@NinjaNicky I hear ya, that aspect of digital has led to less risk-taking. If it's not absolutely certain I would enjoy a game, that's when I might consider a loose physical copy as a means of testing it out.. yeah it's a bit of work for sure, but better than spending $60 on a dud.
But for something like Metroid Prime Remake, there is no doubt it's something I will enjoy and so a digital copy to bypass all the scalping is an easy decision.
@Rainz My local Walmart had 6 copies in. For a moment "that" thought crossed my mind, but I decided to do better. Maybe I'm a sucker, dunno, but I don't like the practice of re-selling.
This story makes me feel great relief to not care at all for physical media anymore. With the Switch I've gone full digital and am never looking back. Let the scalpers, and the people who enable them, do their dance with one another while I spend my time enjoying a great game.
@RubyCarbuncle @RubyCarbuncle That's actually one of my main complaints about all the Yoshi games after the first Yoshi's Island: they all have rather terrible soundtracks.
Also have to agree that Yoshi's New Island was actually somewhat fun. Certainly better than Yoshi's Island DS.
What we will really miss in the coming decades is how purely fun gaming once was, once the industry becomes a free-to-play lootbox-infested digital casino.

Where's the "I don't care" option.
Re: Excellent Shmup 'Eschatos' Is Getting A Physical Edition From Strictly Limited
I don't go for the 'limited' marketing schtick anymore these days, so any easy pass for me. Will just buy it digitally and save a lot of money.
Re: The Legend Of Nayuta: Boundless Trails Adventures Over To Switch This September
@maxs05 ...sure we'll go with that.
Re: Soapbox: Can We Stop Pretending Switch Can't Run Call Of Duty?
Can we stop caring about Call of Duty? I'm glad the Switch library isn't polluted with that generic military shooter garbage.
Re: Poll: How Many 3DS Consoles Have You Owned?
Confession: over 30.

@Anti-Matter Wish it were possible to love a comment a thousand times. (: Mobile games are a cancer in this industry.

It continues to sadden me to watch my favorite hobby slowly become a casino.
