Miyamoto has been quoted as saying he needs fresh ideas for a new F-Zero. Death Race Battle Royale?
Those digital shoulder buttons on the Switch controllers are ideal for F-Zero X style side attacks- one thing in particular that is undisputably better in F-Zero X.
Seeing early screenshots of F-Zero 64 in N64 magazine first piqued my interest, the futuristic tracks and hovercrafts looked very appealing. When my pre order arrived, it exceeded my expectations. The handling and gameplay was nuanced but felt very rewarding when mastered.
GX is probably the most hyped I've ever been for a game. The video on a GameCube demo disk (can't remember which game it came with?) looked amazing. The final game was just as impressive and still looks great today. Beating all cups on Master and Story Mode on Very Hard were some of the most memorable of Nintendo gaming accomplishments.
Last but not least, discovering F-Zero Central after searching for GX staff ghost tips. Climbing each games time trial ladders added a lot of replay value after beating all the staff ghosts. F-Zero Maximum Velocity was a particular highlight for me, I managed to get a few short lived 1st places. I highly recommend looking up the web site if you've got any interest in F-Zero games.
@antdickens F-Zero could do with a positive news article after this. I've seen articles detailing Zelda and Mario speedruns in the past, a similar F-Zero article would make a good read. The F-Zero Central web site has a long and rich history of Time Trial competition, I'd be happy to help with details on records, advanced techniques, top players, videos etc.
The thing I don't understand is Nintendo's claim all the Virtual Console games are individually optimised. Clearly this wasn't at all, no one with any prior experience of playing the game could have tested it.
StreetPass South Wales is also having an event on 31st October in The Little Man coffee shop in Cardiff. It was organised last minute, a proper Facebook event page should be up tomorrow.
Considering Nano Assault recently released on PS4, I wouldn't be surprised if they're taking so long so they can release FAST on Wii U and PS4 simultaneously.
Nice review. I only got to try multiplayer about once back in the day, the single player certainly kept me entertained enough though. I'm looking forward to challenging any times posted to Miiverse.
It's a shame so many dismiss this game without really giving it a chance. They added a lot of depth to the controls compared to the SNES original. Once you understand and get the hang of it, it's a joy to play.
@Azikira if you had to stop to make turns, it sounds like you never used drifting. Maybe if you revisited the game and learn all the controls properly, it will change your opinion.
A remake of a 14 year old game in more demand than almost everything other than Metroid Prime 4? No wonder series like F-Zero and Star Fox are pretty much dead. :/
An eShop F-Zero is a nice idea, gives fans the new game they're desperate for without requiring a huge development budget. And why not throw in some NFC figurines for each ship too, allow extra customisation like Pokemon Rumble U.
Wow the StreetPass zone looks huge compared with when I was there in 2012. I was getting about 100 StreetPasses a day back then, how much were people getting this year?
Really regret missing out on tickets, I'll be buying 2014 tickets as soon as they're available!
This just happens to coincide with Swansea StreetPass Network's monthly meet up.
I've seen people mentioning the Midlands and Cornwall. Both have StreetPass groups. The Midlands one is brand new and the South West group is celebrating its 1st year anniversary at the end of the month. Check the StreetPassUK web site for details.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life's Favourite Legend of Zelda Games - 30th Anniversary Edition
Main thing to take from these results, nowhere near enough people played the masterpiece that is Link's Awakening.

Re: Hardware Review: REVO K101 Plus
Is it hardware emulation or software emulation for the GBA games?

Re: Review: Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails (Wii U eShop)
Does each level save high scores or fastest completion times?
Re: Review: F-Zero Maximum Velocity (Wii U eShop / Game Boy Advance)
@the_truth GP Legend could be blitzed through in about an hour. It was a disappointing sequel to Maximum Velocity on so many levels.

Re: Nintendo Shows Off Upcoming Golden Sun and F-Zero GBA Wii U Virtual Console Releases
@Samurai_Goroh Outdoes it in every way how? GP Legend suffers from poor track design and an extreme lack of difficulty.

Cheers @Giygas_95
Also @Shiryu I'll be sure to check out your link later too.
Re: Nintendo Shows Off Upcoming Golden Sun and F-Zero GBA Wii U Virtual Console Releases
Where can I find that F-Zero Maximum Velocity round table debate? I'm interested to see what was said, it's such an underappreciated game.
I'm also interested why so many people think GP Legend is better?
Re: Australian Ratings Board Reveals Portable Castlevania and More F-Zero for Wii U's GBA Virtual Console
"GP Legend is way better than Maximum Velocity" comments always puzzle me.
Re: Magmar and Electabuzz Set for Pokémon X & Y Distribution Event at GAME in UK
Do they have any exclusive moves that they'd otherwise be unable to learn?
Re: Club Nintendo Rewards Updated for January
Teasing us with a BS F-Zero 2 picture... For a second I actually thought it was news about Nintendo releasing that on the Virtual Console!

Re: Surprise! Aonuma Doesn't Consider The CD-i Zelda Games To Be Canon, Either
It'd make an interesting read if Nintendolife could track down one of the Zelda CD-i developers and do an interview.

Re: Criterion Working On "Amazing" Unannounced Racer For 2013
A new sci-fi style racer like F-Zero, without a lazy EA licenced soundtrack.
