It wouldn't be acceptable in the least if they release it running at 50Hz, considering the European versions of these SMS games were never optimized, except perhaps for a few European exclusives (so all of these games will even have slower music when in 50Hz mode).
I really want Wonder Boy and Shinobi 1 running as fast as they should. =(
"More garbage on top of the rest of the trash released this pass year (except for Kirby 64)." It's kind of odd to see anybody calling Wonder Boy "garbage", while defending Kirby 64, seriously.
That's comparing a timeless classic with the black sheep of a series (hint: Kirby 64 isn't the classic).
"what I don't understand is that people are attacking Damo because he asked if we were all "crybabies"... which was a joke, of course" I don't think they're serious about it, either way... And if they are, they're just crybabies. =P
@DEMON212 "I have 127 games, I dislike 10. I see people who have 20 and say there's nothing good out. Hell, I see people who have 5 and say that there's nothing good out. Unless they've played EVERY single VC game that's out, then HOW exactly do they know this?" I've really played almost all of them already, and I'm sure there's many people like me... There's really less than 20 games from the VC catalogue that I'm interested in, and thus I'm still waiting for games like Yoshi's Island. "And if they have played them all, THEN JUST WHY THE HELL DID THEY WANT THE VC!" To... play again those we really enjoyed? It's quite simple, really.
@Djtriforce "You guys are nuts. If you aren't happy with what's been said, then leave, and cry about it. It's not a big deal." If you still haven't noticed, here's where everybody is supposed to post their oppinions. If you don't like them, that's fair enough, but nobody's leaving. =P
"Except for the licensing issues behind vc titles there shouldn't be any slow down reason. They are not spending the time to remake the game in any way. They're simply letting us legally download the ROM and emulate it." Agreed. They should have released at least all the first/second party, non-licensed games already, there's many missing good games that should be there already.
Also, they're just losing money with these nonsensical delays, since people will be looking for "alternate" ways to play those games not yet on VC. I'll laugh my ass off when somebody manages to make their own emulators work on the Wii and "releases" the whole catalogue (imports included) at once, running at 60Hz in PAL systems, without sound problems, and free of charge.
That's when they'll regret not having released their whole (non-licensed) catalogue from day 1. And they'll be the ones who cry then.
EDIT: And I won't start talking about how all the "imports" except S&P are being left in Japanese, when fan translations already exist for many of them.
"I battle for the reign of 50hz" Like 90% of the PAL gamers, I hope you never succeed. =P This game looks brilliant, I'm gonna buy it unless it's 50Hz-only.
It's a bad idea, except for those who don't earn their own money.
I don't think people should pay for additional stuff, unless they make something significantly different like additional episodes for a graphic adventure, etc. In other words, something they've really had to work hard to make it.
What's with everybody anticipating Milon 2 so much...? Being an import title doesn't make it less average than it is, I'd much rather have the superb Kirby's Fun Pak.
The C64 version isn't "the" original... The Amiga version was also developed and released at the same time, and it's better in every aspect, so let's hope they release that one instead. Super Turrican is a different game, so they wouldn't have any problems releasing the original Amiga game.
I don't know why they'd remove the loading screens... They were usually quite cool, and they could just show them for a few seconds or until a button is pressed, even before the emulation starts.
Nice C64 game, but I'm personally more used to the ZX Spectrum version... Either way, this being the original version as programmed by its designer, I might give it a shot.
They'd better release the Amiga version of IK+ as well, which was a million times better... It was a Commodore machine too, so they shouldn't have any problems releasing it.
Now this is a must have for any Fantasy Zone fans. A MegaDrive exclusive that hasn't been featured in any compilations or remakes to this day. And also, it's a great game.
"Remember, on the VC the "choppyness" will be gone! The VC has already massively improved Super Mario 64 and the Sonic games, both of which were prone to slowdown. Finally we get to play these games the way they were designed to be played!" It will have the same slowdown as the original, just like any other VC game.
Guys, just send all your complaints to Nintendo's customer service. Posting your rants here won't make them aware of the situation. Here's the contact info for European people:
"I just hope that this controller works like a charm with SF:Hyper Fighting" You won't be able to use strong kicks or punches with this controller, due to the lack of buttons.
This game already got an amazing remake for the PS2 (included in SEGA Classics Collection), so I don't think I'm getting this watered-down arcade port... Specially if it isn't including FM sound support, if it will be running at 50Hz in Europe, if the sound emulation is as bad as in the MegaDrive VC games, etc.
EDIT: By the way, that video shows the whole game in 9 minutes, way to spoil things...

Re: Devil World
An unlicensed classic
It's not unlicensed, it's a first-party Nintendo game.
Re: Cruis'n USA
this game kicks! i gave it 5 stars to balance the rating a bit...
its more a 3 star game boosted to 4 though because it's
so much fun
If you don't think it's worth 5 stars just don't give it that rating, please. Else, that's rigging the votes.
Also... Are you sure you've played this same game, rather than Cruisin' the World?

Re: EU VC Releases - March 14th - Super R-Type
I was planning to get Puyo Puyo 2 and now I find this. I'm officially pissed off with the Virtual Console now.
Re: Tetris is Coming to WiiWare - Online Play Included
This is great news... Although I'm not sure if Hudson will handle Tetris as flawlessly as Nintendo.

Lol at those saying that "if it's expensive, it must be good".
The shovelware guys should be taking notes from this kind of comments.
Re: EU VC Release - March 7th - Kirby 64
Not getting it. Worst Kirby ever.
Where's Kirby's Fun Pak when you need it? =(

Else, not so amazing. =P

Re: Renegade
Ugh, that must be the worst port this game ever had, along with the C64 version.
I really hope they give us the Master System version instead... or the Amstrad CPC or Spectrum versions, even.
Re: First Official Images of the New Neo-Geo Stick for Wii
Radretrogamer, controllers can't be "mapped to other VC games".
Think of this as a classic controller with no analogue, and the buttons in a line of: [ZL-L] B-A-Y-X [R-ZR].

Re: Kirby's Dream Land 3 Reclassified by ESRB
Nobody said this rating was for a VC release, though... It could be another remake for the DS.
