@UltimateOtaku91 only a more difficult setting once you beat it.
All the bosses become easier if you spend the time working out how to spot and avoid their attacks before trying to hit them. Focus on surviving, then work out your attack opportunities.
Interestingly, the games actually boot up behind those screens anyway.
When making Kid Tripp, I discovered that if I allowed the Four Horses logo screen to be skipped, the game into would play underneath the Licensed By Nintendo and Switch logo panels.
@bezerker99 Yeah, I didn't like the idea of existing owners of Kid Tripp getting no loyalty reward when we decided to give KT away free with Miles & Kilo. This way their discount amounts to the original cost of KT, so they pretty much get it free the same as new players.
@Magrane I'd love to make it apply to 3DS, in fact I wanted the 3DS and Switch versions of Kid Tripp to support cross buy, but unfortunately it is not possible.
@Romeo-75 No online leaderboards, I'm afraid. I would like to add them in the future, but I can't make any promises at this time, I'm far too busy on the other console versions.
@Fake-E-Lee I have just had word from another source that it is working! Excellent stuff. Do you happen to own a 3DS/2DS and if so, do you have Digger Dan DX for it?
@Fake-E-Lee I believe it should be now working. Can you please check and let me know? Also, thanks for brining this to my attention in the first place!
@Fake-E-Lee I'm trying to get this sorted with Nintendo as soon as possible. When do you go off on holiday? Also, I suspect you won't be able to unlock it when the time comes without an internet connection, will you have one?
@Fake-E-Lee I'm not sure why it isn't working for you, it should be. When I looked on the Euro eShop earlier, it showed the 50% off tag in the search results. I'll look into things a little more.
Can anyone else who owns Kid Tripp in the Americas please check the eShop to see if it shows the discount for them?
@Whalehome The initial size might not be too bad, but Fortnite seems to get updates on an almost weekly basis.
The patches stack up on Switch, it doesn’t appear to overwrite modified files, both versions are retained, so I’m assuming deleted files are not removed either.
Also, in my experience, the patch files are way bigger than they need to be.
They’d better improve the patching system on Switch or people are gonna get pretty upset about how much SD card this game chews with its requent updates.
Kid Tripp initial version is 25MB. The v1.2 patch is 20MB (should be 4, based on changed files) It takes 45MB space on the Switch as it installs the original version plus the patch, it doesn’t merge them.
Not much of a problem with a small game, but when the patches or GB in size....
I should have called Kid Tripp "Kid Tripp's adventures on an island after crashing into a giraffe - Nintendo Switch turbo maximum nonsense edition part 1" just to get a bit more screen time in this video...
TLDR - potential death trap, don't take the risk with any aftermarket power adaptors.
Having watched a very experienced electrical engineer tear down a 3rd party power supply and explain exactly how much of a "made by the cheapest bidder who cares not for safety and will happily attach any required safety logos despite not complying with them" death trap they are, I will never buy another 3rd party power supply.
Bought this last Friday. Had a quick look but am planning to play co-op with my son. Very nice game, so far. Celeste is keeping me from going back to it sooner.
@NinNin I can't really comment on that, Nintendo certainly held back for a while. I held off requesting it until I had an agreement to make Kid Tripp for 3DS and in principal on Switch so that when I asked Nintendo, I actually had something concrete to show them in case they asked. They said yes to me fairly quickly.
By the way, if anyone is interested in knowing how the Switch version is coming along, I decided to blog the process. The more people who read this, the more pressure I'll feel to not slink off and play a bit of Crash Bandicoot instead of working!
@Muddy_4_Ever Thank you so much, what a lovely comment! I hope Four Horses never gets so big that I don't have time to care about what the public think of my games.
(I feel cheeky making any claim that Kid Tripp 3DS is at all mine! Michelangelo once said of his David statue that he did not create it, it was always there, he just chipped away the parts of it that weren't David. I feel the same, this game is not mine, @pixelman created it, I just hammered the Objective out of his code and added some ++ and a little 3D)
@impurekind When we decided to change the controls, the initial test of the "Running" mode made us instantly think of the skateboard sections on Wonder Boy and we loved it. We knew immediately that we had to keep them. The guy who suggested those controls (a colleague in my day job) gets a mention in the credits for that one!
Actually changing the controls was a difficult decision though, we wanted to keep the game exactly the same as the iOS version, hence why we included the 'Hardcore' controls which work exactly as the iOS version.
@Kiz3000 The switch version supports 2x the number of screen resolutions as the 3DS whilst still retaining 66% of the dimensions, so it should be $6! Being the same price as the 3DS version would be a bargain.
@rushiosan It is 4x higher, but there are 2x as many developers involved in this version and there are 50% extra dimensions to the visuals. Unless my maths is screwy, that totally justifies 4x the cost!
@Gavin-Rozee - Yes it is always black. We considered putting info on that screen during gameplay but to be honest, if you take your eyes off the top screen, you die. Plus it would have delayed release. If we come up with any really cool ideas for that screen we may put out an update.
@Rogueleader76 My best is 3061 coins with only 1 life lost. There are no online leaderboards, but I'll be encouraging players to try beat my score by posting their Game Clear screens to Miiverse.
@faint You are correct, Pixelman (regular on NL) built the iOS game from the ground up. I (also regular on here) converted it to 3DS and on Monday, will start converting it to Switch.

Re: Two 3DS Games Have Been Made Free To Download On 3DS eShop (Europe)
@Bunkerneath Are you looking on the Switch eShop there? It should be free (in Europe) on the 3DS eShop.
Re: Random: A Signed Copy Of Shigeru Miyamoto's 1989 Business Card Has Gone Missing, And The Owner Wants It Back
@ERIC_MACK Signed in person. I got two copies signed.
The game had not launched in Europe at that time, so hopefully they are pretty rare.
Re: Random: A Signed Copy Of Shigeru Miyamoto's 1989 Business Card Has Gone Missing, And The Owner Wants It Back
I have a Miyamoto signed copy of A Link To The Past on GBA. I’d never trust letting that out of my hands.

Re: Indie Game Removed From Switch eShop After Dev Reveals It Contains A Hidden Code Editor
I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo removes the game from any account that bought it and refund their purchase.
Re: Nintendo Download: 5th July (Europe)
@Moroboshi876 Give or take 1c. We didn’t want anyone who already bought Kid Tripp to feel left out.
Re: Nintendo Download: 5th July (Europe)
@Moroboshi876 It should work like this:
If you own Kid Tripp on Switch already, Miles & Kilo will show 50% off on the eShop.
If you don’t already own Kid Tripp, after you buy Miles & Kilo at full price, Kid Tripp will show 100% discount on the eShop.
If the appropriate discount is not showing up for you, let me know what region you are and I will check it out as soon as I can.
Re: Nintendo Download: 5th July (Europe)
@KoopaTheGamer Not quite - 7.99 if you don’t already own KT, but then you get KT free. 3.99 if you do already own it.
Works out pretty much the same - 8 for both games.
Re: Nintendo Download: 5th July (Europe)
Yay! Miles & Kilo!
Remember you can get 100% off Kid Tripp until July 12th when you buy Miles & Kilo.
or 50% off Miles & Kilo if you already own Kid Tripp on Switch!

I really should get the Switch version submitted to Nintendo before the eShop is completely full!
Re: Piczle Lines DX Gets 20 New Puzzles in a Free 'Horror' Update
@Pazuzu666 From a developer's point of view, you can pour months of work into a game and get very few sales to reward your effort.
Making a game smaller initially and seeing if it is popular before pouring more time into extra content as free add-ons makes a lot of sense.

Is this 5GB save file thing verified? It cannot be right. If it is, somebody needs to go to jail, because that is criminal.

I'd like to know if it runs at 60fps on Switch. I'll be getting the game no matter what, but if it is slow on Switch, I'll go for the PS4 version.
