So Nintendo is just releasing these games for free to the Ambassadors, and then they're done with them? What a waste of coding and emulation. If Nintendo were smart, they'd put these games on the eShop next year so they can make some money back.
If they won't go back to using buttons for combat, then they should just forget about the upcoming 3DS Zelda. And don't do touchscreen combat, I don't want to be poking and swiping at my 3DS screen to fight enemies.
He isn't leaving Nintendo. He's just stepping down from his "General Producer" of all the big Nintendo games to focus on smaller projects. He will still be at Nintendo, he's just going back to actual game development.
Are you NLife reviewers calling Smash Bros. Brawl a poor outing for Sonic's rivalry against Mario? Cause I remember when he was announced, everyone was ecstatic about having a Mario vs Sonic fight.
Kirby's Adventure doesn't use red curtains. It just has a pink background. I don't know why some of the 3D Classics fill the entire screen (Excitebike, Xevious), while others have a fit 4:3 aspect ratio (Kirby's Adventure, Twinbee).
Love your avatar, but I didn't know Ren and Stimpy was popular in Japan.
Another terrible week for Nintendo downloads. I bet we'll get Mega Man X2 the week before Christmas, then Street Fighter 2 (online?) the week after Christmas.
@SteveW
RetroCityRampage might not even come out on WiiWare. It's been advertised for Xbox Live Arcade though, so it might just stay exclusive for that.
How did you get the game? Are you a reviewer for some big-name website?
14 levels isn't bad at all. It's more than the console version (which was way too short, IMO). There wasn't enough level variety (no ice stages, and the only lava stage was the horrible Crisis City). The best levels in the console version are Green Hill, Chemical Plant, Speed Highway, Seaside Hill, and that's it.
I was slightly disappointed by the lack of variety in stages in the console versions of Generations, so hopefully the 3DS version doesn't let me down.
I love how they kept the Sonic Rush-style gameplay for Modern Sonic (in both 3DS and console versions). I absolutely love the speed boosting through enemies, going as fast as you can.
Agreed about the save points thing. Ocarina of Time allowed you to save wherever and whenever you wanted, but then Majora's Mask limited it to only save points or by playing the Song of Time backwards (which reset your progress and item collection).
The fact that Skyward Sword brings back this feature from Majora's Mask is only a minor inconvenience.
If you think save points are archaic, then you'll hate the Metroid series.
Sega couldn't develop this themselves? They had to outsource it to some obscure 3rd-party developer?
Good thing most Sonic games are still developed in-house. Most of the ones made by Dimps have been mediocre. Though if it wasn't for the influence of Sonic Rush, the 3D Sonic games would be nowhere near as fun.
And those graphics are terrible. They look like cardboard cut-outs laid on top of bland, textureless backgrounds.
He said the next game will not be a remake, it will be an original Zelda built from the ground up. I don't want a Majora's Mask remake, or any remakes for that matter. New, original content is what the 3DS needs.
We already got remakes of Street Fighter 4, Ocarina of Time, StarFox 64, Rayman, Splinter Cell, etc. Need more original content please!
This proves that NoA and NoE have given up on the Wii's Virtual Console. Months without any new VC games is a sure sign that the service is dead outside Japan.
The Vita has a touchscreen, rear touchpad, and 2 analog sticks. Sony has all their bases covered, Nintendo should too. The more control options, the better.
Just look at the Wii U controller, that thing has everything. Good thing Nintendo planned ahead with the Wii U controller.
Aww what?! A Mario bundle would be a perfect way to boost sales in North America.
NoA sure knows how to displease us.
@SKTTR
You really think Nintendo would release a redesigned system this early? That would make the early buyers even more angry.
The second slide pad is an OPTIONAL accessory. It's not required at all. There is no guarantee the 3DS will be redesigned. Nintendo might think it's not worth it.
Master System games are a poor imitation of NES games. NES games are far superior in gameplay, sound, graphics, music, IMO. Sonic Chaos is nowhere near as good as the Genesis games. My score: 2/10
I downloaded this game to try it out. Bleh, the controls are terrible, the presentation is dull, the graphics are completely lifeless, and the gameplay is monotonous.
The Mario vs DK games have excellent level editors. Imagine a full-fledged platforming adventure with a robust level editor... It might not work for a 3D game, but 2D games like New Super Mario Bros. would be much better with one.
Nintendo is cheap, we just have to deal with it. The iPod Touch Gen4 shoots HD video and pictures (up to 720p), so I don't see why Nintendo can't put better cameras in their handhelds. Even the Vita has better cameras than the 3DS!
I just want them to update the sound recorder so we aren't stuck with a 10 second recording limit per sound file. Adding a "Play All" option would be nice as well.
I have a feeling the video recording feature will be extremely short, like less than 2 minutes of recording time. Just like how the sound recording only gives you 10 seconds of recording time.
Prove me wrong Nintendo. Stop holding back and do something amazing for once.
Here is what I want Iwata to reveal:
Add StreetPass people to your friend list
Allow us to transfer our purchased Wii Virtual Console titles to the 3DS
Announce more GBC games, and more systems in general
Flash support for the internet browser
Youtube app
Facebook & Twitter apps (for those that care about that stuff)
Allow us to save different types of image files from the browser, not just JPEG images
Messaging and IM feature
Yahoo Messenger, AIM, etc. apps
update the eShop so games are categorized better, no more useless categories
Give us an option to sort the Home menu icons by name, by type (3DS software, DSi software, VC software), by download date, by most played, etc.
You don't have to switch cables to fix that problem. All you do is go into the "Operations Guide" and press Z A 2 to activate the "component cable interlace mode".

I did the Faron Woods part first, and now I'm at Lanayru Desert. Did I do the events wrong?
Re: LEGO Batman 2 Gets Man of Steel, Wonder Woman and More
They should change the name to "LEGO DC Heroes", since it's not just a Batman game now that Superman and Wonder Woman are sharing the spotlight.

Re: Reggie: Virtual Console on Wii Isn't Dead
@nintygaming
If it really is about legal issues, then why did they port Yoshi's Island to the GBA, complete with all the fancy Super FX stuff?
Re: Reggie: Virtual Console on Wii Isn't Dead
If it isn't dead then why not release more games on a consistent basis?

Re: Rumour: 3DS Video Update Lands on 30th November

Oh but the 3DS is another DS, just like the Game Boy Advance was another Game Boy and the PS3 is another PlayStation.
And someone should change the article's title. It isn't a rumor anymore if there is video proof.
Re: This is Hero of Sparta!!

Re: Mega Drive Strider Confirmed For European Virtual Console
Sega is "publishing" the Virtual Console version of Super Street Fighter 2? Why? Capcom made the game, not Sega.
I guess Capcom doesn't care about the Wii VC anymore.

$99 is a steal, but I guess that's just the Black Friday price... Or is it an official price drop?
Re: Nintendo Download: 10th November 2011 (North America)
@zeeroid
It's more bizarre than the Katamari games. In a bad way.
Re: Nintendo Download: 10th November 2011 (North America)
Freaky Forms gets old quickly. I made 2 creatures and just wandered around a lifeless environment. That's all you do in this game.
Re: Nintendo Download: 10th November 2011 (North America)
I just wasted $7 on Freaky Forms. What a piece of crap.
Re: Nintendo Download: 10th November 2011 (North America)
No Virtual Console game? For Wii or 3DS?
Lame Nintendo. Aside from Freaky Forms, this week is horrible.

Re: Review: Super Mario 3D Land (3DS)
Gah! So excited! When does it come out (North America)? On the 13th or 15th?
Re: Review: Super Mario 3D Land (3DS)
This game is basically like Galaxy without the gravity effects. The levels look just as imaginative. They even brought back the Beat Blocks!

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Plans to Fight Back

You only play Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii? You're missing out on a ton of good games.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Plans to Fight Back
Compared to the N64, GBA, and GameCube, the 3DS had an amazing launch. Plenty of quality games were available right when the system launched.
Compare this to the N64 launch, when we only got 2 games (Mario 64 and Pilotwings).

I agree with all of you. This promotion is just Nintendo trying to get rid of extra stock, right?
I have Mini-Land Mayhem. It's quite fun. and I absolutely love the level editor. I love being creative.
Re: You'll Be Tickled Pink with New 3DS Deal, Europe
Mario 3D Land and Skyward Sword release on the same day in Europe? Wow that was a brilliant move. One game might cannibalize sales of the other.
