@John_Deacon I greatly enjoy DKB to Odyssey, and Odyssey was great. This will be a debate to be had in perpetuity.. so luckily there's no wrong answer. But hey... death, taxes, and comparison being the thief of joy.
I'm really holding out for the hopefully to-be-updated ability for the switch 1 controller to be able to wake the console from sleep. It's a big deal for me... my switch 2 isn't convenient to get to every time I want to play it....
But if N decides to keep it proprietary to the pro 2 controller..... which is likely... I'll probably cave. I hate to say it, but it is what it is. I've had the same original pro controller since ~2017 and it's still going strong... so I'm confident that the $85 investment of the pro controller 2 will be worth it... but still... how much am I gonna spend on this thing?
I can't stand joycons, so I don't have too much of a choice
I'm loving the open world... The challenges are fun and I enjoy using the rewind feature to practice until I get it right. I'm sure they'll add a lot more stuff in the future... but even if not, I'm really pleased with it.
I'll probably hang back for a year or so. See how things shake out. The last Nintendo device I bought on launch was the 3DS... and I still have trust issues because of it. Besides, my backlog is embarrassing, so I have plenty to play until then.
The exact opposite for me. I'm gonna pretend that the switch 2 doesn't exist until at least the second iteration of it. The handheld battery life alone is enough of a nonstarter for me. In the meantime, I've got a big enough original Switch backlog to last me until the Switch 3, so I'l just be digging into that for the foreseeable future. Not to mention how much cheaper all the switch games are gonna get over the next year or so.
I'm actually more excited about this one than the Switch 2 direct next week. Being the last original Switch direct before the 2 takes over the news cycle, I'm expecting something interesting from Nintendo. They usually have a last neat trick up their sleeve at the end of their console cycles
@Thief just sail the high seas, if you're not gonna play it on some moral ground - and that's really the only hurdle. And then buy something from the devs when something like merch drops. There, all absolved.

Re: Former Nintendo Execs Fear We Might Be Waiting A While For A 3D Mario On Switch 2, Thanks To Donkey Kong
We have all the time in the world. We're a couple of week in to what will probably be a ~10 year console cycle.

I'm conflicted...

@hashkey which is incredibly unlikely....
I'm so ready for the switch 2 age.

Why would anyone "worry" unless they held stock?

You're a Thief, you'll figure it out.

@Mrkittyhead Salty?.. Because someone else didn't think a game was perfect? Do you own Team Cherry stock or something?
