So weird, that Platinum games keeps porting almost all their games- but totally ignores Vanquish- an old Ps3 title. I dont get why they still havent released that one yet since its one of their best games too.
@OnlyItsMeReid I loved the first KH game so few years back I kind of wanted Sora too, but when they started bringing more 3rd party characters, I felt like there were better choices. Sora is epic in its own way since he travels through Worlds so thematically it fits the Smash formula perfectly, but I feel Sora didnt deserve the spot as much as other characters that actually made Nintendo famous. It was just unacceptable that they bring Sora over, and there is Zero effort to port the old games at least. What would be your top pick characters if you could choose 3?
@BTB20 Please do not take everything so literally. I meant there is a plenty of great games that originated on N64- so it could be Joanna Dark then- the same thing- best N64 fps- she would be amazing addition with very iconic weapons like Laptop gun. Or look at Jet Force Gemini- the very origins of this sci fi cartoonish third person shooter on N64-a precursor to Ratchet and Clank- I would take these characters any day over some silly Steve. But thats just my opinion. I just believe that Nintendo has so many iconic characters, and it feels to me that their choices are sometime money driven, not creative driven. Dont you feel that Smash should better have characters that made past Nintendo concoles famous? thats why I mentioned Leon Kennedy. Plus smash has too big roster with characters with swords and brawlers, but not many characters that natively use guns, so my take on Smash to feel more balanced overall is to pick a more adult charater with a gun- that could also have original gameplay. imagine RE charater- like Whesker, that would summon Zoombies for example- that would be super fun and original.
@jedisquidward I feel the only negativism here is from you. Or I am not allowed to express my opinion? Am I not allowed to say my disappointment? I wasnt the only player who wished for Doomguy. And I do not see a single bad thing about enforcing Nintendo to focus on franchises that have been more loyal to N, over a company that doesnt treat players with respect- like not even porting ps2 games to Switch. So from where I stand, you are the one provoking with irrelevant comments and antagonizing the environment instead of listening to what people want to say. If you were happy for Sora- good for you, I love the original games, but I felt the character was bland without Donald and Goofy. I could picture more deep and creative character design like Duck Hunt.
@BulbasaurusRex yeah I understand, I crashed occasionally too, but me and my friends never found it gamebreaking. I think the only place in the entire game, where I would say there was an issue was after the waterfall when your shoot off parts off the fortress and then want to fly inside…but you can finish the boss without flying in. This was the only really annoying spot but the rest of the game is totally fine. I just didn’t enjoy the drone levels in general- my only complaint. It’s still a very unique and fun Star Fox game- top 3 for sure. They should port it anyways if nothing else. Plus I really believe, if you give it time, you would master the controls eventually and then love it even more. I had the same issues and then after getting used to it it became so precise and fun-but it just takes some practice. I hope they will leave this control setup also optional even if they change stuff.
@Murkyelm I was trying to be really open with Starlink but I feel removing the on rail shooting completely takes away the precision we need and challenge along with time pressure and limited time for noticing details where to find hidden paths. Open world games become often just a playground to waste time and I felt it didn’t suit SF. Ubisoft was probably the worst company that could do it. Platinum is actually the best company( in terms of gameplay focus) to do the next Star Fox game. Even though Star Fox 64 3D is probably the best one, I would still love to see Zero- they should just add more planets and more shortcuts-it also missed the underwater level from SF64 which I really liked.
This ranking shows that the person who made it doesn’t understand what’s the core concept of a Star Fox game—an Arcade shooter! Whoever ranked Starlink above Zero must be out of their minds because the only good thing about Starlink is the graphics, nothing else. Unless a great Starfox game by new standards meant brainless boring fetch quests and boring combat got trendy! Zero in its core is Starfox 64 with some wonky missions that’s could be cut out, but it’s a solid game. Starlink is a THRASH Starfox game! It’s mediocre space shooter at best.
They should port Snake Eater and Twin Snakes for switch finally!!!! Those games are already on Nintendo systems anyways- and how hard would it be to bring a GC and ps2/3DS games over…, yes you are correct, NOT difficult! Do something Konami! Or just give us the damn HD collection with Twin Snakes in it or at lease the ps1 version of MGS!!!!!!!
@samuelvictor Switch urgently needs a Starfox game- since Starlink was too boring gameplay-wise and generic with boring fetch quests. Hope Platinum will also work on the next Starfox. It’s crazy why Nintendo takes so long to bring back games that were already on Wii U-Except SF Zero, mainly Mass Effect, Arkham City, Deus Ex…also hoping for MGS on Switch!
@samuelvictor really well said! I would personally just cut the drone levels they didn’t feel as much fun. How do you feel about adding more levels and have more hidden paths within the levels? Oh and nobody mentions the stellar soundtrack!
@ShadowofTwilight22 Ok I Feel you. I just feel that star fox should remain an on-rail shooter because then if it’s open world it would lose the arcade aspect and the challenge would be lost so with open the world I think it would bring a lot of other other problems. I think on rail shooters are still great because it’s more about the challenge and the exploration was hidden in secret paths that you could find if you pay attention to details within the levels. Sorry it never grew on you. I think it’s good to maintain game genre diversity even if it’s not for everyone.
@ShadowofTwilight22 I feel Zero is not as great as N64, but still great if they cut some boring levels out and add new ones. I missed underwater level:( Zero still deserves a rerelease, but I would take a new mainline starfox anyday- just dont let Ubisoft touch it. Starlink was a piece of thrash, that had no idea what a fun on rail arcade shooter should be like. Super unfun game, that just looked good. Platinum team are the masters of arcade, precise, and fun action games. THey should make their own version of Starfox.
@samuelvictor I could easily play the whole game just on the same screen. The cabin view just made things different and little easier since I could use the gyro controls. If needed you can switch between the screen with a single button press- wo I dont get why is anyone complaining about this.
@ModdedInkling there is no need of a gamepad lol. I played it just on gamepad when I traveled with my wii U and had no TV. Just press one button and you can instantly switch between the two screens. SIMPLE!
@Specter_of-the_OLED DEfinitely never let Ubisoft touch starfox. Starlink was a piece of thrash- it just looked good, and had a great looking cutscenes, thats it. THey didnt have any idea whatis a core SF experience. Most importantly its an on rail(mostly) ARCADE shooter where skill matters. STarlink was so generic with boring sidequests. Zero was amazing- screens could be easily switched with a press of a button. The only complaint was some levels being too sluggish and boring- like the drone ones, and no underwater level:(. The controls just took some getting used to, but afterwards I wouldnt go back to standard control scheme even if that was possible since Zero's controls were super precise and original- it really made me feel like I am finally playing some unique game.
@Clod there was nothing wrong with the controls, just people are lazy adapting to new stuff since from ps2-3 era, most games started to have exactly the same control layouts. It took some getting used to, but eventually it got super precise and I loved it. Wonderful 101 needed 2 screens too and they found a way to make it work. I cannot understand why people complain about the two screens since the game was perfectly playable already on the gamepad-just pressing the select button switched the screens when I needed. So actually the game is already perfectly playable as it and no changes need to be made.
there was nothing wrong with the controls, just people are lazy adapting to new stuff since from ps2-3 era, most games started to have exactly the same control layouts. I am buying this day 1. Please release it ASAP. Thank you Nintendo!
@Shiiva This type of DLC is fine but it’s kinda expected standard for this type of a game. Nobody wants a story DLC? What was missing a lot to me were Space Pirates! I wish there was a DLC journey after the ending to prevent Space Pirates to do more crap to the Galaxy
Why are people forced into subscriptions if they want to keep the software?! Can we have both?! Some might prefer having access to a library for a small annual fee, some prefer to pay more for individual games and keep them!
I don’t think Assassins Creed has any right to be here. Not saying it’s a bad game but if we compare the franchises- Zelda is the god tier of game design- and Assasin the God tier of meaningless fetch quest. Is this nomination for the second? Anyway, Zelda is 22 year older and started in 2D- having such a long past weighs a much bigger burden on each consequential release. This shows that voting like this is not about the most influential games, but about marketing and pleasing the crowd, whoever makes more noise. A proof that their nomination can stay where it belongs- a museum where nobody goes.
@Troll_Decimator do you work for Gamefreak? How can you defend the lack of Exp share switch? Yes games have it- but games that are balanced! Platinum was made without it in the beginning- which forced you to carefully pick the Pokémon you want to level up first-If I have to avoid fights not to get over leveled when I 1HKOeverything for hours- that’s a huge design flaw! If I have to constantly move Pokémon to the box and keep only 1-2 that will make it even worse! Play the original or Black 2 and you will see what is a well balanced combat- there was a thrill, but not in their remakes that I had to stop playing because they were no fun after a few hours. If I don’t need to even check the typing of the Pokémon- for offense and defense since I kill everything in 1 hit even before 3rd gym,it takes the strategy out and that’s not how Pokémon rpg should be/ not fun!
Will get it only if it’s DLC to Arceus! If they push out 2 major games cca 8 months apart it only shows they just care for money- if they truly care for quality-and make amazing dlc to half baked Arceus-it will prove they care for fans and polish their games. But seeing how they didn’t even bother with EXP share off switch- what a simple task- it just proves they do not care for their games and fans!
@Yosher couldn’t have said it better. It’s sadArceus was so half baked! If Scarlet/ Violet would end up a DLC for Arceus- that would redeem Arceus a bit for me, since the character would travel back to his time! It would make the game a complete package. I would so much prefer if they actually started caring for their games and put serious effort into extremely polishing them! Or they will burn in hell likeAssassin Creed! Pokemon is not FIFA!
@Not_Soos I do t think it’s bad- Smash was the most watched fighting game by far- why would Nintendo support Sony make more money. Nintendo should just make their own tournament. Evo needs Smash more than the other way around.
Where is Arkham series and Mass Effect?!!!!! Both were on Wii U! Star Fox is needed and Zelda Collection too( along with Ocarina 3D and Majora 3D ports).!!!!
@iLikeUrAttitude agree, I would have bought the collection immediately( at least if they ported 1+2), but never gonna buy stupid cloud versions- when they could easily port all except 3 maybe, but we have Doom Eternal on Switch, so 3 could be ported too with some effort. Companies just care for money more than fans who keep these companies growing. Selfish practice!
@Octane_st1m I wonder if they posted this just to test the fan bases what do they expect first- just a simple marketing strategy to make sure what to release first since they have more things coming for sure.
@JokerCK no DLC for VIII, in capcoms last direct, they mentioned exclusive game for Switch, and they vaguely said we can look forward to such news-this is long overdue since capcom had their direct about re8 ages ago. This must be either RE2/3 remake for Switch or Revelations 3
@mojen i Feel the same, not gonna waste any money on game rental, so I hope this gets a physical or at least a digital update. Since the game leaked with Achievements it might actually be a remake- which means we could buy this game! Super hyped now!
@Octane_st1m didn’t capcom confirm that they will announce this exclusive Switch RE game after RE8 cools off? I guess revelations 3 should be announced soon anyways. RE4 remake doesn’t make sense since they just released the VR version of it.
@masterLEON I guess I was mistaken, from videos the single player seemed only like challenge rooms but not a significant SP on a scale of Ratchet and Clank, which would be awesome. If the SP like that will be in 3, then it’s a must buy.
@Yosher totally agree with you. I know this is not about graphics but even level design. The levels are empty and caves just tunnels, the world doesn’t feel lived in. Considering Pokémon is the most profiting franchise in the World- 10x more profitable than Final Fantasy and GTA. Look at the polish of these games in comparison. I think seeing other titles on switch from much smaller studios which did a far better job feels like they didn’t want to put more effort in and people who defend it just hurt the franchise because PK has the resources for making a far better game but feels like they can get away with this since kids will always play it. It’s a shame they don’t take into account people who grew up with the franchise. I feel the monster Hunter type off hub world doesn’t suit this game, but that last maybe just me. Anyway- level design, lack of NPCs, animation, meaningless dialogs- this game could have really been far better but not as long as people get satisfied with half baked products.
@Moistnado yeah hack and slash are not for everyone, but Astral Chain has the deepest and most complex combat gameplay out of any hack and slash games like GOW, DMC, Bayoneta. Just some sections slowed the pace of the game- they should implement some fight during the detective segments of the game- like Arkham Knight games.
@Croarus Are you saying that you don’t see this game being better? I am trying to enjoy it, and as I said the concepts are great and fresh, but it seems that everyone keeps forgetting that Pokemon makes 10x the revenue of GTA or Final Fantasy, and look what these game do and how they have evolved. Do you feel it’s ok to have low standards and expectations-I mean the game is ok, but I feel with their money, the game could easily be Breath of The Wild quality atleast.
@Draxa if you are really in your late 30’s I feel sorry for you that you focus on such petty things, you don’t see the abstract but nitpick on little arguments, still, you totally miss the point of what I was saying, you talk about ego, and insulting?! You are just trying to win an argument, that’s not what I was trying to achieve. My point was that these games should have been better. Some people are happy with playing games, eating food, and doing nothing else. Some people want the create and improve things. You sadly answer like a 10-12 years old- and if you were an adult, you would focus on the core of the arguments but you just focus on insults, winning childish arguments. I am sorry for you. Maybe one day you will understand. Have you ever done any programming? Or tried to make a game? Create any content? You just consume and troll, and if that’s all you can do, don’t bother responding.

Re: GoldenEye 007 Remaster Could Be Announced In The "Next Couple Of Weeks"
@mojen i Feel the same, not gonna waste any money on game rental, so I hope this gets a physical or at least a digital update. Since the game leaked with Achievements it might actually be a remake- which means we could buy this game! Super hyped now!
Re: Capcom Has Some Resident Evil News On The Way Tomorrow
@Octane_st1m didn’t capcom confirm that they will announce this exclusive Switch RE game after RE8 cools off? I guess revelations 3 should be announced soon anyways. RE4 remake doesn’t make sense since they just released the VR version of it.
Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 'Second Wind' Expansion Mod Adding Moon Slayer Lynel & Weapon Set
Nintendo should review this content and offer it to Switch players as DLC while giving shares of profits to these creative minds.
Re: Gallery: Splatoon 3 Salmon Run: Next Wave - Everything Revealed So Far
@masterLEON I guess I was mistaken, from videos the single player seemed only like challenge rooms but not a significant SP on a scale of Ratchet and Clank, which would be awesome. If the SP like that will be in 3, then it’s a must buy.
Re: Gallery: Splatoon 3 Salmon Run: Next Wave - Everything Revealed So Far
@RubyCarbuncle I feel the same. I wish Splatoon offered singleplayer like Ratchet and Clank- that would definitely make me buy it.
Re: Are Complaints About Pokémon Legends: Arceus' Graphics Fair? Digital Foundry Digs In
@Yosher totally agree with you.
Re: Konami's Metal Gear Video Game Series Has Almost Reached 60 Million Sales
Please Konami port Snake Eater, Twin Snakes and MGS2 to Switch!
Re: PlatinumGames Is Keen To Create Titles That Are "Different" From Its Past Efforts
Re: French Retailer Lists Batman: Arkham Collection For Switch
Day 1 purchase! Batman Arkham games, Mass Effect and Metal Gear are long overdue on Switch!!!!!!
Re: Nintendo Says It Won't Compete With Microsoft And Sony In An Acquisitions Arms Race
Re: Nintendo Says It Won't Compete With Microsoft And Sony In An Acquisitions Arms Race
