy, she'll chew you up
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
She's a maneater

You're welcome.
