@MsMaestroon No rewind feature. That's something that usually found on emulated releases. This is your more standard port.
However it is more forgiving, there is no 1ups and you can repeat special stages by using in-game currency that you earn while playing.
We already have the base game to see it's quality. It's unpolished and with an absurd amount of regressions compared with the Mega Drive. The videos of Plus show that they are continuing of that.
Then again considering how Nintendites treat Game Freak, it's no surprising seein them in their natural habitat of sucking up and excusing up publishers.
@21. Irken004. Sonic Retro pointed out that "PC" listed there may stand for Nintendo's Project Cafe, and actually makes more sense than a Personal Computer in this kind of release.
@Link79 Actually what helped nintendo selling after the crash of 1984, was R.O.B. and Duck Hunt. That helped giving the image of the NES not being "another videogame system", (remind another console... history repeat sometimes hum?) When the little grey box entered the homes of americans they droped the act. But of course the quality of the titles released, such as Mario as you said, helped the NES not becoming just a fad.
@BassX8 In the full game, you have several save points in the same part of the game of the demo, those act as checkpoints. I think two in the village and two in the egg corridor. You can use them as much you want. And yes there are a good amount of them in the full game don't worry, you will never have to repeat huge amounts of distances.
Don't understand the negativism? Saying bad things shows that you have an high standard and that you understand how games are before even touching it and that makes you coooooool =D.
Now seriously, i still linking it and i think it will be a true Metroid game worthy of the series. But i will wait for reviews, not that i have doubts, just playing safe, my money doesn't grow on trees.
@22 Must be old then, because he said several times since the begining of Prope that he really wanted to make "his games" (like Ivy the Kiwi?) than really continue Sonic or other Sega franchise
I heard about this on tv around here time ago, it's isn't really my cup of tea . But anything that helps developing the industry around here in Portugal is always welcome.
Aside of the obvious Boss drops? Yes he does, he doesn't have a "coil" or a "jet", he have a treble adapter. But the rest is the same.
And Bass have another weakness not mentioned in the article. His regular shots don't go trough walls, like Mega Man or Proto Man, and he can't walk while shooting his regular shots.
Star Fox 2, it's really a shame that wasn't released. I really had to play in a emulator (with the fan translation + fixes), it is one of my favorite Star Fox, I hope that Nintendo changes that and release it in some form, i will gladly buy it.
@KrazyKain facepalm No he isn't called Mr. Traveler, it's just a (fan) nickname to avoid spoils about his real name. (Yes we're are talking about the main character.)
@Artix The only problem with the translation, it's the fact that rabid fans takes too much for the "familiarity" of the fan translation. Just another case of "It's different, now it sucks." (So bad that Tyrone is considering make Barlog saying Huzzah! again, the word that Aeon Genesis, chosed for Barlog catchword.
The other problems, yes they exist, but easily avoidable, and the composer said that Nicalis are working into it. Now let's see if we see results.
And as a reviewer the is no way I would get this a 10 as much i LOVE cave story. The game is a available as a freeware on a PC, and have some bugs (just glad they are going to correct them) that render it "not perfect" that is a ten. But have enough quality content to justify a 9, so i agree with Corbie classification.
@Bass X0 Typos are in propose (the characters using a IM service in a computer.) Or by pointed people that doesn't know that "examinate" is a word. Maybe a . or , missing but nothing too serious. Or maybe just rabid fanboys that some names aren't the same as the fan translation back then.
The other issues will be corrected in a patch, (and you and me don't need to care about those, they will be already corrected by our PAL release.) Even some of the new music are missing some drum and some other instruments, pointed up by this version composer, i didn't actually noticed, music still fine, maybe some will like the old one more, but he IS the composer so he knows it. Before the patch, the gamecrash is easily avoidable, don't open the map in a location, called "Outer Wall", you won't need it, believe me, this will avoid the game crash, when you change the location there.
That's all, and doesn't ruin the awesomeness that is the game, you can see in metacritic or something that this isn't the only "above 8" review out there.
@AlexSays Yeah who cares about supporting who made the game and receiving extras and playing a fun game doing so. After all, being disrespectful to others nowadays only makes you cool and sexy!
But in the way, this is a good sign, if people didn't care about the game, they wouldn't be disappointed with the conservative price system at this time, it isn't the first time some price like this happened on the wii shop.
@theblackdragon There is no need to take it seriously. Of course I'm not wishing something bad to someone. But maybe it helps get someone... An change of perspective.
You have to buy 2000 points. OH NO BIG PROBLEM! Pfff, only excuses, you can easily by an SNES/MEGADRIVE game in vc with the spares, and 20€ isn't noting comparing with the quality of the game. I hope that you nay-sayers, work hard in your professional life to fail BIG TIME in the end for lack of support, to see how "beautifully" is what you are doing right now.
You people are not better than pirates. Just because the pc version is legally free, doesn't make you better for taking the game and spiting in the hands of the one who made it instead of giving support, just because the "law" isn't in their side that was a choice he made years ago, and the law is just for protect the people works anyway.
I will fully support Pixel for creating the game, and Nicalis for making it better for the console. And i know the price it isn't their fault, it's Nintendo, and i bet if they didn't begged for it, we all would have to pay 1500.
My first Nintendo console. You will be my favourite little big brick forever my friend. The old times, playing Mario Land, Donkey Kong Land, some 3º party awesomeness... or a bit more recent, the famous Blue & Red RPG that we played all together for the ultimate 151 price, that doesn't need introductions. Your time is long gone, my loved brick, but your legacy still lives on, bringing smiles to the children and beyond.
@Zork2 The regular version of Final Fantasy IV perhaps. Now this mutilated "American kids are stupid" version, no way. For me the review was too high, when there are better versions out there.
Oh an Corbie, thank good for saying it right. "While the game was the second numbered Final Fantasy when it was released in North America back in 1991, it's actually the fourth entry in the series due to the second and third 8-bit releases remaining in Japan at the time." Some reviews like to say it wrong like, "Final Fantasy II Internationally" when it was really only in SNES US or for example that the real II and III weren't released.(implying that they still aren't released.)
@Kevin Just because you don't know how to play it, doesn't mean it is crap. For me it's the one of the most challenging retro 8-Bit JRPG ever, and one of the first to be story driven in the console world. Very underrated and very misinterpreted.

Congrats America, you received the worst version of Final Fantasy IV that can be out there! I will wait for VI here, I guess...
Bah, any real fan knows that Samus isn't an mindless robot. Haven't all of you "fans" read the official Manga with her origins? (Yes it is official, you see art and story of it, in Zero Mission and Fusion.) There is a reason why Samus consider Ridley her nemesis. And yes it wasn't pretty and gave her several physiologic problems. Yes, under that suit there is a Human.

@RubyCarbuncle And assuming on the internet those who don't share your opinions are beneath you and losers is the responsible adult response?
Your response about a video-game is so bitter find it frankly quite baffling.

I would be fine if the remake was on the scope of Trials of Mana.
Alternatively, on Live a Live.

I'm not denying Spain in this, it would be stupid considering the version names, the starters and the map.
Also Regarding starter names i'll just say that quack noises in Spain are "Cua" and in Portugal are "Qua" ¯(ツ)/¯

@deafdood The map seems to be based on the whole Iberian Peninsula

Bruh.
Nice pick for the water starter, as far as I know Disney Duck comics were very popular in Iberia.
