@NeonPizza: It was the sounds of Punch Out!! that made it one of my favorite arcade games. I can still hear the bell ringing and announcer’s voice in my head. It was an integral part of that ambient murmur arcades had in the 80s (or at least the ones I went to).
I started playing Pokémon Go when they announced you would be able transfer Pokémon to Home. I played every day from the announcement to last Spring when I broke my leg.
I was finally back on my feet around the time they announced that Go to Home connectivity was imminent, so I was planning on starting playing again. Unfortunately, the transfer costs make how I wanted to use the service completely untenable.
I would give up the ability to transfer shinies and legendaries if it meant I could move my regular Pokémon over in much greater volume. I don’t have any incentive to play Go anymore. Maybe I represent a very small market, but I was averaging about $20 in currency purchases a month.
I've been wanting mobile access to Bank for a long time, so that feature is exciting for me. I don't own a Switch, and probably won't for awhile, but I'm eager to get a Home subscription so I can start wonder trading. There's nothing preventing me from using Home despite not having a Switch right? I assume I can catch relevant 'mons in the 3DS/DS games and then just pass them through to Home for trading. I can work on my 'dex for my eventual purchase of Sword and Shield.
I'm still holding out hope for additional features, like Pelago style interactions and training.
I’m intrigued by the mobile access. I’ve been wanting that for Bank.
I don’t have a Switch and I don’t plan on getting one until next fall at the earliest. I do play all the DS and 3DS Pokemon games though. I think I’ll get a Home subscription just to Wonder trade on my phone. That sounds really fun.
My only disappointment is I was hoping for some Pokémon Pelago like features.
I stay away from gapcha games, but I have no problem with the current level of Pokémon Go monitization. I primarily spend money to get egg incubators. It usually costs me around 10.5 USD for essentially 30 Pokémon hatches (supplemented with the coins I pick up in gyms). At .35 USD a pop, it doesn’t seem that onerous given my play time investment. I grew up shoving .25 USD into arcade cabinets for a few minutes of gameplay. The holy grail to me as a kid would be getting a roll of quarters for a present (10 USD). I have also increased my bag size and bought some clothing.
A corner store near my childhood home had this arcade game and I loved it. However, I think Intellivision’s 1979 NFL Football should be considered the first proper attempt at a proper American football simulation.
I just bought a 124GB SD card and a second 3DSXL. I bought my first in Aug 2015 and filled up a 64GB card since. It was looking a little dingy, and I wanted to be able to trae Pokemon to myself. I’ll eventually get a Switch, but probably not for at least a couple more years.
This young man is a ridiculously good wrestler. He dominated an incredibly deep field in route to winning his title and should have been named the outstanding wrestler of the tournament. He is one of the best American folk style high school wrestlers of all-time (which is prestigious in this sport). He also gave a very gracious and articulate interview after his championship match. I’d love if he could get involved promotionally with the Pokémon Company after he exhausts his NCAA eligibility.
Edit: He also has an excellent chance to be a future Olympian.
I’m very pleased by this. I bought Steam World Dig and Steam World Heist at different points, but haven’t played either yet. I’d prefer to have all three on the same system.
I’m actually going to miss this. I use it to create memes with my mii that amuse my wife.
I really enjoyed the miiphotos of the day when that was a feature. I never made any friends, so the photos would populate with multi versions of my own mii, often creating genuinely surreal works.
I really enjoyed the first season. My Castlevania experience is limited to the NES trilogy, and I saw enough clever allusions to elements from the three games to keep me satisfied.
I think video game universes should have loose continuities to allow experimentation. This is a fine riff on Castlevania themes.
I’ll definitely tune in. I listen to Chris Hoffman’s Power Pros podcast, which I believe Slate was also an original co-host of. It’s probably my second favorite Nintendo podcast. Radio Free Nintendo is by far my favorite.
I have most of my team relaxing in the Pelago waiting to be called up for duty. I was going to buy Ultra Moon in time to get the Dusk Form Lycanroc, but I was hoping to wait for bank functionality so I can use my pre-trained trial and catch teams. Good news for me
@Damo I'm very excited by the positive review. The Ghosts n' Goblins arcade cabinet was maybe my favorite game as a child. Although I beat it on the original NES, my recent play-throughs of GnG and SGnG on the 3DS involved heavy abuse of save states. How punishing are the continues in terms of progress-lost?

@gordjscott Do you know if that also applies to Pokémon who were super trained in gen 6? Thanks.
Re: Pokémon on Nintendo Switch is Due '2018 or Later', But That's No Surprise
I know it's very unlikely, but my hope is Diamond/Pearl remakes for the 3DS in 2018, and then Pokemon Switch in 2019.
