Our area still has rental places called Family Video. They actually have been very competitive to redbox with 50 cent rentals on classic movies and letting you rent three new releases and getting a fourth one free. Their game selection isn't too bad either with rent one get one free on older titles. It's how I discovered house of the dead overkill and de blob. They just started renting out 3ds games too.
Here's the answer to the problem. There is no answer, society is unpredictable we change our minds about what type of games we want to play all the time. Nintendo is doing its best to entertain us and keep us happy if they want to chose the family market so be it. I actually enjoy their family games. My only side note is to add some advertising to appeal to the family market. If I want a non family game I go to my steam account on PC.
Oh for the love of...just let the Wii die already how are they going to get the Wii U to sell if you keep releasing similar products to confuse people. The 2DS I'll give you it's designed for younger children. But the Wii Mini is just asking for more confusion from American moms and dads. UGHHHHHHHHH!!!!! >
Whatever! Moving on from the corporate we only care about money company. I can't wait to play super mario 3d world. My holiday Wishlist is huge for Wii U this year.
@darthmawl Very true I waited to buy my Wii U till the price dropped. I like playing my old gen console games and don't need to buy the latest system right at launch. I'm one of those poor humans lol but if I had money I would so buy games at launch. Lol
I hate the stock market. All they seem to care about is making quick bucks. Instead they should support Nintendo and remember how the 3ds started slow but now is huge. One thing I think we need to start doing is start nick naming the Wii U and just call it the U just like how people don't say xbox 360 they say 360. Keep working on those future games Nintendo and tell your advertisement area to get off their butts and start advertising those future titles like crazy.
@Capt_Charlie Well I get the graphics but motion control I would think would take awhile for some of the developers to master on how to utilize. Same way as to figuring out how to utilize the gamepads capabilities too. I'd think. Just my opinion is all.
Remember those 900 cheat code phone numbers you would see in the back of your old game manuals? I believe this is what they have evolved into now. 99 cents a cheat lol. Obviously it is not my type of purchase to make so hopefully the game will be balanced enough to let me ignore buying any of the micro cheat transactions all together.
Well the Wii had us with Wii Sports but beyond that it's launch was much like the Nintendo 64 where one game (super mario 64) defined it as a new era of gaming. Plus it took awhile for all the developers to figure out what they could do with the system. Example would be comparing Red Steel with Red Steel 2. I think we all need to take a look and realize that the Wii U didn't have that era defining game right off the bat at launch. But now I think Wind Waker HD is proving to be the start of that era defining game by showing off what the system can do. Having a secondary screen to glance at while navigating is a very cool addition to the fun of gaming. I feel it will improve from here on and become more fun. Because gaming should be about having fun and I feel Nintendo recognizes that more than the other two.
Well I guess that's why you invest in a case for the young ones 2ds and teach them responsibility and how to care for fragile items before you let them play with high tech expensive gadgets.
Advertising needs to be quadrupled in the US. I see the UK ads for wind waker HD and think how awesome is that then I try to look for US ones and.....nothing. I saw a couple of Nintendo ads on nickelodeon, but we need to spread the word further than one channel.
@GamerJunkie That's very interesting and that would for once make it worth the money. And yes I do know players and stats change every year I have played a few Madden games but didn't notice much change back then besides player stats changing. I meant no offense, sports games are not my type of game really anymore. I still like the crazy type ones from back in the day like NFL blitz though.
I never understood why madden is still popular. Why pay 60 dollars for it when you can buy last years copy at used game store for like 3 bucks. Also if Madden is the only game you buy then you're not a real gamer.
The stock market is a roller coaster on an Endless loop no need to get all Scared. As for third party support. Don't really care that much for third party games. I think it's marvelous that Nintendo still makes its own games. Ever see any games made by Xbox or Playstation anymore? Of course not they rely on outside sources to make games for them same with mobile devices. If your a video game console company who cares about gaming then you will make the games yourself.
