@World Yeah, I just found that out and edited my comment before seeing your reply. The naming conventions Nintendo has for different regions can be confusing sometimes!
@gatorboi352 You're probably right about that, but I just associate Unreal with the "gritty" dull and bland looking games. Don't get me wrong I've enjoyed some games that utilise the engine and it is very capable indeed, I just haven't seen a game that has the same kind of style and pizzazz as BotW. Even some fan made Zelda projects in Unreal look rather generic to me.
I just haven't seen something that uses Unreal with a stylistic art style. I do believe you that such games exist though!
EDIT: Scratch that! I just remembered/realised Borderlands 2 runs on a modified version of Unreal Engine! That game was beautiful.
Okay, I was wrong, but I still think Nintendo can do a better job with their own engines, even if it takes longer to create a fully fledged experience!
@gatorboi352 7 years? Skyward Sword came out in 2011 dude. I don't think they started proper development on BoTW until 2012/2013.
Even so, they're not afraid of delaying to make it a fuller, richer experience.
I'm glad they developed it from the ground up with their own engine tbh. Unreal is too generic for me. Nintendo sticking to their own dev tools is best.
@Bulbousaur Where does it say there's only one USB port on the dock? This mentions nothing regarding the dock. The USB TypeC terminal is referring to the charging port on the Switch itself that slots into the dock.
AFAIK, the dock has 1 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0. From what I gather, anyway.
@Anti-Matter Part of me thinks they'll just remove it all together, including on the Switch version. Still hoping Switch has the Ninty content, but I'm doubting it.
@Gerbwmu - There's already been the regular Splash-O-Matic which has Splat Bombs and Bomb Rush. The Neo Splash-O-Matic will have Burst Bombs and Inkzooka, according to the leak.
@khaosklub Well, I only ever played it once and that was when it first came out, so I can't quite remember some of the mechanics. What I do remember is that I enjoyed it, from a gameplay standpoint.
Fair enough that you didn't, everyone has their own opinions.
@FJOJR Lol, when will people stop bringing up Other M in a negative sense? Other M wasn't a bad game at all, it just had incredibly questionable plot devices. The actual gameplay was everything I'd expect from a 2.5D Metroid game.
And, I don't know about you, but gameplay makes up AT LEAST 50% of a game. Story is merely an afterthought. Not saying games with great stories aren't incredible, because they are.
I'm just saying people should look beyond the whole "You will do what I command" plot device Adam throws around in Other M.
Anyway, getting back to the topic at hand, Nintendo of America have always been risky when it comes to publishing 3rd party exclusives. NoE on the other hand published Xenoblade, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower here in the UK.
Also, remember that Disaster: Day of Crisis that never got released in the US? That wasn't as bad as NoA would have you believe.
For those wondering why this is only on New 3DS, it IS due to the hardware. Nothing to do with the extra buttons of the New 3DS (Although they do help.)
Pretty sure I read a blog post/tweet about why they made this decision and it's because they couldn't get the game running at a constant steady frame rate on the original 3DS range.
I have to agree with how much shtick one gets for being a Nintendo fan here in the UK. But I'm not afraid to tell people I like them. I get people who are like "lol u like kiddy games" to people who are slightly interested in what Ninty are up to but wouldn't buy one of their consoles.
I have sold a few people on the Wii U and 3DS that actually bought them though.
But yeah, I'll tell a CoD/FIFA fanboy that Yoshi's Woolly World looks amazing. Don't care about the negative feedback. I'll like what I wanna like.
@Tsukipon Why on Earth you think the stock situation is fine in the UK is beyond me. Amiibos are in short supply in Europe and UK as much as they are in the US. If you don't get hold of a preorder, it usually means you won't get one. Unless you're lucky enough to walk into a store and they have the latest wave. (Which certainly isn't the case in my town.)
I'm still missing out on Shulk, Meta Knight, Dedede, Lucina, Robin and Ness. And I'm living in the UK, which according to you has an abundance of amiibo? Nope, the situation is just as bad over here.
@RainbowGazelle I already have all of Wave 3 (Including Rosalina, thank God), it's just the February wave I'm not sure about. The ones I've preordered on Nintendo UK should be fine, but my Amazon preorders are basically a matter of whether or not they get enough stock to fulfill their preorders.
@RainbowGazelle That's what I'm hoping for. I'm not even sure if I'll be getting half of Wave 4 (the real Wave 4 in the UK, I mean.)
I preordered Shulk, Dedede and Meta Knight from Amazon, but part of me thinks they'll cancel my preorders because they can't meet stock demand or something.
I'm guessing Lucina and Robin will get "reprints", because of their compatibility in Codename: STEAM, but if they don't, that's stupid.

Re: Cooking Mama: Sweet Shop Will Be Open For Business On 3DS This April
@World I think @countzero may be referring to "Cooking Guide: Can't Decide What to Eat?"
It was a title that was actually published by Nintendo themselves and I believe the developer was the same as NES Remix and Theatrhythm.
Edit: Nevermind, just found out the game I mentioned is actually called Personal Trainer: Cooking in the US. My bad!

Re: Super Bomberman R's Retail Price Has Finally Been Confirmed
@Dezzy The sad thing is $50 is more or less on par with £50 now. You can thank Brexit for the pound being worthless.

Re: Video: LEGO City: Undercover Re-Release Gets a Shiny New Trailer
I wonder if the Switch version will retain the Nintendo references/content? I sure hope so.
Re: Poll: We Want Your Views on Splatoon Version 2.0
I don't understand why people are complaining about getting disconnected all the time.
I can be in a Skype call and play Splatoon online without getting a single disconnect. Heck, I don't even use a wired connection.
I do have 100Mb broadband through fiber optic though.
Re: E-litre 3K Scope And Neo Splash-O-Matic Headed To Splatoon Tomorrow
@Yalari I found bomb rush with Suction Bombs to be really effective.
Re: E-litre 3K Scope And Neo Splash-O-Matic Headed To Splatoon Tomorrow
@Mineral I'm 99% sure it will have that set up.
@Chaoz, @Yalari and @CB85 - Read my post above.

I really need to replay it at some point though.

Re: Official Nintendo UK Store Kicks Off amiibo Pre-Orders for Wave 4
Damn, Lucina, Robin and Ness are all sold out at GAME, Nintendo and ShopTo have stopped taking preorders.
This wave may be the only one where I can't pick up the whole lineup. :/
Anyone know any other places that still have these in stock?
