That's cool, but I can't help think what a missed oppurtunity that they didn't make a special Metroid Switch 2 Pro Controller to coincide with the game. I would have loved that, especially if they had come out with a controller with some color to it. The recently announced RE9 Pro controller however doesn't give me much hope that future special edition controllers will be anything but black.
You see this a lot in Japan in general when promoting collaborations between brands, artists, IP, and so on. Occasionally in titles as discussed here. And in Japan, the X is never pronounced. Having studied and spent a considerably time in Japan, I always read or say a title with an X in the middle without saying the X.
I actually first encountered this when I first said Hunter x Hunter to my japanese girlfriend and she started laughing at me for doing that.
The update is on Switch 1 actually, but clearly intended to benefit Switch 2. Unlocking the framerate on Switch 1 has likely made the experience there worse than before.
@Nightcrawler71 Physical games are more expensive than digital on the Switch 2, everywhere except the US. What you are seeing is the standard eShop price, while shops have the higher standard physical price. So not a deal.
I'm not for piracy in any way, but what Nintendo is doing here feels completely gross to me.
I feel like I now don't actually own my Switch 2 console. Nintendo could at any moment, for any reason they want, render my console esentially useless, with no recourse. That sort of unchecked power is scary even for a legitimate user like myself, because you never know the criteria they might have. Perhaps you buy a used copy of a game that someone has dumped to a MiG cartridge, without you knowing, and when the dumped copy of the game is played at the same time as you're playing the copy you bought, that might be enough for Nintendo to decide to ban your console.
Maybe they're not doing that right now, but there is nothing to stop them from deciding to do that later. They can move the goalposts whenver they want, to whatever they want.
Maybe they don't like unlicensed manufacturers making accessories for the Switch 2, and decide to ban your console for using an unlicensed accessory. I mean why not? They could count that as modifying your console. And if they don't do that, why would they ban you for using a MiG cartridge without credible evidence of not using your unique copy of a cartridge.
I seriously doubt what they are doing is legal in the EU, I would be shocked if that were the case. Consumer protections are serious business there, and I really hope they get challenged by the EU.
@CJD87 I don't think it's a question of R&D for Hori. They could add rumble and wireless to it, and I have no doubt they would, if Nintendo would let them.
If you look into it, there are no officially licensed joy-con with wireless or rumble, only non-licensed. That to me suggests that Nintendo simply don't allow 3rd party products to have these features.

Re: WayForward Director Says Nintendo Changed The Way He Looks At Making Video Games
@Axecon There are two DS games you know, although the latter one doesn't have the same characters.
Re: Fitness Boxing Fist Of The North Star Expansion Pack DLC Out Now
No Japanese voice acting, no buy.
Re: Poll: Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster Is Out On Switch This Week, Will You Be Getting It?
@Hinade Ooof, that is super disappointing. Waiting for my physical copy to arrive.
Re: Fitness Boxing Fist Of The North Star Is Getting A Physical Release In The West
The big question is, will it have an option for Japanese audio unlike the eShop version? If not then it's an instant pass.
Re: PDP's New Switch Controller Includes A Collectible Sonic Figurine Inside The Grip
That looks great, but if there's anything I hate, it's touching glossy plastic. Gross, not for me.

Re: Where To Buy Metroid Prime Remastered On Switch
@Jimmy_G_Buckets They didn't up the performance, the original game also runs at 60 fps.
