Re: Smash World Tour Announces Cancellation After Notice From Nintendo

@HeadPirate
But that isn't the point. The point is that the esports scene is a large part of the Smash community and regardless of legality or opinions, SWT is what helped made it popular (professional Smash). In most people's eyes, this will be seen as a negative thing and a form of gatekeeping (which isn't true or shouldn't be).

Everyone has to move to Panda's events if they want to partake in the esports scene now. I do not care about having to make this switch. If Panda's event is just as good if not better than SWT, then there isn't really much to lose in the long-run.

But SWT is still more firmly established than Panda's in all ways but being licensed. Nintendo should have hurried up with the licensing and SWT should have delayed the event. I feel like an "SWT x Panda Collab" would have made some clicks.

Maybe they'll have that license next time. A comeback story might make SWT more popular assuming they aren't overshadowed by Panda.

Re: Review: Temtem - An Innovative Pokémon-Like, With Depth And Grind In Equal Measure

I think you guys might be exaggerating on the grind. It takes around 60 hours to complete the main campaign including slacking off a bit. Personally, it feels just as grindy as a Pokemon game without exp share (I fought every NPC I could). The game has a LOT of dialogue and character interactions so you could actually just play it for the story and combat only.. which is kinda what I did.

And yeah, it has a battle pass for cosmetics. Every main city for each of the islands also has a normal cosmetics shop you can buy stuff from with the normal in-game currency. I personally don't know how to feel about the battle pass (because the current one is mid imo), but I guess even FF XIV and WoW has their own cosmetic shops requiring irl money... And XIV requires payment for a monthly subscription AND any expansion after Heavensward (but we ignore that because it's massively successful for a reason and they deserve it). WoW's expansions eventually become free when the next one comes out so you just have to worry about the subscription in that one. Temtem's case isn't unique.

Also if you max out your Battle Pass in Temtem, you make enough of the special currency back to buy the next one. Since Temtem is an indie MMO, it makes sense they would do something like this to help keep a steady flow of cash money to continue funding future updates. They have to make money after all and it took them 6 years to reach update 1.0.

Not saying everyone's concerns have no grounds. Just keep in mind that they DO plan on updating the game past 1.0 and the money has to come from somewhere.

And yes, I'm bored. I typed this all up because I really do have a lot of time on my plate...

I guess it's just two buttons to anyone who just wants to get it over with for whatever boosts it gives (which would be stuff like unit synergy for easier combat).

I especially liked Fire Emblem Warriors (the first one) because you could control 6 units at once and tell them all who to attack or protect. Very fun. Would recommend. Felt like Robin.

@Bermanator

It's about time NH started becoming a fully fleshed out game compared to it's predecessor. This game is like a skeleton of New Leaf. Sure, we got terraforming, Pro Designer, the ability to relocate buildings, and crafting now, but it sucks that on release day, the game is literally missing everything else including events. It all has to be updated in.

And we were even missing the ART GALLERY of all things, lmao?

Hey, if TES VI blows up with mods like Skyrim did, regardless of whether or not it's good or bad on it's own, I don't have to worry about it.

I don't really know anything about the status of Fallout besides that 4 sucked because the story.. actually tried to DEFINE your character. I don't think TES VI will go that route after the backlash for it.
